  2. Dude I would probably soil myself if I saw you!!! ...LOL Maybe I might need you some day... some union reps need protection!!! LOL
  3. I can see you are also well read and intelligent enough by your posting...Your post is all facts, not opinion or hearsay... I agree with you completely!!! Work hard brother...So we can preserve what our fathers and mothers fought for...Let us secure a future for the next generation... Solidarity forever...
  4. and one more thing...we pay income taxes alot of them...and we spend our money too...keep the jobs here...we as americans kick everyones ass in everything...yes there needs to be improvement, and that will surely happen...
  5. I have been a little busy lately, if you read on, you will know why, or I would have posted sooner... My background... I have had a job since I was 14 years old...I am 41 now...a typical hard worker like most of us here... I have done everything from deliver papers, pick fruit, McDonalds as a 'kid' to working in a bodyshop at a Cadillac Dealer for 12 years...until I took a job at General Motors... I started working for 'Delphi' in 1995 at a parts plant in Flint Michigan, the home of the UAW... I was hired in at $12.40 per hour, and I was also the lowest seniority person out there of the 12,000 employees... At first I was reluctant to work for such a low wage at the time because I was making double that as a painter at a dealer, until my boss decided he did not like me anymore because I would not pay him $200 per week if he gave me good work...So I worked on old 'customer pay' jobs and not 'insurance' collision work...ALL COMPLETELY LEGAL when you are non-union...look it up if you are an 'at will' employee... Although he committed fraud with the insurance companies on a weekly basis, I could never report it...not worth losing my job... I was also hurt at work once and missed a month of paychecks...I could not report/turn a claim in for workmans comp, or I would have been fired...not legal, but could I go a few months without pay and be blacklisted??? No... After working at a parts plant for over 2 years, I transferd to an automobile plant...I worked the assembly line for another 6 years until I entered the skilled trades program and became a 'pipefitter' and 'pipewelder'...I also have 2 associates and a bachelors degree...GM paid for my school...it was contractual/negotiated for me... I am now a elected union representative for the UAW here in Detroit at the General Motors Poletown plant... After I was hired at GM originally in Flint,I was married, soon after my partner gave birth to a special needs child... I learned all about great health benefits that where negotiated for me because of her medical needs... Did you know that if you are considerd 'castrophic' on your medical plan that they MAY cancel your health insurance at any time? Look it up... Mine was never threatend because of the union... I would have lost everything, and my daughter never would have had the standard of life she did if I did not have my NEGOTIATED benifits...so you can figure where my loyalty lies...for good reason... I am now an elected union representative where I work, I represent about 300 of the 1,900 whom work here... I can truthfully say...at least this.. there is no favoritism here...seniority and job performance rules... there is no sexual harassment...or someone is fired...guaranteed... we build world class automobiles here...eqaul or better than the 'asian' companies...look it up...'j.d. poweer and associates'... we have the most efficient and profitable work force in the world...an assembly worker here works 57-58 seconds of every minute, every day... The total labor cost to build either our Buick or Cadillac cost is approximately $2,000...we dont choose what we build, but we do it everyday in spite of poor engineering...ever have trouble working on a car?...we do it 8 hours everyday... 90% of my worker problems come from 5% of my people, I would guess that is human nature... Enough rant...LOL I could type more...but the carpal tunnel that I have because of working an assmbly line for 6 years is killing me...and it will never improve...
  6. What a p.i.a. ...LOL Just a little advice... Tools... Make sure you have a 1/2" drive breaker bar to loosen the #55 torx bolts/caliper pins....and the 18 mm bolts that attach the caliper mount brackets on the front and 15mm bolts on the rear, life will be easier...I broke a "snap on" 3/8 drive ratchet like it was nothin...1/2 drive saved me... just my $.02....
  7. Hey Zipmaster! I am looking for a LQ9 engine assembly part#...I want the long block...heads and all...I own a 2004 SSS I may just purchase a stock long block to keep on the side for eventuall replacement...or is there a 'drop in' engine replacement that would be better with just a PCM upgrade...? Your knowledge/guidance is appreciated... THANKS!!!
