  1. ok i will give that a try. I had to move it just before and drove up the block in reverse and it was ok...go figure. I am still going to go back and lube it up and check it all out again. Let you konw how I make out. Bryan
  2. 4L60E/65E Towing shift kit. This kit is designed for all around use in a well rounded truck. It will also work well in cars. Towing in overdrive is much easier done with this kit and without fear of killing the 3-4 clutch set or the 2-4 band. It will shift firm and quick, but not harsh. that is what the description of the kit said. It did have a corvete servo, some new springs. Had to drill the plate and block a hole up on the valve body. I did not touch anything that was not in the directions. I would have figured that I installed some wrong and it would not move thanks for the help, I will try to call zippy tomorrow and ask him what he thinks. bryan
  3. well After having the towing shift kit from zippy for about 6months now and a tranny shop telling me I can not install that kit and that I don't have a 4l65e tranny, I took it upon myself to do it today. Took me about 4.5 hours from start to finish. It was not to bad, just took my time and I was done. However, i do have one small problem. Forward is fine, shifts great. The problem is reverse. It goes into gear but when I give it some gas it shutters. ALso when i am backing up a hill (my driveway) it shutters even worse. Show I not drive it until I figure this out? Does anyone have an idea what I did wrong? zippy do you have an idea? thanks in advance Bryan 05sss
  4. AH I see..thank you. I Did not think about mounting it on the metal down there. i wanted to avoid drilling into the plastic panels so that might be where It ends up Bryan 05 SSS 78 Malibu
  5. finished the wiring on the trailer and all the lights are working. NOw I am just wondering where some of you mounted your brake controller? I have few Ideas just wondering what worked for you guys. Bryan 05 SSS 78 Malibu
  6. thank you for the help. I will have to check that out and see if the fuse is there or not. Bryan 05 SSS 78 Malibu
  7. I did turn the key to the on position, that is why I got stumped as to why there was not power. bennytheflash What fuse(s) are you refering to? It is in the engine compartment fuse box? I did not know about adding a fuse to make that work. ANy info on this would be great, thanks for the help, I am sure that is why I dont have power there. Bryan 05 SSS 78 malibu
  8. Got a question about the SSS trailer connector. To make a long story short, I am putting electric brakes on my trailer. I know all I have to do is add the brake controller to the SSS and I am good. MY question is when I read the info I have on the wires for the trailer, it is saying that the #4 spot on our plus is a power supply. I want to use that for the lights inside the trailer, but I don't seem to be getting power to that port on the plug? I had the trailer plug in and had no power to that wire and then I check the connector right on the SSS and had no power to it. I had brake lights, running lights, back up lights, electric brakes, and a ground, but that positive terminal was not working. Is there something I have to do to get it to work? I assumed that it would work. If anyone has any input it would be of great help. I need to know whether or not I can use that plug for power or not. If I cant I will just use the parking lights to power my lights inside my trailer. Thanks in advance to all for any input you can give me. Bryan 05SSS 78Malibu
  9. does anyone have a copy of instuctions for a zippy shift kit? The link that was posted does not work for me.... If someone has them please let me know. I am going to try and do the shift kit myself now, but will need a little help with the directions. thanks Bryan
  10. which gaskets...on the valve body and seperator plates? Yeah he is telling me that where the servo goes, it is a different size... I guess I will have to take a ride to GM and ask them for some part numbers. Bryan
  11. I triple checked with zippy if his kit would fit. He confirmed all three times. I am being told now from the tranny guy here and a few other sources that the valve bodies are different in 2005 on the 4l65E. The did he puts together is up to 2004 before they changed the valve body. The tranny guy here tried to install a corvette servo on a new trans and it did not fit, the vavle bodies were completely different. Any way I can find this out for sure? I guess I would have to got to GM and ask for part #'s on the vavle bodies and see if they are different. Guess that should work and answer these questions. I will also try to drop Zippy a PM and inform hi of this. I just dont want to open up the trans and find this out the hard way. Bryan has anyone here installed a zippy shift kit on a 2005 SSS? If so what did you use?who installed it for you or did you do it yourself? thanks Bryan
  12. WEll I bought a shift kit from sippy (Towing shift kit) and was going to have a tranny shop install it. But the guy was trying to tell me I have a 4l70E...I proved him wrong and set him straigt. NOw he is telling me the the value body on the 2005 are different. Is this true? He said if they are different he can not install the shift kit. He is just trying to make sure all will fit and work. Can anyone enlighting me if they have any info on this. Thanks in advance to all

  16. I just used the "search" function of the site and it helped out yet again. I just want to make sure I understood what I read. I am going to be putting electric brakes on my trailer very soon. So I am going to want to install a brake controller in the SSS. From what I was reading, all I have to do it plug the controller in? Also what brands of brake controllers are good and bad? ANy help would be great. thanks in advance for the advice Bryan
