  1. Just announced yesterday, Matt Hughes will fight Geoege St. Pierre in Dec. for the interim welterweight title. After Serra recuperates he will face the winner to unify the title. He isn't real crazy about this idea and says he wants Hughed to win so he can fight him. Also Dan henderson is fighting Anderson Silva in March to unify the Pride and UFC middleweight titles.
  2. According to www.mmaweekly.com, Matt Serra suffered a herniated disc in his lower back this week and will not be able to defend his title against Matt Hughes. No estimates as to when he'll return to action or who, if anyone, Hughes will face. Karo Perisian is looking for a title shot, maybe Dana will look at letting him fight Hughes and the winner can fight Serra for the title. Who knows?
  3. I bet it's because it's red. lol. Actually, Were I not going thru a divorce, I'd be lookin' to trade my onyx 03 for a blue 04. Maybe next year.
  4. For those that are into MMA, www.mmaweekly.com is THE site to frequent. Chuck and Silva ARE fighting on the 29th of Dec. along with Hughes and Serra. This site will give you a run down in the rumors section for the upcoming MMA events for the next 4-6 months and the world rankings. By the way Brock Lesner of WWE fame is under contract with the UFC and fights in Feb. I think.
  5. Electronics lead technitian for a defense contractor. We do installs on Navy submarines.
  6. I made that trip from Anchorage to Mongomery back in 98. Beautiful scenery.
  7. I'm a contractor and am working on the Michigan until November. Was over at Bangor on the Nebraska since April, then here on the Ohio since July. Might as well take up residence out here almost.
  8. To everyone thats wiggin about me puttin' something on Jeffs, think about the website I refered him to. Obviously, it's like Rays b4u said, I have more respect for someone elses truck than to take the chance of scratching it or make anyone think I was vandalizing it, as I have one too. Chill out.
  9. Jeff, I left the note on your truck. I'd seen it around for the last month or two and been meaning to print out the flier that Mervz put on here for us and never got around to it. I park in the lot behind the turn stile gate. I'm driving the white Titan (Hertz rental). I left a few fliers on trucks at the base in Norfolk, but none of them joined I reckon.
  10. That flying alligator would prolly insight a new huntin' season.
  11. Did 7 years active in the Army (Airborne) & 3 in the Gaurd, my brothers a Staff Sgt in 82nd Airborne now, spending another 12-15 months playing in the sand box(his 3rd tour). Now I'm a defense contractor(6 yrs) also on submarines.
  12. Just heard on the news last night that Denis Leary and his wife are donating 100K to the families of the 9. His statement said that this subject is close to him because his cousin was one of the Worchester 6. I just said to my wife 2 days ago that I would assume that actors like John Travolta, Jaquim Pheonix (both in Ladder 49), Kurt Russell (Backdraft) and Dennis Quaid (Frequency, as well as currently/formally? owning a home in the Charleston area) would donate or say something about this. I would hink that making those movies would have given them a greater sense of appreciation for those who actually do those jobs for far less money than they probably make for just an appearence.
  13. Defense contractor on Submarines
  14. Just got home from Louisville, Ky (seeing my dad (alzheimers sucks)). Didn't take my laptop with me so I couldn't reply earlier. I grew up about 6 miles or so from the site of that fire, and the wife and I had just ridden by there Saturday night. This is the biggest loss of Firefighers lives since 9/11. Rudy Gulianni was here Friday for the memorial. They had to have the memorial in our 12,000 seat colisium due to the turnout. They're saying that there were 10,000 out of area Firefighters present from between 700-800 stations across north america. Some from as far as Alberta Canada. The memorial procession was over 300 firefighting and rescue vehicles. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and the brother Firefighters of all those Firefighters killed here and elsewhere. My stepdaughters family are mostly City of Charleston Firefighters and are obviously greaving. 6 of those that were killed were from her uncle's station. It's my belief that Firefighters and Police officers, Constables and Deputies are the common everyday and unfortunatly easily overlooked and forgotten heros of our communities and we all owe them a huge debt of graditude for what they sacrifice for us evryday. Here's to ya bro's...
