  1. Justin, Me and kenny were standing in front of your truck and 2 dudes came up to us and asked if this was our truck. Of course, we said no, but i mentioned that i knew the owner and such. They continued on with telling us how bad ass it was and how they couldn't believe how good it ran. I modestly accepted there compliments on your behalf and went on my way. just thought you 'd like to know.
  2. Tim, saw your truck there on sat but couldn't find you anywhere.
  3. thanks for the kudos. i really love the wheels too. its a shame though, those pics do not do those wheels justice. they look so sick in person.
  4. I cant wait till mine comes i'm workin on it Joe
  5. yeah, 22's w/ stock suspension. u trying to tell me something?
  6. last october i bought the DER stuff because of that write up you did. i really liked it, very easy to use, and not as time consuming as Zaino. Also, the shine between the two i can't really tell which one is better, they both are awesome. The only difference i noticed with Zaino is that the rain does not just bead off the truck. After i drive through rain, then pull it in the garage, about 15 min's later, the truck is completely dry with no water spots. I've never seen anything like that before. One question i do have for you Dylan is how long generally does Zaino or DER stuff last? If i could get away with only doing this once in the spring and once in the Fall i'll continue to use it. Any more than that, i'll go back to carnuba wax just because i don't have the time to be continously waxing my truck. I do want to protect the paint from the elements though, so thats why i bought the best two wax/polishing systems i could get. So far, Zaino and DER stuff are both excellent products in my book.
  7. yep, did all the steps in this order: washed it with dawn soap clay bar washed again with zaino soap 2 coasts of Z-2 1 coat of Z-5 1 coat of z-2 used z-6 in between each coat
  8. yep, i'll be there around 11am or so. not bringing the ss though, just riding the bike down.
  9. not sure what would cause that problem? Nelson harness was easy to install and i didn't have any problems with mine. make sure you are in PIN 42 in your pcm ( if i remember correctly).
  10. I know the local guy Quick is talking about and have seen the tune in person using HPTuners. The tune that Bryan did was crazy lean and had caused serious KR issues. When the guy tried to get an update from Bryan, all he got was no email replies and excuses of how busy he was that it would take 2-3 weeks to get it. IMO that is
  11. I worked for about 14hrs on this ****ing thing over the weekend. Zaino is nice, very easy to use, makes the truck shine like a bitch, but not worth the effort. God damn was i sore the next day.
  12. i'll be there saturday as well.
  13. go to ebay and search for Iraggi alternators. Dominick makes good alts and they are reasonably priced.
  14. if i remember correctly, you and I had the exact same Magnaflow system and you had planned on cutting the resonators out like i did, until i realized that was a big mistake and warned you against it? either way, headers won't make your exhaust any louder. they will change the tone slightly, but you really won't hear any difference at all in volume levels. You are correct. After seeing that you said it sounded bad I removed the tail section and the muffler section, and ran with just the resonators. I like the sjound that it gives aggresive without being overboard. I plan to add headers, x pipe, and finishing a tail section soon. sounds awesome, keep us informed!
  15. i lucked out and found a shop that does awesome work and only using stainless. the only part of my whole exhaust that is not stainless is the flowmaster mufflers. i found out afterwards that flowmaster now offers ss mufflers. also, there is a night and day difference in sound between this setup and my corsa. if this is the system you really want, you won't be happy with the corsa. way way too quiet unless your at WOT, then its

  17. oh, i forgot to mention, Bill (wkdivr) and I went to Summit Racing on saturday for the car show thing they had going on. I spoke to the Flowmaster Rep. and told him about the setup i was building. He highly recommended staggering the mufflers like i have them. He said that is what keeps the resonating (drone) from occurring in the cab because the sound waves can escape from between the mufflers. Not sure on that, but it does work in my situation.
  18. Well, as some of you know, this is the 3rd aftermarket exhaust i've had on my SS in less than 4months. first exhaust i had was a magnaflow cat-back, dual in, single out. it was nice, but too quiet for me. then i put the corsa sport on. again, very nice system, but too quiet for me. I was talking to Quick online the other day and told him i wasn't happy with my exhaust and he suggested i talk to Jeff at 1st Try Engineering here in Pittsburgh. Well, two days later, i finally got what i've been looking for in a exhaust setup. It consists of 2 Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and all mandrel bent, stainless steel 2.5" pipe. All TIG welded. here are the pics. man, this thing sounds AWESOME! exactly what i was looking for, and the best part about it is NO DRONE at highway speeds!
  19. thanks for the reply. i couldn't wait so i wired it up just guessing what was what. i got the power and ground backwards and when i hit the switch something under the dash started smoking! there was a pretty good bit of smoke. about as much as one puff on a cigarette. i got it all working and wired correctly, but i can't figure out what i fried under the dash. i looked under there for an hour and can't see any burnt wires and everything seems to be working ok. any suggestions on finding what caused the smoke? should i just forget about it since everything is working?
