  1. So after 2 years of nothing, here it is. We mated the body to the all Stainless steel chassis. C6 Vette suspension and A arms. Winters Quick change rearend. Take a close look at the roll cage and how tight it fits to the body.......

Looks like a very sweet 56 in the making. Off to a nice start! My 1st car was a 56 2 dr hd top. All original. Inherited it from my great uncle that bought it new. He and dad worked together. Had the 265 power pak . I used to drive it up and down the dirt roads i grew up on. I know the guy thats has it now.

He has a 55 and a 57 to go with it. The 56 is still awaiting the street rod resto.

Good luck with it. I love the 56's because you don't see as many as the other shoe boxes.

  2. IMHO GM has this all wrong... especially to just use old names on new cars...

The SS should get the supercharged engine (~550 hp) The brauns of the group. If a ZL1 is to be made, that car should have an all aluminum, high reving, 425+ci engine like the ZL1 of the past (~600hp), (The super camaro). And the Z/28 should get a small direct injected V8 that can rev to the moon and back (500hp) the nimble and handling track car. Just like in the 60's.

And for the purenst, a 1LE would be the shiit. A striped down, no appolagies, ZR1 brakes, any motor you think you can handle, all track suspension monster...

    IMHO...

I tend to agree with this. But if this will todays top dawg for the Camaro i can see where they are coming from. And a 1LE would be cool again but just dosen't have the balls of a ZL1 in 1969. I 1LE was basically a cop car with out todays performance.

  3. Been in the offset printing industry for 30 years. I was production supervisor over 2 shifts before we went in bankruptcy

I was unemployed for two years and now i am working for a brand new start up company,Greetingexpress.com.

We make high quality photo books, greeting cards, posters, vinyl banners ,calendars, and almost anything that can be printed.

BTW,look us up if we can offer anything.

  4. After reading the Muddin' SSS thread,i gotta wonder,as our trucks get older and change owners and depreciate even more, what's gonna happen to this site and our trucks in general?

I envy the guys who don't used them as a daily driver. Most of us agree that the future value may not be so great.

I wanna hold on to mine and keep it in as good of shape as i can,but she's my daily, and i keep her clean and well taken care of.

So,what do you think the future holds for these nice trucks, they are just trucks after all......... :chevrolet:

  5. If i was doing this i would use all 4 factory colors. Maybe a 2 tone for upper and lower separated by the 2 other colors with pin stripes.

Think about Black and Blue with red and silver pins stripes or Red and Silver with Black and Blue pin stripes..

I would love to do this with mine but i would really like to see my ideas on a real truck

  6. I have 83,000 on mine. Only a cat replacement under warranty.

I love this truck and all my other Chevys. I have every available factory option except block heater and a few dealer options.

I guess I'll keep her for a while as i have done with all my other Chevys.

  7. I remember seeing a vid here years ago of a member taking his SSS through a lot of mud. Even the tail gate was muddy. I just can't do that.

Can't bear the thought of all that mud in the brakes, under the truck and in the suspension [parts

But it's your truck,do as you please and post pics if you have them.

Cell phone pix. I wasn't about to get out and get closer,i didn't want the owner to think is was admiring his ride.

I think he robbed an Auto Zone, had all kinds on stick on letters and those 'Buick" holes on the hood.
