Just wondering if anyone has ever rebuilt a tranny pump. I'm currently looking at buying all of the parts for my tranny (beast shell, alto red eagle clutches, vette servos, etc., etc.) and I wanted to get the parts required for a pump rebuild, but I don't know what all is involved in the process. Help?
If it was still pulling strong 1st n rev ,you probably wont need anything other than a front seal and the other plastic pieces......and all of that stuff comes in the rebuild kit.
I use a hose clamp and a 2 bolts for pins to line up the pump halves
if you can find a long enough worm gear house clamp to go around the outside edge of the punp get it ,or you can put a couple of clamps together to make it long enough.
line up the halves with OUT the outer o-ring on it and make sure the bolts you use are not sloppy in the holes, drop the bolts in opposite of each other and tighten the crap out of the clamps .that way the pump is lined up 2 ways. Torque the pump bolts down , take the clamp an 2 line up bolts off, leave the teflon seals and the outer oring off ,now you should be able to drop the pump into the case w ease if its alined correctly
pull it back out and put your seals on and put it back in.
You will need a special tool to install the seals on input shaft also
good luck

Heres a link to one of the auctions: EBAY
I was thinking about getting em before I blacked out the reflectors myself, and now Im starting to want em again. Does anyone on here have these? If so how do they look and how long have you had em? Any fogging up or anything? They look good in the pic shown in the auction but if you have a picture of them on your truck Id like to see that to get a more realistic view of em...
Im just pissed cause my lower passenger side turn signal light has a little haziness on the inside that wont go away. PLus they actually have reflectors, I spray painted mine black so that pretty illegal and dangerous. Besides its only $150- which is kinda what Im afraid of though.
Heres the pic from the auction, sellers name is lokakech or something--
thanks for the help
I have a set of them ,didnt like them .This is what im running now

Since you spilled the beans yes I will confirm, I am copying/refining the installation kit from my truck for sale, I will announce it as soon as I get a couple of volunteers to try it out & verify fit/finish as well as write-up the instructions. The initial product will use steel lines (just like factory) because it's more durable in the long run and costs a whole lot less.
Im waiting Trans is cookin!

So it started as only a little bit of paint bubbling up and now it looks like this
Has this happened to anyone else? and im not sure how to fix it i could just peal off the rest of the paint and hit it with some krylon fusion, but im afraid it wont look very good. I could get a new break duct but is 100 buck from gm parts direct. What would you guys do?
Mine too ,but GM gave me some new one's FREE

Please Help! Klanking/rattling Noise
in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
Posted
At first there was nothing then the noise sounded as if it was coming front the front diff, almost like the axle spun freely for a split second then caught.
Please any info would be greatly appreciated
Rob
By what you just described it sounds like the Viscious clutch in transfer case is going bad, drain fluid if its looks like some bad grease or a silver color thats your problem.if you catch it in time you can change it with out replacing the whole unit. The viscous clutch works like a limited slip diff if that helps
Good luck