  8. Alrighty then...We break for lunch at 11 a.m....I will probably be out there viewing to go-fast stuff...with a few of my union brothers if it is not raining...
  9. Hey Joe! I am here at the plant today! Wanna tour? No building of cars today though... I will be watching from the roof later... Have fun! boB BTW...My SS is parked in the East lot near the East entrance...Black ...
  10. I have a Bully...It freezes/breaks every winter, so I replace it every spring...I have a Earnhardt spoiler, so such is the price of looking cool...
  11. Hey SSer's! I have been torn between black center or chrome wheels for awhile now... I stopped to visit a friend that I used to paint concours level showcars with for 12 years prior to my job at GM the other day, just to check in...And he showed me a cool set of black chrome rims that he thought would look great on my black SS... I told him they would look great...but would not match my emblems/bowtie...(I am kinda into matching stuff!) He then told me to take a peek in the spraybooth (my old office! LOL)...I saw a t-bucket roadster with 'chrome' paint on it...(Too sweet) Long story a little shorter, I am going to spray this new chrome paint on my bowtie/calipers/emblems, etc...with a black overlay so all the stuff will match...The stuff is $370 a quart, but should be worth it...We used to have high connections at PPG and Dupont, so we always had the latest and greatest paint products about a year before everyone else... I will post pics after I have it all done... At least I will stand out and the wheels have a special powdercoat that is guaranteed for 3 years, so I can leave them on in the winter! I will also do my radix and underhood stuff too! (when I get it in the spring...) stay tuned.. boB
  12. Does this include the sports drink??? LOL
  13. How hard are they to install? Do we need special tools? Thanks in advance... boB
  14. I have 85k on my truck...I am thinking about 'hawk' pads...I think I will do a search! LOL
  15. Hey....I could 'read between the lines'....Thanks Zippy...I am thinking what difference it would make changing my tune to a Zippy or Wheatley tune...hmmmm Would be cool if we coyuld have a 'tune off'...
  16. Aaron....Is taking care of me...He is sending the correct part...Good service... He gave me the wrong part number, but is fixing the problem... We are all human and make mistakes... Outlaw is making my situation right... Good company...Good people... I still recommend them...
  17. Whatever happend to the $100 ebay HID kits??? From what I read, it seemed either the $100 kit guys had good luck or bad luck...So the verdict is???
  18. Hey SS 'kooks'! I sent Aaron an email back in June about ordering a NeverOil filter element for my SS...He sent me a part number...and suggested that I order the filter from a separate supplier...I just received the part and it is wrong... Does anyone know the correct number? Thanks in advance... boB

    HID Help

Chime in guys on how good these hid lights actually work...I am a little paranoid paying $100 for something that is $300 everywhere else...Was wondering if it was really too good to be true.. Are they really that good? Thanks!!!
  21. I have the same plugs too! And the same results...I have over 40k on them already...
  22. Hey ss aficianado's... The drone/resonance from my flowmaster 'big block series' mufflers was driving me crazy...Maybe I am too old now? LOL...The drone was a pain in the ass at highway speeds... So I called up flowmaster to see if I could correct the noise problem without spending $500 or more to get a quieter exhaust... The tech told me to purchase one of their 'heat shields'...Hmmmm I pondered, how much a difference can it make? Well, it was $34 , and worth every penny...No more drone, and it still sounds great! It seems I have the best of both worlds now, I wish they would have suggested a heat shield when I purchased the muffler 2 years ago! If you have a flowmaster muffler, or maybe another type, and the drone is bad, I highly recommend getting a heat shield for the muffler...What a difference! It looks thin and chinsy, but made a HUGE difference...Just my .02...
  23. I don't think there are any number/ranking one or number two listings... They are listed as they meet qualifications...So they all meet the spec for ''top tier'...
  24. I am sure there will be debate on this...Take it for what it is worth...I switched stations... http://www.toptiergas.com/
