  1. It's funny I should read this thread. I haven't logged on this site in months. It's really close, but there's been a 12.76 ran in a stock blocked RCSB hemi ram. But no doubt your making much more power, I think his race weight was around 4400-4500lbs. That's a freaking awesome time BTW!!! What's your truck weigh??

  2. yeah well it'd take a hell of a lot more than an intake/headers/exhaust for a hemi to beat a stock tundra. You'd need all that plus cams and a tuner, and thats just to beat a stock tundra.

Actually it doesn't. My truck ran a 13.88 with only a CAI, longtubes, and a superchips. And that was with a peg-leg rearend on 20's that weighed right at 100lbs per corner. :) Add a cam and drag radials and I was at 13.3@101. I've still got video from 3 years ago when my truck went 13.8.

  3. M&H make two different tire sizes that are both 28" tall, and they're pretty good tires. I've ran Nitto, M&H, and MT drag radials and by far the MT's worked best for me. I'm currently running a set of 295/45-17 MT's and I'd highly recommend them, I think they're roughly 27.5" tall. If I was putting them in order it would be #1 Mickey Thompson #2 M&H, and then Nitto a very distant #3. I can't give any first hand knowledge from running them on a SSS but this is what I've experienced in my truck for what it's worth.

I can pull consistent 1.75 60' times on the MT's at 26#'s of pressure.

  4. Buy a dodge :jester:

Seriously, I'd get a set of longtube headers, and a 3kish stall torque converter. Those two mods will make a huge difference in your times given you can keep traction. You could also try pulling your front sway bar which should help with weight transfer and if nothing else cuts your weight down. You could also start pulling extra weight off of the truck, but I'm not a huge fan of doing that. That's what I would recommend before digging in the motor. A 9.09 is VERY respectable for the mods you have.

  5. i hate to say it, but thats a good looking dawge. i wonder what he's got done to that motor? it really blasts out of the hole and it sounds beastly.

It's a 370 CI stroker with I think a 3k rpm stall, 4.10 gears, etc.etc. And I think at that time he was running way too small of a cam. He had the same cam I have in my truck which is a 216/218 with .541/.544lift on a 113LSA.

  6. the SS all the way. The Hemi gearing is all wrong for racing

The gearing's not much worse than a SSS. I think dodge should've made 4th the 1:1 gear, that would help alot. But both vehicles are 1:1 in 3rd, with the SSS having slightly better rear gearing 4.10 vs. 3.92. What size tires come on the SSS's, 275/55? The dodges come with 275/60-20's which are 33" tall. 275/55's are 32" tall. The gearing won't be enough of a difference to make or break the race between the two. No doubt the chevy's tranny are far more efficient..

  7. But from what I'm reading they were off a full second on every pass. That's strange..

Isolated incidents happen all of the time, and I see the MPH off on tracks alot, but for the ET to be off a full second is a new one to me.

  8. Something else I just noticed from watching the video and looking at your slip. From the best I can tell it doesn't look like the R.T's match what the slip says. From what I can see it looks like both cars leave at the same time. I don't know how it could happen but, if you take the extra second from the RT and add it to the ET all of the numbers would make since. That would change the 60' to a 1.8 1/8 to a 8.5@80 and the 1/4 to 13.5@99. Those numbers make sense, but I have no clue if that would even be possible for the timers to screw up like that?

  9. Could you post the 13.1 slip too?

Here's something I ran across. This is the times a TBSS put down yesterday.

    1.618 60'

    7.483 @ 90.87

    11.828 @ 112.71

Notice the 1/8ET is roughly the same as your best but look at the MPH, and a 1.61 60' is pretty dang hard to beat. On another note my truck ran a [email protected] in the 1/8 with a 1.75 60'. I'm not calling BS, but something is just really weird with your ET and or MPH's...:confused:

  10. ran a best of 12.5 thanks to justin for the new tune and brobradh77 for the m h dr' hooking is the shit and also to silveradoss.com thanks guy heres the vid and slip enjoy :cheers:691991f4-ad26-4843-9767-9a7500f6fcd2.jpgbad ass sspost-8882-1207422333_thumb.jpg

You got alot more in it judging by your mph. How much KR are you getting in 2nd through 3rd gear? I wonder what your 60' was though, cause a 7.50@80mph is pretty strange

Congrats on the 12sec run

  11. All of motortrnds stats are corrected for altitude and weather conditions. That's why alot of times there stats seem to be faster than what you normally see at the track. IF a stock SSS ran a 15.2 with a 2000'DA that would correct out to a14.8 with a 0' DA.

  12. I was in high scholl when I first read about the SSS concept, and I started saving every penny I could to come up with a down payment. It was supposed to be a RCSB 2wd with the 6.0 and a T-56. No power windows, door locks, or anything. It still had the same look as the production SSS but a totally different truck. You can imagine my disapointment when they came out with an ext.cab AWD truck. If they would've stuck with the original concept, there's no doubt that's what I'd be driving right now.

  13. is that similar to EFI Live and HPT but for the Dodges? BTW your Hemi is pretty fast bro

    Thanks

Yeah, the SCT is basically the same thing that HPTuners is for GM's. As of right now they have full ECM control, but they'er still working on TCM control. So I'm not expecting much improvement right now. But once we can control converter lockup and torque management, and line pressure I think it should be night and day difference. I'm trying not to get too excited so I wont be disapointed if its not quite as good as I was hoping.
