    400 Ss ?

I know the old SSS were 454 SS. But this is the first I heard of a SRT10 Killer. I have heard of the concept Silverado RS with 505hp.

400 SS sticker? Is that for people who get a job, work for two or three years, save up all thier money, then hit the flea markets and buy every truck accessories know to man and put them on thier truck?

    400 Ss ?

So I'm driving on I-15 in So Cal and some with a silverado (late 90's body style) with 400 SS on the side comes a long. I'm preyty sure that it's some that's really dumb and thought this would be cool. He couldn't keep up with my SSS. Anyone ever heard of a 400 SS Silverado?
  5. Some of those might be my parts too!
  6. It is the worst feeling in the world. When my truck was stolen and stripped I felt sick to my stomach.
  7. I'm not big on the mud flaps unless it's the one with the girls. But they match your paint color nicely.
  8. Does anyone know the name of the car club that is suppected of breaking in to and stealing the Silverados in So Cal?
  9. My 2005 says Canada all over the engine beauty covers.
  10. My SS was stolen from the Brea, CA mall and found stripped in South Gate, CA. It looks like they stripped off body parts to dress up a regular Silverado. And from where and when the truck was found I have narrowed down to the block where they must have been working out of.
  11. My screen name is just a short version of Edward.
  12. I saw at the Orange County car show they had a lifted SRT-10. I think is some kind of fade. I have also a Black Sss that had a metal frame installed in the bed to carry ladders. Why would some do that to a performnace truck I don't know.
  13. My understanding of the AWD system is that the front wheels will spin a little faster to take the turns better. And they keep spinning when you gas it. where as a 4wd truck will cut power to those wheels. What could happen is you would be climbing a hill and the wheels would be spinnig and truck would slide down the hill. how ever tons of people spend money lifting their truck and never take them off road.
  14. Hey, I used to wear the same uniform. Good luck, be careful, keep up the fight. Semper Fi
  15. My 05 doesn't have heated mirrors. The owners manual says if you have the sliding window in the rear window you have a heated mirror. But if you don't have the sliding window you don't have heated mirrors. It's the same button.
  16. Just a heads up guys, I tried to save some money and paid $50 for a Trans-Dapt throttle body spacer with anti-whistle technology instead of the $100 Poweraid spacer. And the motherf#@*ker didn't fit. The fuel lines were too short and the throttle body it self was hitting the steel 45° elbow that returns the water back to the raditor. Supposed to take no more than 30 minutes to bolt on. So now I'm waiting for my poweraid throttle body spacer to come.
  17. Try Gaylord tonneaus. They go over and start down the sides. You can't see the spray liner. And it pops open with remote and has a dome light like a car trunk.
  18. Do you have them up some where so I can see them first?
  19. Here's the complete story from the beginning to answer everyone questions. I bought my SS in May of 05. I had it for three months. At the time I was in the U.S.Marines and was deployed to Iraq (for the 2nd time.) After almost a year I came back and got out of the Marine. I move to Brea, Califorina and was there for a few weeks. I just got the truck washed, waxed, and filled it up. Then went to the mall (Sears) at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday it was stolen and found that Monday missing several parts and covered in motor oil. My insurance company decided to get it fix even though that more then I payed on it. The insurance agent sucked. I thought USAA was a good insurance company but I guess not. And the body shop sucked even worse. Hi-tech collison and Auto Glass in Anaheim, CA. They took 9 months to put it back togather. And that's with fighting with the managers and thier corperate offices personal too. I have the truck now. It almost as good as it was when I had it stolen. I hear alot of road noise now. It sounds like a window is open all the time. I can't seem to track the problem down. But I had the body shop replace the carpet (wife spilled bleach on back floor.), and they put the wrong tonneau cover but it was better than the one I had on there before.
  20. Unfortunely yes. It was found in South Gate with all the body parts that make it different from a regular silverado stripped. It had less 15k miles on it.
  21. I recent came across these Low Profile electric cutouts, has one tried them out yet? http://marylandspeed.com/dmh-low-profile-e...cut-p-1313.html
  22. I just wanted to let everyone know if you live in Southern California (L.A. area) or are plan on visiting DON"T take your truck the Brea Mall. They are stealing Silverado out of there like crazy. They are gunning for the the SS model, too. Onstar didn't stop them either.
