  1. I believe the member 6.0ss is the one who made those consoles.
  2. Everything you speak of is possible. It's just going to cost alot of coin. A navigation system is hella expensive. I just replaced my factory HU with the 310 Alpine. I ended up purchasing the interfaces for the chimes and steering wheel controls and I also bought a remote since the wheel interface doesn't do everything like change tracks on my iPod. I also kept my factory Bose speakers. I just purchased and installed an Alpine 5 channel theater amp (MRA-D550) yesterday so I have to play with all the adjustments through the HU. I also need to run an optical cable from the HU to that amp to achieve true 5.1 surround sound which will get done today. As for XM, you can still keep it, but you will need to purchase a seperate XM tuner box and from what I've been told, you can use the factory antenna. I did away with my XM since I only really listened to one channel.
  3. I believe that is what McGaughy's recommends isn't it? Something like that. Looking under the truck, it does make sense what you are talking about. I've thought about doing that, it's just all the work involved that gets me thinking NOT!
  4. Hey guys For whatever it's worth, I have mine installed in the lowest holes on both the shackles and hangers and I get the vibration. Although it seems very, very minimal, it's still there so if your looking for a quick fix, forget it. I remember when I first got my truck back from the installer, both were installed in the upper holes and it was riding on bumpstops, I hated it! I came home and re-installed them into the holes they sit in currently so I know what a PITA it is to change it up. Hey Mr. P, what is the correct configuration according to Mike again?
  5. OK guys, I'm not looking for a forum like this one. I need some places to shop for that amp.
  6. I'm in the market for an Alpine 5 channel theater amp for my truck. There aren't may places around here to go and just buy it so I'm looking for some websites. I already looked at Crutchfield. Any others?? BTW: I'm looking for either the MRA-D550 or the MRA-F350. Thanks
  7. Thank you very much! What about the A pillar tweeters? Are those just connected along with the front speakers or are they seperate?
  8. That's a whole lot of wires!!! Would it be too much to ask for you to narrow down exactly which ones I need at the amp and radio PLEASE although I could just look at the connector and wire colors and figure it out from there? I was just thinking since you had this info, maybe you already did this. Left side: A pillar tweeter Front Rear Right side: A pillar tweeter Front Rear Thanks!
  9. Damn P, all that? I would love to take a ride in your truck to see exactly what you are upset about because as you can see, most people don't have the issues you are having. Then again maybe they are, but just don't feel the same way you do about the issues. I surely can understand that you want the driveline perfect for the amount of horsepower you are going to add in the future. Anyways, I hope you get it all straight.
  10. I assume the axle needs to be rotated up? You might be having the same issues, just not trying to get it perfect like Mr. P. I applaude your effort P and am very interested in your findings, but what exactly are you trying to accomplish? I assumed when I bought the kit that a few things would be off, things just can't be that perfect IMHO, especially since I am a pessimist.
  11. If you can help me, I need the speaker color code for the Bose system in our trucks. I think something is wrong with the way I wired it up. I'm going to tap into the stock wiring and run it to my amp. Makes it easier so I don't have to run new wire to all the interior door speakers and A pillar tweeters. Also, would it be better to tap into the wires behind the radio or at the Bose amp in the center console? I would think in the console since the wire run would be much shorter, but I don't know if that is possible. TIA
  12. Sh*t, people are already getting caught siphoning gas!
  13. So how about that triple post?
  14. That's got to be full serve right?
  15. I'm currently in the middle of installing everything I bought off Dylan and I was contemplating the same thing, whether or not I should amp the interior Bose speakers with that 4 channel amp. I ended up installing it and using the Bose speakers themselves. It sounds pretty damn good! I actually had the volume way up while I was checking something and I would have thought they would have blew, but to my surprise they didn't. I would say if you can or have an amp, do it. My interior speakers sound ALOT better with the 4 channel amp now. No need for new wire. All you have to do is tap into the current wire that is coming from the Bose amp and run it to the amp.
  16. Well, I finally got around to installing everything I bought from Dylan yesterday. Now I have some engine noise coming from somewhere. I can hear it more when I rev up the motor. I checked all of the grounds on the 4 channel amp used for the interior speakers, the bridged amp used for the subs, the brain for the Alpine HU and I still can't find it! :banghead:v :banghead:v :banghead:v The one thing I haven't checked is the ground behind the HU. According to the Alpine installation guide, the HU itself should have a yellow and black wire behind it. That would be the only thing I can think of that would cause all of this. Some other things I have back there are two interfaces, one for the steering wheel controls and another for the chimes, but I can't see how any of that would cause this problem. Anyone have any ideas before I take it back to the installer? TIA
  17. My mom lives in Texas so no brunch, dinner, etc. I have sent her gift already though. As for my mother in law, we will have breakfast and a BBQ at Grandpa's house.
  18. More than likely it's because it's a Caddy dealer. I got a few estimates for some damage on my bumper and the Caddy dealership was more than double what two Chevy dealerships wanted. Why not just buy it and do it himself? It shouldn't be that hard. Late- Alex
