About 4 years ago I was pulled over for doing 105 in a 55 by a state trooper, I posted bond on the spot. I hired a lawyer the next day, I went to court and my lawyer worked out a deal to drop the charged from reckless speeding to 85 in 55 so that it was not reckless driving. Then the judge in court asked the officer if this was ok with her, she replied "yes, he was a gentlemen and very respectful." Then the judge asked me "did to come to court alone?" I told him "no my mother is here," then judge ask the bailiff to go get her from outside the court room. Then he ask her to stand next to me, and he told me, "You need to slow down, you could have killed yourself and thankful no one else. Now hug your mother." I looked at him confused and put my arm around her and gave her a quick hug. He then yelled at me "IS YOUR OTHER ARM BROKEN?" Then I hugged with both arms like I meant it. After alot of humiliation in court and going to traffic school for 8 hours which cost $250 the charges were dropped. Hire a lawyer Dress appropriately for court and be respectful and maybe the judge will throw you some slack.

The first week I had my SS I raced my friend in his 2001 Sierra C3; he had an ext cab with a standard bed with the 6.0 liter. We started from a 35 mhp roll and we stayed next to each other till about 80 mph were I started to pull away from him. His truck sat up higher and only had 17s, where mine was a little bit lower and I had the stock 20s. We never had a chance to race from a stop but we spent a good amount of time trying to figure out who was faster on the interstate.

I am in chicago area isn't that going to be a problem for shipping?

I park on the streets of chicago all the time, and every now amd then when I return to my truck i find the most random things have been thrown into my bed. Its worse when people miss the bed and their cofee spills don the side. I am about to order a bed lid from gaylords and I am not sure if I should select 5'8" or short bed. I did a search on the site and could only figure out that it is a 6 bed rug. well 6 feet is not an option. I am not sure wether or not to get the trim option. What is it? I want the cover to be as flat as possible. Are their any other options that are a must have?

Sorry to hear about your truck, it was one of my favorites on the site. I kinda know how you feel. I totaled a 2001 camaro SS with 1600 miles on it.

What is included with the zippy shift kit? What is it all about and why do I need one? I am not happy with the hypertech programmer and I am also considering swaping out that joke of a transcooler. Although the trans temp is fine unless the temperature outside is at 90 plus.

I have the exact same noise when coast ing through traffic and its sounds like the torque converter is engaging at to high of an RPM

Fix a fuel line leak and after i was finished I was getting no fuel to the carb so put more gas in the tank and checked all the fittings for a clog. 2 hours later it Turned out that I had forgot to take some vice grips off a rubber line at the bottom of the fuel tank.

Yup, He is probably from Iowa. Its painful to look at. I went college in Des Moines and I have seen many nice vehicles ruined in similar ways. While I was out there a kid pulled up next to me in a 60s mustang (probably not his) and I complimented the car, his reply was "I am thinking about getting a jet chip for it." Then I told him "good luck finding where to plug it in."

I am not fimilar with detroit area and have only been to woodward once 5 years ago. So where are the Burn out competions if any or the drag strip? which events would you recomemend to go to? Where will the banks trucks be? Will zippy have anything there?

I have a sealed sub enclosure that can hold 2 12 inch solobarics. Each side has .92 cubic feet of airspace. I was thinking about combining the two chambers so that the enclosure will be able to hold one 12 inch Solo baric 7 with 1.84 cubic feet of air space. I plan on running the single sub with a KX1200.1. The reason I am thinking about changing is because a friend of mine with a sierra has one 12inch sub with 600 watt amp. It is easily louder than my 2 12inch SL5 with a kx400.2. He is also using a subthump ultra deep box for a single 12inch sub (which is a resonant audio sx12.) So now I have sold the old system and everything is gone but I still have the subthump enclosure. What should I do? Run one 12inch SL7 or 2. Will 1.84 be too much? Kicker suggest an enclosure between .88 and 2 cubic feet for a 12 inch SL7 Sub enclosure: http://www.subthump.com/ctbultra.htm I think the problem was the box was too small for the 2 SL5s and I just need to upgrade to the SL7s. What do you guys think?

What are the stock shift points? I can only increase or decrease shift points in increments of 100 rpms. The display will just say "i.e. +100 or -100."

After going throught all the options on a hand held tuner I ended up only changing shift firmness. Once the tuner was done rewriting the PCM the display on the truck flashed reduced power. Does anyone have any suggested Rev limit point, can and should i take off the govener? I am hesitant to change shift points since they should already be at the optimal RPMs. The only other mods I have done are a CAI and Corsa/touring. Please help.
