That pretty much nailed it on the head... and im about to drive from tennessee to cali tomorrow so I bought the pump that I could swap out the easiest if i dont make it to Cali and get stuck in the dessert! I guess on the bright side of things since i bought the whole assembly i can figure out how to do the walbro pump without having my truck outta order and stick it in if i ever do serious mods, but idk i guess i just blew money! but does anyone know where the fuel regulator is on the truck??? maybe even a part number?

i think im gonna be sick... but yes i would have killed someone!!! im a very nice guy to get along with until you touch the SS!!!

They kept it all day the other day just to tell me i need a new fuel pump so Id assume they did going of the amount of detail they gave me... so I reckon my best bet is to just change the fuel pump and if its still acting up then ill do the regulator although that sounds bass akwards I already bought a pump so mine as well put her on and see what happens! Dang I just jumped the gun and bought a fuel pump and the stealership.... $378 somin after taxes and crap!!!! I may still by the fuel pressure regulator and swap it at first then but I also wanted to tell you that I went to get the AC Delco pump using a number you Fireman31 gave in another thread for a 2003 SS fuel pump and the parts guy gave me the a pump that was one number off because he ran my vin number and mine uses a different pump that was almost $100 more!!! DANG i cant catch a break.... his reasoning was some emissions BS and i didnt feel like getting the cheaper one and risking somin else stupid not workin but just FYI apparently there are more than one different types of fuel pumps in the SSS with the the in tank fuel pump system!!! Do you happen to have a part number for that regulator? and a location on the truck?

Well guys i swapped out the fuel filter and the pump aint gone out yet.... but it is still doin the same thing when i start it up so I know the pump is weak! My next question then is if I swap out the fuel pump with the AC Delco replacement will it be as simple as droppin the tank and pulling the old assembly out and putting the new one in? Or will it be more complex like the Walbro How Too right up is? I ask only because I need to do it quick and easy and I would like a walbro but I dont think I really need a stronger pump because my mods are light and It looks a little complex with the grinding and all.... long story short Im looking for plug and play so is that the case with the AC Delco or is it a pain in the a$$ too?

I took my truck in to the chevy dealership because I got the letter about the AC blower levels not working and they will fix it and asked the folks to see what they think about the fuel system. The reason I asked them to do this is because i knew something wasnt just quite right because I would have to turn the key twice to get fuel to the engine. So the lady at the dealership tells me i will need a new fuel pump and I do agree but she also said if i change the fuel filter it will back the pump work harder with a clean filter and the pump would go out faster?? does that make any sense to yal? I know the fuel filter is dirty and needs a new one but she says if I dont give them 800 dollars for their pump right now when i change the filter it will make the fuel pump die faster because of a clean filter? could the problem not just be the dirty fuel filter? Ill do the work myself to save cash anyway but the lifetime warranty only comes with the new pump if you let them do it!!! Dang thats a lot of money!!! So any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated! main question... does putting a clean fuel filter really make your pump go out faster if its older??

thats one SS i wouldnt feel bad about if it got stolen... they would probably fix the problems... i could MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE see an AWD being lifted but that would still be a waste although the front just looks so good i could see someone liking that but 2wd is so retarded lifted... and man he picked some ugly stepsides and wheel tire combos... disgrace... lets steal it and make it a website truck after we get that lift off!!! all in favor????

do you have the blower resistor located under the dash passenger side? mine has gona bad and this may sound a little silly but do you have to towhaul mode button that goes on the end of the shifter? my SS was bought used and it didnt have it on there when i got it... small but annoying when ppl notice

haha nice kill... my co-worker has one and has been talking trash for months then finally we left work the other day at the same time and i raped him off the line, like you said go awd, then just walked away so you shouldnt have any problems killing them, especially from a dead stop and launch at the same time!!!

just two questions.... why are you taking it out? and anyone around florida that cam help me put it in if i buy it? let me ask around man but just so you know im really interested, i need some help putting it all together though so i still gotta do some browsing around to see who i can find and if i can do it now!!! ill get back to you!!!

How bad was it dropping the tank to do this? Do i need a friend around for this? And I don't have many mods just headers intake tune really so yal know a good replacement pump for me? Thanks good write up!

I believe it is somin to do with fuel or spark but not experienced enough to know... when i try to start my SS everything sounds great but it never fires until i turn the key off and twist again... ive got to where i turn the key on but not engage the starter and wait then turn it off and turn it on with engaging the starter again for a few seconds then fire it right up... what do yal think? fuel pump? fuel filter? the truck runs great after it starts just wont start right away... its so embarasing when people are checking it out or girls get in and they wonder why i am doing this little procedure! PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks ahead of time cause i know you guys always come through!!!
