  1. Corsa! Their is one in the for sale section right now, for a good deal.

Ya i was looking at that tip and really like it but am debating about it because i want it to exit before the passenger tire and can't decide if it will look goofy since the tips have about a 2 inch gap between them..

    What do yall think?

  2. I found the exact exhaust tip I want for my truck but the inlet is too small. I want to run 3 inch piping but the inlet for the tips are 2.5 inches. I know I could run a reducer but wouldn't that effect the exhaust flow? Does anybody know of a tip that looks like this but is a 3 inch inlet?

  3. I had one piston pop out on me and it was a real PITA to reinstall. I called a member here and he had some guys that do how to do it. basically I had to put some vasoline on the piston and take my time and push it back into the caliper. It took some time but it got done. I'd just paint the caliper as it's a real PITA to do what you have planned to all 4. I've painted the rear drivers side caliper and plan to paint the other when I get some free time. I've posted pics on the site.

Ya im debating now either powdercoating or painting. I have rear drum brakes so I would only have to do 2 calipers.

  4. You do NOT want to remove a spray in liner. If you didn't know, in order to get the liner to adhere to the bed they have to remove (scratch up, whatever) the paint to expose the bare medal. If you attempt to take the liner off you will need to do even more to have it look good again. The whole purpose of a spray in liner is to be permanent. This may not have been what you wanted to hear, but that's how it is. Maybe you can find a cover that will either look good with it, or at least cover it.

Damn that definitely isnt what I wanted to hear but at least I know now lol. I might just have to live with the 2 inches of bed liner sticking out because I really like that tonneau cover lol. Thanks 2006SilverSS

  5. In my honest opinion I would just go with an ebay one or street scene one. The oem bumper is the exact same except for the way it is bolted on (the ebay one use sheet metal screws and the oem one uses different brackets). You can pick up an ebay one for like 200 or 300 bucks and get it painted whereas a factory one with all the brackets and everything comes out to be like a grand. That kind of seems like a waste of money to me. Thats just my opinion though

  6. i have a single 3in stainless mandrel bent w/ magnaflow 4in x 9in oval muffler, center inlet, offset exit on my 5.3 that exits before the pasenger tire with a 4 in tip that sounds meen as hell, trust me, a single 3in pipe is all your truck needs, dual 3 in pipes are for built motors around 500 plus, and a single pipe promotes a broader torque curve. If your stuck on duals, get a 3in inlet to 2x2.5in outlets. also the smaller the muffler, the louder it will be. Muffler shape determines what kind of sound produced. A round muffler will sound more tuner car-ish, where ovals sound more v8-ish (take this with a grain of salt, we all have v8s, i hope lol). Also longer mufflers tend to sound deeper and quieter, where shorter mufflers tend to sound more muscle car. And last, i've heard, but dont qoute me on it, that a mandrel bend 2.5in pipe flows the same as a 3in crush bend, and i would believe it.

note about duals: get an x pipe, or x pipe muffler! x pipes located closer to the headers promote top end power, moved back they promote bottom end power, the only problem with this is unequal length primaries off of the headers. This is why i'm going to fab a set of equal length 2.5in stainless steel primaries with a burns stainless y pipe going into my current setup. oh ya, and a set of dynatech headers when i get the $$$

and i just have to say, u have a clean truck, how hard was it to paint your mirrors and bumper

I think im still going to go with duals but with 2.5 inch piping. Thanks for the complement about my truck. I had the bumpers painted for 300 and the mirrors for 75. I took all of the bumpers and mirros off to save labor cost lol

  7. I have a 4.8l silverado. Im not a posing, just an admirer. I was thinking about getting pacesetter long tube headers, take the cats off, put an x-pipe, and run 2 flowmaster one chambers dumped. I was thinking also of making all the piping 3". Do yall think there is enough back pressure so that I dont lose torque?
