  1. I'm tryin Alex !! Don't get rid of her yet, although it doesn't look good for me. You could always take mine on trade and give mine to your nephew. In the meantime, keep me posted on whats going on.
  2. Hey Bob, i'm gonna do this type of install when it gets a little warmer. I have a box and single channel amp with some 8's. I would really appreciate someone doing a how to in the simplest fashion. I don't care who does it, but if it's not too much trouble it would be nice so i don't have to blaze my own trail. If no one is up for the how-to, i'll just hit one of you guys up when i do the work. Thanks for the posts. Mike
  3. We don't even have 3G here in Manhattan KS. Been promised 3G for over a year now with no delivery. I had better reception when i was in Haiti for a week. If verizon picks up the contract, i'll be 100% SOLD.
  4. IMO, the phone kicks ass. I love it. If a new one comes out, oh well. You'll chase that rainbow all day long. If you like the phone, get it. You should probably check out the Droid and any other newer ones that compete with the iphone though. I live in a little bit of a rural area and i can't tell you how much AT&T blows goats. Worst cell service i've ever had. But, in a big city setting it might be the best thing since sliced bread. Good luck.
  5. Part of this sick obsession is never being happy, always needing something different or better and never having enough money to make it happen the right way. I'll get there eventually. Just trying to make it all happen the way i want. Get the SS i REALLY want and get it done right. You know the deal. I need to get this done before the wife starts asking for her own personal mods....ie tatas.
  6. No ball busting here Brian. I'm looking at options. I'm looking at another members SS and selling mine is the only option going forward with his. If that falls through, the blower/motor/trans transplant is still gonna go forward this spring......along with the GTG this spring. I'll be there either way. That clear things up for you confucius ???
  7. **** SOLD **** All options except sunroof. Included: -6K lowbeam HIDs -Volant CAI -GM NAV Unit -Pace Edwards Hardtop rollup bed cover -BedRug -22" Replicas/Tires with good tread -Shopman1 bowtie -Drilled/slotted rotors -Escalade cluster -New battery -Window Tint 87,000 miles. Good condition. Runs strong. Recent front diff rebuild courtesy of GM less than 500 miles. Tranny/rear diff service at same time. Kind of looking for something else. Never seem to have the time to do what i want to do with these SS's. $18,000. That's about $1000 over KBB private party (good) value.
  8. Try kayak.com . They search about everything and give you all the options for what you may want. If you're looking for a site that gives you a cheaper rate just because, post it up cuz i don't know that one exists. If you don't have a voucher, group/coupon discount, i think the rates are all about the same no matter what site you use. Not sure if true, but a friend told me they booked on travelocity and when the price of tickets went DOWN a couple of days later, they refunded. Good luck. Flying is only gonna get more expensive.
  9. Will this fit a Silverado SS with a bose system ????? Does it make a difference if it is lux or nonlux ? Is this Nav unit Lux or non lux?
  10. Depends Brian....i've got a few irons in the fire as it pertains to SS's. If i end up doing this swap, i want to have it done in the spring. I hope around March. So if we have a GTG after that i'll be good. Either way i'll have an SS there....either my standard 05 or my 'hybrid' 03/05 I will keep a couple of you local guys informed...Trying to hire Steve/Mr P to come help me do the swap in my garage over a long weekend in early spring. If you guys have any interest in coming by and keeping the cooler stocked it might be kind of fun.
  11. Thanks for the input. Like i said, i'm sure there are other costs that'll bump this up but this will be a good start.
  12. Holy Crap Shaun, i had this posted for about 30 seconds. Do you get paged everytime there is a new post ?? Now don't take that as lack of gratitude. Thanks for the reply.
  13. I have a built engine w/radix and built trans sitting in my garage in the burned 03 SS from early this year. I now have an 05 SSS w/ 86000 miles that runs great, but it's killing me to see that setup sitting in my garage. It ran so well and has so much damn power and i really miss that. I have a local shop that i trust to do work like this. They aren't a speed shop, but i think they'd do a decent job. Plus i could always take it back if i had problems. I would need them to take the setup out of the 03 and put into the 05. Probably try to sell the 05 engine/trans after that. I'm sure i'd need an alternator and maybe a few other smaller items, otherwise i would think it would be a fairly simple swap. I'm sure i'm missing some details, but this is what i can think of for now. If any of you have an idea what this will take or an average price range to get it done i'd like to hear it. I'm probably looking at spring to get this done. Thanks for any input. Mike
  14. I'm sure plenty will chime in with facts, but for me, i had a 2/2.5 ish drop. Had 22" eagle 026. Used belltech spindles, and DJM rear shackle/hanger combo. I didn't get any rub except on the front driverside tire. I had 305's. When i switched to 285's it got a lot better...and the only time it rubbed was backing up and turning out of my driveway. I think the bigger question is what kind of an offset your particular wheel has. I'll be looking at this one closely too. I need to put the drop down this spring.
  15. Oh yeah, this is a truck site.......and i plan on lowering my truck a little more.
  16. Couple of years back i bought all new Kenmore appliances for the kitchen in a different house. Bought from Sears, all with extended warranties. Sales lady said to cancel them all just before the year ran out so i could get a full refund on the warranty costs because most will have problems in the first year. Part of the warranty included a check of all appliances at that one year mark. Had them checked, cancelled for a full refund, worked out pretty well. The only one she said to keep was the Fridge warranty as they often require work so i kept that one. As for washer/dryers, i'm scared as hell to get those high capacity front loaders. My wife is begging for them. Everyone i've ever talked to that bought them says they are all Sh*t !! I'm on year 9 with my standard kenmore washer/dryer. Easy to work on and work very well. Two girls and a wife...equals more damn laundry running through those things than you can imagine and still going.
  17. If i can't wax mine due to snow, at least i can see what others look like with wax on them. Times like this, i hate the midwest. Looks good.
  18. That's cool of you. My wife already hates you. I've fixed our dryer 4 times, microwave once, washing machine once, oven once all in the last year. She wants new appliances bad. Would it be safe to say she is sabotaging everything ??
  19. Maybe, i guess, but the ballgag is definitely a Roger thing. Hi Roger !!
  20. Sounds like you 3 need to get a room.... :wtf:  :puke:
  21. Very True !! I have an 05 SSS black for sale. Alot of miles, bad shape and waiting for a guy with a bottomless wallet and an understanding wife/girlfriend/both. 86,000 miles. Asking $28,000. Bone stock. Oh yeah, Congrats on TOTM and having that understanding spouse thing.
  22. So you're saying there's a chance?......
