$2.27 for 93 octane in NE TX.

Thanks for the help, but will it not fit with the airbox on it?

Can anyone tell me if a K&N filter will work with the GMPP CAI? I first thought it should but, I don't want to buy a filter and then have to take it back if it doesn't.

I don't care for the scoop on top of the scoop design. It looks tacked on as an afterthought.

I think it looks good AUTOGUY. I too have a Joe Gibbs spoiler on mine and have had lots of compliments on it. The only difference I see is that the bolt fastners on mine are not painted I think I must have got one of the last ones before they stopped production because about 2 weeks after getting it I checked the website and it was stating that production of the Joe Gibbs equipment had ended. Glad to see they are being reproduced and again, looks good!

How much weight do the spray in linings add to the truck?

Very nice looking truck. The only thing I don't care for is the SS emblems. They just seem a little too big. But, still, very very nice.

I had to have the entire rack and pinion steering replaced (under warranty thankfully) yesterday. I started noticing a squeaking sound when the steering wheel was turned past the first full turn to the left. My truck now drives night and day differently now. I wondering if the steering unit was bad to begin with. With 17,700 miles on my truck, I wouldn't expect this to happen. It sure seems like GM did not design a very good steering system with all the problems that have come up with these trucks.

GM just announced the closing of 4 full size truck factories including the Oshawa plant where our SSs were produced. This may be a deathblow to any future SS truck like we have seen with the new 427 blue prototype. Looks like gas prices are finally going to start really making a difference in what car companies produce. An end of an era may be on the horizon and the chance of a new full-size SS truck could be fading fast. Let's hope not!!

My parents bought me a brand new 1970 SS 396, 350hp Chevelle on Valentine's Day 1970 as an early HS graduation gift. Gobi Beige, black stripes, functional cowl induction, turbo 400 trans, and bucket seats. I have regretted getting rid of that car over and over and over.

Thanks guys, I never thought about that, but it makes sense because now that I think back, there was just a little tire chirp and then it did the bogging down thing. My truck is 2 wheel drive.

Today, just after filling up with the $3.47 93 octane gas, as i left the pumps a car comes out of nowhere and I punched the gas to get out of the way and my truck bogged like a carb. would sometimes do 30 years ago. It has never done this before, any ideas what is going on?

I'm not for sure, but I sold a house and I am contemplating buying an 07 Z06 after Uncle Sam gets his part. Still kinda up in the air though.

Try chevymall.com, they have some SS stuff like you are descri.bing

I think it looks good. So what if it's a
stuck on scoop. Isn't about half or more of the body cladding and tailgate spoiler on the SS stuck on? I think it's cool that someone is able to customize their truck to their own liking and especially do it themselves. Nice truck!

Thanks guys, I may go with the Keystone ram air instead.

I know this question has come up before, but does the Goodmark Cowl Induction hood hit the windshield wipers or not when the hood is raised. I thought I saw somewhere here on the forum that Goodhood had remeded this; Have they or not? I trying to decide between the Goodmark and Reflexion for my 05.

Just what does Chevy mean by the term "tuned exhaust" on the SS?
