I've been driving my dad's 4runner because I havent put my Blizzaks on yet. How do you like your set up? How much and where did you get the tires? I think I saw you today; were you around the o'malley area or live anywhere near?

Like the title says, I'm goin to be in las vegas with my girlfriend from the 30th to November 3rd. We're staying at the stratosphere (girlfriends parents paid for it) which from what I understand is far from everything else. We both just turned 21 this month so we're new to the club thing and don't know which ones to check out. Also, what are some good places to eat at? We want to try something local rather than franchise type. I was told to try out hash house a go go. Anything unique is pretty much what were looking for.
We were given tickets to that circus olay thing.. Do you guys suggest checking out any other events or places? Keep in mind we're only therefor a short time so we don't want to spend half a day driving to one destination haha. My girl and I just want to have a good 21 and up first time Vegas experience so all suggestions, recommendations, n tips are welcome! Thanks!

by full set, do you mean EVERY single SS cladding needed for say... an SS conversion? haha

hmmm.. I've heard mixed reviews of hansens. I heard taylor's transmission on lake otis near 68th puts out good all around work, plus Jim Moore started working there. He used to own Jim's Muffler and had a good reputation for exhausts so I brought my truck there for a full install. Little did I know, his grandson is doing all the exhaust work now and let's just say I highly recommend NOT going there. Don't get me wrong, the guys there know their stuff, but it looks like Chad used a HAMMER to bang down and reduce my 3" tip to 2.5" piping... Back to the topic, try B&B on diamond and C St?
As for the head and cams... Underground Performance maybe? Nick does good work. Or there's another shop up here called fast times or something. They're trying to build the fastest silvy ss in AK i think. One of the guys is on the site I believe.
I've been wanting to go in with someone on HPTuners. It can tune an unlimited number of the same year make and model so whoever has an 04 silvy, let me know if you guys want to split. This way, we can log our trucks, send the files to zippy or whatever professional, and they can tweak it more precisely and specifically to YOUR truck, rather than just a cookie cutter mail order tune.
I'm going to try and get a hold of the Fast Time's guys because I could've sworn they said something about HPTuners. I'll keep you guys posted.

Whoa i didn't even think anyone checked this anymore so i stopped. I was always on campus last semester, usually in the RH parking lot as well. I've seen a couple blue SS's there, and I always saw Fast's Vmax in the way back where i always parked haha. Most of my classes are at the university center now so I wont be on campus very often. I got new plates that say "XSSV" so if you see me, honk n wave! Everyone else up here seem to be pricks haha

What shop did the powder coating somewhere in Soldotna or Anchorage? Just wanted to know what shop to watch out for....
Same here, I'm planning on getting my 3rd set of wheels for next summer coated and definitely don't need that to happen. I hope the shops gonna make it right for you..

OMG I'm so getting your mag issue! Truck looks great as always, and detail looks great as always! The power plant setup looks killer as well! The only thing I would do IF it were my truck would be to paint the trim/flange around the brake ducts black so only the actual trapezoid part is silver/gray if that makes sense. But thats just me haha. Anyway, the truck looks great and remains one of my favorites of all time!

does it matter what size cab you have? aren't all cab's corners the same on the regular silverados? My friend has an extended cab silvy and wants my rear bumper so the ss corner claddings would be cool to see. Just wanna see the price as shipping price is no concern to me.

I originally mounted the belltech bumpstops directly to the frame and left it at that. Then a year later I noticed that my driver side one had been torn up I guess from being compressed so much maybe? So I just took 2 nubs off and it actually rides a lot better. Don't cut the fronts, drill them.

As the title says, the a/c and heater aren't working. I have the digital climate control, and everything seems to work fine on that part. Its just not blowing any air. So of course my initial thought is that the blower is out... But before I just go and buy a new one, are there things i should look for or any other things that can be causing this problem? I'm no mechanic by any means, so any ideas and suggestions would help. Give me what you got!
I have barely over 50K miles on the truck, is this a common problem at this point? Thanks in advance!

i like having my switch hidden cuz if i ever get pulled over for playing movies while driving, i just switch it off and they can't prove anything

you're gonna have to turn the torsion bolts to lower the front even more to even it out or get a slight rake
