Ok ... I personally am not a huge baseball fan. But, Thursday night I went to Fenway Park to go see the Boston Red Sox!!!!! Been to a few games over the years.... And I really just love the atmosphere of the old park, the $6.50 beers and $7.00 sausages!!!!!! even at that price, you still have a good enough Buzz going, that you sing "Sweet Caroline" during the Bottom of the 8th inning............ So fellow SSS'ers, Who is your favoite team, and when are you going to go see them.....??? And remember ... "I support only two teams!!! The Boston Red Sox, and anyone who beats the Yankees!!!"

Hey All.... We have scored some tickets to go see "Larry the Cable Guy" in concert. We are going to the Palace Theater in Albany, NY. I guess he has 4 shows over a 2 day stint. (04/30/06) I was just wondering how the show was?? If anyone has seen it? I just love the whole "Blue Collar" tour ... As much as I like Larry ... I think I prefer Ron White better.... JMHO.... Kaotic1, I am so sorry to read this thread. It is so hard to lose a member of your family like that. Jenn and Myself had to put our "Molly" down in October, and if you remember, she was a Epileptic like your buddy. It always hurts to let them go, but you know in your heart, it was the right decision. Once again, I am sorry for you lose .... Like I said though ... Estimated is legit .... You "Estimate" the vehicle's speed, then you may use radar to confirm it. Estimate is perfectly ok to be checked .... So, BTW, what is the $$ amount??? That will tell you the actuall speed? You also do have a good gripe regarding behavior ... But, I be the cruiser video is a different question ..... There are about 3100 Troopers in Massachusetts .... and at about a $1000.00 per unit, I doubt a new boot has one instaled in his cruiser..... Keep us posted .... Good luck .......

WOW Chevygal ... sounds like you got a "New Boot" ... the 78th R.T.T. just graduated in Dec. '05, and are now off of Break-In. Being from your state, I will try to help you out. (Like Rays B4U, I don't want to step on too many toes in this department, but being unprofessional is not right either.) Yes, you can determine the speed of a car that is two cars behind you. One, there are new radar units that can give a reading if the vehicle is traveling in the same direction as you. (This is new, due to most radar, both vehicles have to be going in oppisite directions, or stationary.) Two, the Trooper can "Estimate". This is done during the Radar Certification at the Academy. You learn to "Judge" a vehicle's speed. You can "Clock" a vehicle by timing it between lightpoles, hashmarks ... etc. This can be done, but it has to be for a total of 1/4 mile (If I remember correctly) it's Massachusetts General Laws, Ch.90 s.17 (Speeding). Also, cruiser spedometers are calibrated to be "Exact" ... Are they?? Sure, but then how old is the cruiser, etc. etc..... But yes, checking Estimated and Clocked on a citation is perfectly normal/legal. What I don't understand is that he wrote down 85/90 on the ticket. It is Either 85 or 90. How much was the ticket for??? (First 10 over are a flat $100, then $10 for each mph over that.) SO, was I doing 85 or was I doing 90??? And if you cited me for 85, then why write 90??? (Or Visa Versa) Now if he acted unprofessional in your opinion, I would Appeal it. That way you can have you voice heard in court. This will be done at the district court level, usually with a Clerk Magistrate. If you don't like the dicision that is rendered, you can still Appeal that to a Judge's hearing. Don't fall for that, "If the Officer doesn't show up, that ticket is out" stuff. Many Barracks and Dept. have Court Officers. We have one officer who goes to court on ALL our citations. This is perfectly legal. Due to he is reading from MY report of the citation. I only go to court for motor vehicle citations, only if they appeal it to a Judge's Hearing. You stated that you wrote down what the Trooper said. I give you credit, most people don't, or wait waaaaaaaaay after the fact to do so. I always get the "He said" in court. Judges take way more stock in it, if you have it written down. So appeal it, keep a calm mind and speak your side in court.

Hello everyone.... The wife and I are at the point in our lives that a new TV is needed. Amazingly, she wants the biggest TV we can afford, that will fit within a 62" span. We want to mount it over the fireplace. We Really like the LCD's. Saw a really nice Sony Bravia - 40" ... but it is just that, 40"s .... It isn't big enough... They say there is a 50" LCD ... But it is HUGE $$$. We looked at the Plasmas ... the 50"s are right up our alley, but, we have heard things in the past regarding the Plasma's gases breaking down quickly, and the TV is no good in a couple of years ... (That's what we heard, maybe a rumor or stuff like that) We like the Panasonic 50". We saw one Projection TV ... the SONY Grand WEGA 60" .... I must say, this thing is the BOMB!!! May be projection, but Damb, the Quality of the Pic is AWESOME.... So, Please help us.... Which is better Plasma, LCD or Projection? We are looking to spend around $3000-$4000 for one... A little more is OK, if it is needed. Secondly ... I said I'd buy the Home Theater package stuff too. So, Do I get a good one of those "Home Theaters in a BOX" deals, or do I buy one piece by piece? Looking to get one with a HD DVD player and all the stuff for around $1500. (Any suggestions on what to get would be awesome) .... Keep in mind, it is an old Farm House, and it is Plaster and Lath walls..... Too much BOOM BOOM and the plaster will start to crack ... LOL.
