  1. hahah seriously... are they coming soon?
  2. Congrats!!! No kids yet myself. I did become an uncle a couple years ago. It's an awesome feeling. Good luck with it And get used to the no sleep thing... from what my dad always told me it stays that way for a LOOOONG time.. pretty much never stops according to him.
  3. I've always had something for yellow cars/trucks
  4. Yeah, when my truck was in getting the body work taken care of back in Feb the F****R gave me a 92 celebrity or something like that... I didn't even drive it. The only reason I even asked for a loaner was so I didn't HAVE to drive one of the duramax diesels for work. Needless to say I ended up driving the dmax!
  5. I'm gonna have to check into that. I haven't really been happy with XM lately... I find myself listening to the same 6-8 stations and that's about it... Everytime I scroll through I hear the same old stuff. I'm interested in what sirious has to offer. Is it really that much better??? I'm on my way to class, otherwise I'd log on and check it out. I'd like to keep it working with the stock radio... so this sounds good!!!
  6. That's cool; same story here, my dad's dad was the only other gearhead in the family. I'm sure your great grandad would have loved your truck. So, when's the all-nighter scare-the-neighbors multi-kegger open house?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah, you gotta do that! Let the neighbors know who the new kid in town is haha
  7. sad but true... sounds pretty descriptive
  8. LMAO!!! I know right??? What's that all about. Thanks Bob... I needed a laugh!!!
  9. Is the Zippy event not good enough for ya? I'm not sure of anything else going on. The gf is coming with me and she's not much of a gear head... ok- she's not at ALL a gear head. She was looking for some other stuff in the area. YOu can come golf with some of us Should be a good time!!!
  10. I think the 80's were great.
  11. NICE. Definately wanna see more vids
  12. yeah, i did see it lowered. Now i'm gonna have to spend 7-800 on having it done Yes, it is painted. I talked to the GM body shop that did the bumper work when that a**hole backed into me and they said they would take it off for somewhere around 100 bucks. The shop manager gave me a doughnut looking thing (he called it an eraser) that you put in a drill. He also gave me some stuff to wipe on to take the tough parts off. I just didn't wanna mess with it until I was SURE I wanted it gone. Plus, for 100 bucks I'd rather have them do it. The guy I got the truck from who put the paint on is a local guy and they've already taken it off a tahoe he had it on a few years back so they know what works. It does look a lot better in person. I've never been able to take a pic and say I like it even 1/2 as much as I do in person. It just sucks because I also like it without.
  13. Buying from family is the best way. I got mine for 20k off of the appraised because I bought it from my father. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but even better yet is having your family build you a brand new house labor free. Having a construction background is definately something nice to have. Plus, being in the business gave us the opportunity to have some of the best people do some of the other work- usually at somewhat of a discount due to all the work my fam uses them on other jobs. I think we ended up putting about 65k in equity in my brothers house 6 years ago when we built it. The mortgage was only 100 and if he sold the house right now 6 years later he could easily get close to 200.
  14. Yeah, I guess in some sense. For me though it's different because I've done construction for like 10 years. When we (my brother and I) bought that house in April we basically gutted it and redid EVERYTHING. Had it reappriased 5 weeks later and raised the value almost 40k. But even without a construction background... if you buy a house its ultimately going to raise in value. Even if it does in relation to the other houses, it's still appreciating. If you went to sell it, in most cases, you'd make money, you'd just have to spend more to buy again. I bought the 2.5 acres for 46k and in 7 months I had an offer to buy it for 90k. There really isn't acreage out by me anymore... atleast not without going tons farther west. So if I sold it- it would cost me that much more elsewhere. I probably would have sold it too if it wasn't the perfect place I've always wanted to build. My parents just bought property in dixon, IL and are putting up a weekend house. They got the land for 12k and that was one of the more pricy ones right by the water. They have decent sized lots in there for 3-7k. THREE THOUSAND!!! I'm thinking of buying a few of them and just waiting till the area grows. 99.9% of the time you can't lose with real estate. The only reason we bought that house was because it has a 6 car garage that we get to use for our lawncare/landscaping business. The couple that rents it pays the whole mortgage and all we end up having to pay is the taxes. Not bad for use of a 6 car garage all year long. We did the whole mini storage thing for a while and it was basically just blowing money away.
  15. Congrats man! Theres no better purchase than a home. Bought my first house this last april. I bought 2.5 acres a couple years ago as well. Real estate is definately where the money is at. There's just no better investment.
  16. Thanks for the input guys... and thanks Big O for the photoshop help. The pic really doesn't show what the paint looks like... and if I take a pic close enough to see it you cant see enough of it... regardless of the choice it wont be off before the Zippy Event so anyone who is going there can see it up close and personal
  17. A couple was invited to a swanky family masked fancy dress Halloween party. The wife got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone. He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need for his good time to be spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went. The wife, after sleeping soundly for about an hour, woke Without pain and as it was still early, decided go to the party. As her husband didn't know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not with him. So she joined the party and soon spotted her husband in his costume, cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice "chick" he could and copping a little feel here and a lit tle kiss there. His wife went up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his new partner high and dry and devoted his time to her. She let him go as far as he wished, naturally, since he was her husband. After more drinks he finally he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had passionate intercourse in the back seat. Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went home and put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make up for his outrageous behavior. She was sitting up reading when he came in, so she asked what kind of time he had. "Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're not there." Then she asked," Did you dance much?" He replied, "I'll tell you, never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the spare room and played poker all evening." You must have looked really silly wearing that costume playing poker all night!" she said with unashamed sarcasm. To which the husband replied, "Actually, I gave my costume to your Dad, apparently he had the time of his life."
  18. Thanks!!! I'm still on the fence. Part of me likes it, part of me likes it off. HMMMMMMMMM
  19. I was wondering if someone could show me what my truck would look like if I took the barb wire paint off in this pic. For those that dont know I got the truck with 900 miles on it and the guy I got it from puts it on EVERYONE of the trucks he gets. I don't hate it... I'm just not sure I LOVE it. Thanks in advance!!! Chad I've also wondered what it would look like if it was lowered... but I don't wanna be demanding. I have NO idea how to use photoshop
  20. If you come there will be 1 more! Last year there was supposed to be somewhere around 40 and I think there was just under 20 that actually showed up. From reading posts it seems like a LOT more people have booked their room and are planning on coming this year. One can only hope!
  21. I might just buy all the leftovers so that the guys who didn't make it will see how important it is to show up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's what I'm talking about
  22. I can't believe it's already this time again! It seems like last week I was there last year! I guess it just shows how fast time goes by. Looking forward to meeting all you guys/girls that are still coming.
  23. Yeah, it looked like the girl was gonna
  24. that's the one with the lauren from Laguna Beach right? I've seen that show a few times. She's kinda hot <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep that her...All the girls on the show are real hot... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought that was the one. I'm in the same boat as you though, I never would have seen it if my gf didn't have it on a few times.
