  1. I gave up on the groaning complaint. My front diff pinion seal was leaking, they screwed up the bearing preload while replacing it and took out the bearings. They put a brand new diff in and that groaning noise was still there. Good luck!
  2. We see it at work (BMW dealership) when it is really cold out and the vehicles are started, moved and then shut off without warming up. These are brand new cars or newer used cars. If holding it to the floor and cranking it does not work, try removing the fuel pump fuse and cranking it til it starts to fire, then put the fuse back in. Do this while holding the throttle down also.
  3. Mine quit working for about a month or so, took it to the dealer and they reflashed a control unit that they said had communication faults. Working since!
  4. Possible intrest in headers. Where are you in Cincinnati? North, South? Will wait for the pictures!
  5. Just wondering if anyone does it or has tried it. Been reading up on it lately and it sounds like a pretty fun hobby, one that you can drink!
  6. I think your a bit late getting into this one!
  7. I had a leaking seal replaced on mine a few months ago. After they replaced the seal the diff developed a whinning noise during light accel and decel. All along i've had the growling noise when turning slowly. Turning growl still present with brand new front diff!
  8. Whats wrong? Did all the NY teams get beat??
  9. 2002 is the first year for the E65 (new body). The only thing you have going for you with an 02 or 03 is BMW extended the wty to 100K. Good luck otherwise especially if your buying from a private party with no CPO cert. Also evey 7 series ive driven (lots) with aftermarket wheels drive like crap! If the electronics have been altered in any way (stereo) run! Good luck with the women, you will need it!
  10. Does this pod have the speaker cutout??
  11. Hey Ben, Do you still have the scanning software for sale? I plan on starting some mods and a buddy has the full program but he is an hour away, making it hard to log. Thanks, Kurt
  12. Welcome! Neither, get a custom tune (in person with tuner is best) or a mail order tune such as PCMFORLESS!!
  13. Hey, thanks for the input. Would they have replaced it with an updated version or would they just put in "new" junk?
  14. I want a SS tailgate cap for $20, I paid triple that for a stock silverado cap!
  15. Props to Serra GMC, Cady, Buick, Pontiac in Romeo MI. They are replacing the complete diif under wty. Finally good service, funny thing, its not even a Chevy Dealer
  16. I know alot of members have front diff issues but mine was only leaking. UNTIL the dealer repl the pinion seal. After they replaced the seal (which is still leaking) the diff developed the famous growling noise. This noise started about 2k miles after the seal was replaced. It is getting worse as I put more miles on it. The noise is worst at approx 50mph under light accel and is also present during decel (coasting). Is there a crush sleve to set pinion depth that must be replaced or do most dealers mark the nut and reinstall in the same position. My truck is now out of warranty by time but they just did the diff work 2 months ago. Thanks in advance!!
  17. O.K. guys, heres another question to throw into the pile. I would love to FI the SS. BUT, my deal is I tow a 5500lb boat, sometimes a decent distance. What would be the best performance setup that I could still tow the boat with?? Thanks, this thread ROCKS!
