  1. I am biased...I work for GM... I installed AC 'iridium' plugs...I noticed a slight improvement, and less spark knock on hot days......I indexed them also...Don't know if that made a difference...I indexed the 'back' plugs first because I have read they are the 'problem' cylinders...F.Y.I., indexing is aiming the 'open' part of the spark plug at the intake valve...I did it on my 415 h.p. (with NOS) '79' Camaro and picked up a tenth, the Camaro ran 12.5's all day......the last two where pretty close...I use techron for an injector cleaner only because I can't find seafoam here in Michigan...We used techron at the Cadillac dealer that I worked at...But the injector cleaner machine was FAR superior... I did not know we even had a pvc valve!!!...What happens when it gets too dirty??? What are the symptoms?...What is the 'catch can' idea for?...What does it improve? Thanks!!!
  2. Yes you did brother...Thanks!!!...I was flippin out wondering how long I drove like that...But Aaron did fix it promptly...He sent me a new tube.... I am going to cover it with something tougher now... I am a pipe fitter and pipe welder by trade...So I would like to think I tightened the clamps correctly...Just maker it a prt of your preventative maintainance...I still would buy Outlaw again...
  3. Check out my post back in November guys!! No one even viewed it!...I have pics too!
  4. Undisclosed location...hmmmm I-75...or M-59? just wondering...
  5. I am putting "Yosemite Sam" mud flaps on mine...and a 'playboy' air freshener...That will make my truck a 'babe magnet'...
  6. What would we have to do to run one of theses Viper trucks down? Saw one...and we teased each other last night...NICE TRUCK!!!...PROPS!!! Seemed to jump...even at a 50 roll... Would a simple RADIX mod beat theses guys?
  7. As a 40 year old car guy and amatuer drag racer...I can't say I never did something such as you guys did,,,Testosterone is a powerful thing...I had a couple close calls before I finally woke up and took it to the track with the big dogs...But I still will hop it every now and then, but only under premium conditions...I.e. lots of lanes , day light, can see the other driver, (Not racing an experienced 18 year old high Punk in his dad's ride)...Thank God, it could have been much worse... As the saying goes amongst my car buddies, "the big dogs don't play on the street..." I am glad no one was hurt!!!...And you had to know you where going to kick his ass sooner or later...LOL
  8. Well I did get a response from OUTLAW...And an email confirmation that a new tube was on it's way to my house...I should have my new part on the 21st of November...My faith in OUTLAW is restored...It is great when a company stands behind their product ...I would still highly recomend their CAI kits...AND would recommend using a phone (my bad) to let them know if you have a problem... have a great holiday everyone... Bob EMAIL FROM OUTLAW>>>> Robert, We did not receive your original email, had we received it you would have received a prompt response. A call into our toll free # (888) 342-4133 would have also generated a response, as our techs would respond close to 18hrs a day and 7 days a week. I cannot say why we did not receive your original email, I looked through the spam filter and it was also not in there. Either way, know that we are readily available and as many can attest to, we are highly customer service oriented. Having said that, for future reference give me a call if you don't get a response within 24 hrs. Am I correct in understanding that the seam of the "TUBE" is split? If you can send a picture of the part OR tell me "YES" the plastic tube is split and send me a pic later. I just want to know if I need to send you a tube to fix the problem or is it something else? If a new tube will fix the problem reply immediately so I can get the part shipped today. I apologize for the lack of response (out of our control) and promise to fix the problem rapidly, whatever it may be. Thank you, Aaron Morant Outlaw Power cell# (909) 910-6889 [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: boB Weinert [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 11:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: 2nd email... Thought I would let you know that I am a member of SilveradoSS.com ... I have posted the original email that I sent to you November 9, 2006, on the silveradoss, com web site forum...The same day I sent it... I did not think I would be waiting for a week for a reply, and I was hoping to report back to other forum members how well you took care of me...At this point I don't know what to say... regards, Robert Weinert
  9. Had a 'lube kit' installed for the second time yesterday...What the hell is a lube kit anyway?...can i lube it now?...
