    AC

So far so good. I picked the SS up at 4:00 and drove to the gym and then back home. It is about a 25 min drive for me. I jacked with the controls on both passenger and driver, turned it on and off and turned the inner airflow on and off. It worked fine. The part they replaced is the Cycle Switch, P/N - G-89040362 -- $22.30 I was charged 1 hour to diagnosis the A/C -- $57.46 (the didn't figure out anything) I was also charged 1 hour to r&r switch -- $57.46 (should have been 30 mins) $137.22 total for job + $5.00 EVN charge (code 0615)???? + 11.38$ tax for a grand total of ankle grabbing for $153.60 I'm not sure where the switch is located......... The mechanic said that he's seen this switch go bad on several different models, but not a silverado SS. I am the only Silverado SS around though... But at least someone could maybe save an hour labor charge of diagnostic. Brian

    AC

Took the SS in to the dealer this morning. I figured this would happen. At the dealer the AC worked fine. They said they have run the truck for an hour and drove the truck for about 20 mins and adjusted all of the controls and it works fine. They said they pulled some service bulletins and there is a system switch that has went out on a few vehicles. The switch is 35$ + labor to install. Then I have a diagnostic fee, and all said and done, I'm looking at around 150$ bucks today. If it fixes it though, I don't really care. I'll post the P/N of the part they replace and anything else that I could help with. Brian

    AC

I don't believe mine is low on freon. In my past experiences, when it is low, it will not work at all because the high pressure or low pressure sensor kicks off the compressor. Mine works great when it kicks on. I think I read somewhere that there is a relay that has caused some problems on the Silverado's. I'm just going to call the dealer and make an appointment. It kills me when it's not working. I'm hot blooded anyhow. I run the AC in the winter. Brian

    AC

Has anyone taken their truck to the dealer with the sporadic AC problem? Mine seems to be getting worse. I had a 20 min drive to work and it worked right for maybe 2 to 3 mins of that drive. It's very frustrating. I am waiting for someone to take it in and know what was causing the problem because if I just take it in, I will get raked over the coals on money. It never fails, if I can get screwed over it will be done. If I know what needs to be fixed and where, I can explain it to them and have it done. Thanks! Brian

    AC

My 03 is doing the same thing. Last night on my way home from a buddy's house I could not get the AC to work for the life of me. I tried turning it off, turning it back on, sometimes that works. It was a 30 min drive and it started working about a mile from home. Very annoying now that it is in the mid 90's some days here. I'm curious to see what's the problem. Brian
