Put myself in the Hospital in 2003 after flipping my fathers 2003 Yamaha Kodiak (may have had a couple beers that night)

  2. Have you ridden in a vehicle with led headlights? I have recently, i was quite impressed to say the least as i thought the same before. Just dont know if the technology is there for them to last a long time yet.. But it will be shortly im sure and we will all be running led headlights if i had to take a good guess at it..

How about some more info on this? What was it in? Brand of LED's?

  3. I do the same as Marty and clean and paint mine, but was wondering what the life span is on that stuff Jeff? Just curious, may have to get me some and try it out!

I have no experience with the stuff so I'm not sure of the life span. It was a pretty thick layer (could put your finger into it) that they put on my buddies truck. If I had kept my SSS I def. would have had it done before winter as piece of mind (not that I drove it in the winter anyways)

  4. Those pics are not mine. The above one is from a previous post and the second is from a Corvette forum. From measuring several factory spindles, taking the extremes, the variance was almost 1/4" if I remember correctly. On a stock configuration spindle/brake assembly, the pad doesn't sit at the very edge of the rotor, so a variance isn't a big deal. A happy medium was chosen for the brackets where most people shouldn't have to grind their calipers or machine the rotors hats.

Either way is a sacrifice. The original brackets you had to grind the Caliper to fit over the 15" rotor or have 3/8" of pad not making contact on 14" rotor. Along came Ray (supersub) that made the new redesigned brackets that didn't require grinding the caliper but I also don't remember my brake pads not making full contact with the 15" rotor. I know Ruby made the next batch of brackets......did you make changes to Rays brackets? Maybe that's the difference??
