  1. yeah it sucks but im trying not be angry and look at the bright side. i did order my crank today .

    I could understand you wanting to be angry but don't. I would be more disappointed than mad. You knew you would have to do something different with the motor eventually... I say, now is better than later, its gotta be hard with money being tight, but it'll all work out. If anything, you could start a "Help Chase catch 10's fund raiser" on the site and bring in a few bucks from the local SSer's :jester:

    lol yeah it would be nice, it is cool to be able to say i did this on my own though. the good side of things is actually this isnt going to be as expensive as i first thought.

    block =600

    crank=800

    heads=1300

    cam=400

    rods=375

    pistons=600

    and anythigng salvageable from the old motor

    i already have paid for everything but the rods/pistons and block. the rods i should have by next week, block is getting picked up on monday. crank should arrive next week. and i should have the motor pulled by this weekend. im hoping to have it running by march. i am going to custom order the pistons from je. im going to aim for 9.5=1 compression ratio and try and run 15 psi and 100-150 shot of juice.(only at the track).

  3. you could do up to 150 with a timing retard box. my pcm is stock (at least for the next few weeks yet) the engine should be ok as long as you dont spray all the time. the transmission is another story. 50 to 75 max on tranny is my opinion. i smoked mine once already with the 150 shot.

  4. well was coming home from work last night and say a brand new gto still had the paper plates on it. well to make it short we finally caught the same light after playing around a bit. i am still having trouble believing this myself but the light turned green we both nailed. i got a good jump on him and stayed out in front up to about 45mph then he very slowly pulled away from me i still cant believe how well my truck did aginst a gto. i thought that maybe he wasnt getting on it but i knew he had to have been i the gas pretty hard because i remember seeing his headlight jump in my mirror everytime he changed gears.  :driving:

    A kill is a kill. :thumbs:

    He just needs to learn to drive it. I have seen many stock GTOs run in the 12s with the right driver. Then again, he may always suck. :dunno:

    good point, i've seen stock ones run high 12's to low 14's all depends who is behind the wheel

  5. With winter on it's way, i figured it would be nice to have something for the wife to drive in the snow rather than the camaro. So we broke down and bought a 02 Grand Prix GTP. I really like the car. She got plenty of snap with the supercharger.

    Can't wait to take it to the track and see what it'll do.