  15. http://www.automobilemag.com/future_cars/2...t_corvette_z07/ Dont know how current this is, but I hadn't seen it yet and figured ya'll wanted to see it.
  16. quote//Why can't I get a meal south of Ohio without a big nasty pile of GRITS? Hole up now Bob, lets not cross the line here. LOL Grits are awsum, but youz guyz call your version cream o' wheat I think. I'm not to keen on cream o' wheat myself. As far as we're (southerners) concerned, just about everything is better deep fried. Of course, as a whole we probably have a shorter life span because of it.
  17. Hey man, don't hate. Most yankees and left coasters dont normally eat what we do down here. We probably eat a lotta stuff ya'll normally wouldn't try. By the way, for those that don't know, BBQ isn't putting burgers and dogs on a grill (ex. We're BBQing on the 4th of July). BBQ is the beef or pork itself. But thats a whole other discussion. Quick story... when the ex and I got to Alaska we ordered BBQ sandwiches from a delivery place. What showed up was sliced roast beef with Heinz 57 on it. We're looking at each other like WTF.
  18. Yeah, I've head a lot of the stories on them. I'm a former paratrooper stationed at Bragg as well.
  19. quote..I prefer mexican Judo Judon't know if i got a knife or a gun .. Thats funny as hell!! I'm also interested in taking up some type of MMA. I've heard numerous times that most street fights end up on the ground, but at times some skilled striking can prevent that. I'm looking for a good balance of both. In my area most of what is taught is Tai Kwon Do(sp?). I talked to one instuctor and brought up the grappling to him and he didn't have much to say. He seemed to think that his way was best, though thru watching UFC it pretty much looks like you need to be well rounded. I haven't heard of Krav Magra before but will check it out. I would imagine that it also utilizes close quarter techniques as well, which I'm interested in learning. I'm sure bodygaurd would know. BTW Bodyguard, are you former military trained? I've heard that most of the guys in your line of work like those with Blackwater and companies like that are former SF, Seals, Delta, Force Recon or Rangers.
  20. Right, Its been like 10 years since I've been there so memorys a little cloudy
  21. By the way, I was stationed in Anchorage for 3 years and know, from going to Fairbanks, where North Pole is. Took pics of the distance sign 15 Miles (If I remember right) to North Pole. It's near Ft Wainwright.
  22. I have put those fliers that Mervz made on probably 20 different trucks up 'n down the east coast, and dont ever see anyone get on here and say "someone put a flier for this site on my truck so I thought Id check it out." Maybe they look but dont join.
  23. UPDATE.... according to Jayski.com there will be an announcement today at Darlington by RCR saying that JR is going there. They were working a deal into last night to sign him to drive the 3 or 33, we'll see what happeans. By the way if most of you didn't know Teresa Earnhardt is primarily responsible for all the trademarked driver stuff in Nascar. She got Sr to do it, and most others followed suit. The design of team #'s, sigs, the "Intimidator" name, images, audio, collectibles, anything associated with Sr or DEI she suggested he do and he did and made millions from it. I agree she is stubborn, but she has made a huge impact in the way drivers are marketed to the public and how drivers make money off of soveiners. Basically he made the $ driving, and she orchestrated the investments that made him multiple times that amount in soveiner income and its still paying off. CNN just said that Jr is # 19 on forbes highest paid atheletes list with over 20 million a year, DEI could lose up to half of its 57 million dollar value when he leaves, and Bud only puts more money into the Superbowl than it does JR.
  24. According to Jayski.com Jr is leaving DEI at the end of the year and taking Bud and Truex ( qnd possibly Bass Pro Shops) with him. They both will drive for JR Motorsports with Hendrick engines in cup starting next year. The official press release is suppose to be at 11 am today ( 5/10).
