  2. Here's the deal 2005 Silverado SS RWD. I was driving to the last truck meet cruising at 75mph. I started going up hill when I started slowing down. I tried to give it more gas and the engine rev-ed up. Eventually the truck slowed and would only do 30 mph in second gear. I drove it home. Slowly. The disconnected the battery for about 1 hr. Then the truck drove fine. I thought the problem was fixed. The next time I drove it it shifted fine thru the gears 1 time then repeated the 30 mph 2nd gear issue. Next, I changed the filter and oil. I also Ohm-ed all the solenoids, PSA, PCS, TCC, etc. Every thing checked good. The truck ran fine about 3-4 more time then started missing 3rd gear. If I got on it I could almost power thru and catch 4th gear. The whole time I kept scanning the truck, and it wasn't throwing any codes. So I went ahead and replaced the shift valves solenoids thinking may the coil opened up after it warmed up. The same thing repeated. Now the truck does 3rd-ish gear but will go up to 60 mph. I don't think it's the gears or clutches. I think its a other solenoid i.e. the control solenoid or maybe a grounding issue? I think I'll probably replace the control solenoid next. Any ideas?
  3. Get a good alarm, Alerttrac/CalAmp GPS tracker, and a Ravelco kill switch. These are a must in SoCal.
  4. ***** UPDATE***** I know this is an old posting. I finally heard back from the California LA DA's office. The guy that stole my truck was sentenced and is in prison. He was sentenced to 4 years for grand theft auto, and 2 years for evading, and hit and run. The court also ruled in my favor for restitution payments. So, when and if he ever gets a job his wages will be garnished.
  5. Sorry, to hear keep checking Craigslist. Its probably in South Gate getting stripped. Seems to be the trend. There is a guy name tony that has an unlimited supply of SS rims he selling off his Silverado SS. Except every picture of his SSS has a different truck.
  6. Jon AKA idahoBLKss makes all my stickers. He also made my SIlverado SS brake calipers stickers. His does good work.
  7. Which bumpstops with beltech c-notches? Red or yellow?
  8. I'm using the belltech street performance shocks.

  10. So, I'm installing a DJM 3/4" drop. When I get to the shock extender on the right of the truck. It just doesn't seem to line up right. The picture in the instruction does seem clear to me. The sloted hole doesn't seem to line up. Anyone have a picture of what it supposed to look like? And even though the rear shock are the same part number 1 is supposed to be longer? I am using belltech C-notched too. So which bumpstops do I use the red DJM ones or the yellow Beltech ones?
  11. I used the spray can caliper paint from Pepboys. I just cleaned the calipers really well. Then spray painted them. After they dried I put the silverado SS stickers, then applied the caliper clear cloat. They perfect still after 5 years.
  12. I did. I'm in the middle of of 3/4" drop. I figured I might as well since I would have it off.
  13. How much time can I shave off my 1/4 time with a shift kit in a SS with RWD.

It is qualcomm. That place sucks for tracks. I'm spinning the tires through the 60' ft mark and almost got sideways. I hook up better on the street. I leave on the 3rd yellow and got my reaction time to .560. I lowered my rear tire pressure from 32 to 20 psi, and had 1/4 tank of gas. My times actually got worse. I did better with 32 psi and 1/2 tank of gas. Maybe the weight transfer was better since I'm 2wd. Also, I had better 60' times launching from idle than 1000, 1500, 2000 rpms. I think with the rpms loaded and the suspension loaded it is causing an adverse reaction to the lauch by the suspension. Any thoughts?

  17. I have the front and rear sway bar from DJM and NORCAL SS installed with dual exhaust out the back. the rear might interfer I need a picture to be sure. The sway bars are worth getting. You'll feel a difference when you fly around a corner with the rear tires spining lol.

The best part of running at Qualcomm is there is so many ricers there. And I can beat them with my heavy / slow ass truck.
