Bought my 05 with like 13 miles and now it has 17,000. The first 16,000 were between 05-08

is it C notched? and how bad does the front rub?
Yes it is c-notched. It rubs very little at full turn lock. The rear should be lower. I've been wanting to cut the bed to clear the 14 bolt but don't have the guts to do it.

Thanks cmoney, I'm gonna be removing the SS reps soon. They might be going on my rcsb
-
That silver ones is on 20's its ****ing low!
I'm pretty sure those are 22s
-
How low is that? What size are the rims and tires. Looks really nice
6 inch drop up front and 8 inch drop out back. 22x10 w/ 285/35/22. Thanks. I'm due for change though. Truck hasn't changed in the last 5 years. It's only racked up 1000 miles tops since 2007.

Mine is a couple inches lower than what you're looking for

PM Norcal SS on here. My cousin just ordered some from him 20 minutes ago and saved about $20-$30
-
PM me if a 2005 Silverbirch 2WD SS interests you. It only has 17k miles.

I'll take it. Paypal is ready when you are

Do you guys think 17's with stock tires be ok? Or something else? How much are good track tires? Thanks.
I don't think so. With lighter wheels, I think you'll just have a harder time launching the truck. Mine feels like it's on ice with stock 16s in the back. Maybe your track has a lot better prep than ours but my 26x11.5x16 et streets play a huge role in my times. It dead hooks and gets me 1.9 short times.

We got a couple ss's 2wd down here that are fbo, tune, run 17's all around they ran mid 13's. And a bbuddy of mine ran 13.5 in a 6.2 crew cab with intake and tune also 17's all around
By 17s all around, do you mean on street tires or drag radials? Stock tq converter?

17's and headers and it would be mid 13's all day. Nice times man
I wish it was that easy. I'm thinking bogarts might get me 13.5s but I'd rather spend that coin on a cam and tq converter.

Hell of a time. Mine has only gone a best of 14.50 on my 22s and et streets put me at 13.69. I'm positive you're 13.9s on stickier tires. I got a couple more mods too. Your truck is running strong! Was that at Famoso?

I wanted a Silverado SS since they released them. I wouldn't buy one until they released it in 2wd. I was in the dealer the minute I heard about the 2wd. I owned it a couple weeks later.

wouldn't be interested in selling the set of wheels up picked up would ya
For what I paid for them, I would feel guilty selling them. I might get rid of them though and a few others as soon as I get my bogarts. 7 sets of wheels is getting crowded in my shop.

Mine is gonna sit on these in the garage now. The truck has only been driven 800 miles in the last 3 years anyway.

Wow! Thats really fast for those mods! I can't believe you trapped higher than your brother did? That doesnt sound right to me... Both ran really strong though. I assume your brothers truck is a 2wd as well?
His tune is way off. He was trapping 98-99 before the cam/tq converter. Yes his is 2wd as well. We were hoping for high 12s out of his.

I too love your truck, looks sick.
Thanks

Ok, yeah i really need to stick some 17's w/drag radials in the back of mine. I have similar mods (except pulley) but have a circle-d converter, id be happy whit high 13's. Last time out at the track i ran my best so far:
2.46 60ft (crappiest 60ft ive ran)
9.7 1/8th
76 MPH
Thats full weight (except spare) and on 22's spinning alot.
Yea you definitely need traction. I can't remember off the top of my head exactly what it was but I ran a 14.50 on my 22s with a 2.4 60'

A couple pics my little brother snapped with his phone

Mid 13's with bolt-ons! Nice work.
Thanks but I think thats all its got in it. I dont think I left anything on the table besides maybe a lighter driver
My last time out with no nitrous, my 60' was a best of 2.01 and trapping 13.80 @ 99.7 mph at Spokane Raceway Park. We quit going there because of crappy track officials and after I ran my 12.69 with nitrous, they asked me not to come back without fire coats and stuff. So we started going to Renegade Raceway this spring. When my transmission started acting up I took out the bottle and ran without it. I had a couple 60' of 1.99 and 1.97 and running 13.95 full weight and nitrous tune/TR6 plugs. So I just thought I'd see what it would do with more timing, stock spark plugs, no tailgate, no back seat, and my 18s off my RCSB (they weigh 47lbs) and 26x11.5x16 et streets
-
What are your mods if you dont mind me asking.
Cai, LT headers, magnaflow, asp pulley, hp tuners, and 26" et streets. Same as when I ran the handful of 13.8s in 2009 only thing different now was a little less weight.

I scored these while I was there. Not sure yet which truck they will go on. Somebody needed cash really bad though and I'm glad I was at the right place at the right time

Me and a group of friends went to Renegade Raceway today. This spring I took the truck out on nitrous and the tranny started slipping a little from 2-3 so a new tranny is in the works but I wanted to run it one last time before the cam and tq converter go in. On a 150 shot it slips but without the nitrous it didn't skip a beat. I ran a 13.82, 13.88, 13.77, 13.79 and a 13.69. Here is the slip of my best pass. I ran against my little brothers 06 vortec max. He's got boltons and a circle-d 278mm converter on a tsp 224 cam shifting at 6300

anybody using lowering leafs?
in Suspension & Brakes

I used Belltech #5952 when I was lowered 2/4. They are 3" leafs but on mine it went lower. The ride was real stiff. I ended up using air shocks and it was better until I decided I wanted to go lower. We installed them on another truck when I took them off and he ended up taking them off cause he didn't like the "harsh" ride.