  10. I am interested too...if the other guys back out...first...don't want to step on anyones toes...
  11. Hey SSers...Here is a copy of the email that I sent to Outlaw...I will let you know how it worked out...Check yours!!! Bob To whom it may concern, I purchased one of your CAI systems approximately 11 months ago. I have been very happy with it until yesterday. I was doing some routine maintenance on my Chevrolet Silverado and noticed that I had a 3/16 inch gap on the intake tube near the 'power coupler'...I might have slightly overtightened the coupler, but I don't think so...Your directions said snug...I am a skilled trades person at General Motors here in Detroit so I really don't think that I overtightened the hose clamp...In fact I am a pipe-fitter! LOL...So I have some experience with hose clamps!...I deal with them everyday... Right now I have a small piece of cloth plugging the 'gap' at the power coupler to intake tube connector... It is toward the front and center of the intake tube, right at the 'seam' from the injection mold process... What can we do to correct this? I can send pics if you desire... A prompt response would be truly appreciated... Robert Weinert 2004 Silverado SS 6.0
  12. the flowmaster was day and night compared to the stock exhaust...i knew the difference immediately as soon as i fired her up...you probably cant go wrong either way...but it does get expensive trying several exhaust systems...i wont go out to change my exhaust now,,,but when it comes time to replace it...i will go corsa sport or magnaflow...only because flowmaster does not make an exhaust for our trucks...i had a good custom exhaust guy do my system here in michigan,,,,but he retired last year,,,
  13. I don't like to say what opinion about what is loud...it is all kind of relative...what is loud to me could be quiet for you..i can fire it up at 4am and not wake the neighbors...but i do get complements all the time about how good it sounds...mine is a 2 in 2 out......when i pass someone they can hear me for sure...i think going to a sss rally, and listening to our trucks with different exhaust would be the best...i only went with flowmaster because i used their mufflers on my old 450 hp camaro...
  14. i am in metro detroit too...i work at the poletown plant in detroit...where can we go to race where the people are cool?...is french road our only option...i want to go to lapeer or milan on a mid-week terst and tune day...any takers?
  15. I went with the big block series...i am happy with the sound...but it was a little 'droney' at highway speeds...i am used to it now...If I had to do it again...I wound go with a Magnaflow or corsa exhaust for a little more money...IMHO
  16. I am so fed up with trying to pay off my marital debt...and the i.r.s....even though i really dont believe they will ever offer...GM or anyone else a truck like ours for less than $37k again... and I need to purchase a house...some of you guys out there can relate... My truck has been driven mostly highway...45 miles each way since I bought it...it was originally a GM "PEP" car...an GM engineer drove it for 3k miles before I purchased it... it only has a couple light dings and some very fine scratches...not mint but looks incredible,...i painted show cars and worked as a painter at a cadillac dealership in detroit for 13 years before working at General Motors...I like to think I know how to care for my vehicles...the gm warranty is transferable
  17. For sale: 2004 SSS AWD XM BOSE etc... Black New tires at 55k 61k mileage as of today...GM warranty until 98k In SE michigan PCM $ less...have stock pcm Flowmaster big block series exhaust...have stock exhaust... Tinted windows.. intimidator spoiler... toneau cover...a fold up... duraliner... ALL synthetic fluids... Very clean...never abused... ...will deliver within 6 hours of Detroit... any offers?
  18. Used the endurance because it was the only one that was available...worked awesome ... thanks!
  19. We are all right in our opinions...I think you are all correct! What we all seem to forget is...a street race is only that...How many times have I and/or we "lost" because we did not know we where even racing? (I had him by 1/2 a length out of the hole) Ever been called out at 2:30 a.m. by a drunk driver in a ricer? (I am sure some rice site has me backing out of an unsafe race...that the ricer won...LOL) He or you left early...the first 60 ft is so crucial...if not the most important part of a race...us track guys know that for sure...a tenth in the first 60 equals a ton at the end... It is great when you can race under equal conditions...but that seldom happens on the street...IMHO...a street race is a good gauge how good our trucks run...bench racing is only one level below a street race...the track is really where it is at... I love to read all of our posts to see where my truck should 'rank' ...must be the testosterone huh? LOL But I still love the posts...and always will..so thanks to the fellow ssser's who post their 'conquests'...
  20. I think imho...Great race...too bad you did not race at the dragstrip... the bs stops when the flag drops.... nice to see how you matched up with a 'heavy hitter' truck huh?
