  1. I've been through 3 of these now and still want to get another one. Sorry, i want a black one. But, what I have found is that somewhere between blue book private party trade value and Retail is a good place to start...doesn't matter if you use edmunds, KBB or NADA, you can find a number somewhere in there. Thats where to start. In the end, all you can do is ask. It's up to the buyer to decide what they want to pay. If you are in a hurry, you'll settle in closer to that private party value. If not and you think it's worth it, you may be around retail. In the end, i don't know many people that will pay a lot more because of the rarity of an 03 SSS. Just my small chunk of change opinion. BTW, i sent a pm on the bed, AKA box
  2. If you can let the guys over at PT.net and the other sites you are familiar with, i would really appreciate it. I want this stuff gone. It's depressing seeing it all sitting here. Thanks man. I appreciate it.
  3. Headers, high flow cats, magnaflow dual out the back and DMH electric cutouts all sold as a complete unit. THanks. Mike
  4. All Burned, except headlights and the drivers side headlight is damaged. No separation of those items, although if the alternator is salvageable, i'll part that.
  5. Thanks Shaun, but you still can't have the blower for free.
  6. What's the difference between a triscuit cracker and a lesbian ?? One's a snack cracker, the other is a crack snacker.
  7. Not sure how this will all end or the way it will go getting there, but it's time to sell parts. As many of you know, my SS burned up in an electrical fire about a month ago. There are many parts available. I'll post them on occasion as i figure it all out. If you have a need or question, just ask. I am looking to sell the motor/trans/blower as ONE UNIT. It is one hell of a setup that really belongs together, and i honestly don't want to mess with selling it in different pieces...although i will ultimately do that if i can't sell it together. I don't have a lot of time to spend on this project, so i want to sell things in larger units as opposed to piecing them out. I will sell to people with reasonable offers only. If i don't get what parts are worth, i will keep them for a future SS not to far off. I WON'T give things away as i need to recoup losses after insurance settled the claim, but i will be reasonable. Whether i ship or not depends on convenience. Cost of shipping will be added to the cost of what you purchase. I would prefer to sell locally, or have you come get the parts, although i will try to work with you on shipping things. Parts are sold AS-IS. I will not sell something i know doesn't work. I've been on this site for a few years and would like to think i have a few guys that'll vouch for my character. If i don't get many offers on what people want, i'll start listing specific prices for what i need out of parts. I bought the truck from moog5050 in Jan of 2009. Put about 6-8k miles on in before the fire. Here is a link to what he had done to it. Awd 03 Silverados Ss If this link doesn't work, just search with those words. Mods were done exceptionally well and done right. This was truly an incredible SS. I didn't change much of anything so this will give you an idea what was done to the motor/trans/etc. All of the work done has approx 15k miles on it to include the radix. I can tell you it ran strong with more power than i ever needed, although i enjoyed having it there when i needed it. My job consumes most of my weekday hours and half my weekends, so i will answer PMs as soon as i can. I will sell to the best offers and the one that pays in full first. Again, if you are looking to get something for nothing, don't bother asking. ITEMS STILL FOR SALE 1. Motor/radix 112/trans as a unit 2. Dynatech headers/dual exhaust out back with magnaflow/DMH electric cutouts as a unit WILL NOT SEPARATE 3. Numerous other parts. 4. Doors, cab, etc etc etc 5. Trifold GM bed cover SOLD 1. Complete Nitrous Kit 2. Wheels/brakes 3. Rear bumper assembly 4. Front bumper complete assembly 5. Front bumper vents 6. Mirrors 7. Box/bed 8. Console When i get home later i will make sure pics are posted of current condition of the SS as well as the link to what was done in terms of mods. Burned SS pics Let me know if questions. Sorry to be so long winded. Mike
  8. I've seen some good options come up for you just in these posts alone....anything from higher mileage, few mods and lower price on up to low miles, many mods and higher price. Maybe you need to post up exactly what you are looking for. I've seen some good options on craigslist in some major cities. They are out there if you really want one. If all else fails, you can take a look at mine. Pretty cheap to licence
  9. Welcome back !! If you're up for it and you drink, i'll buy you a beer. You can stop by my place and see what happens when brake fluid burns in your engine bay. BTW, i have a pretty nice complete exhaust setup you might want to consider, as well as a supercharger, and a built tranny/engine, and brakes, and . Sorry, went off a little there. Really, PM me a phone number and when you have free time. We'll try to get some of us local guys together. Again, welcome back.
  10. I'll throw in a brake line off of a master cylinder for free with this purchase. Don't thank me Shaun, it's not necessary.
  11. I've seen that glass. It's in great shape. Bump for a moderately OK guy.
  12. I'll take great care of it....unless my wife burns it to the ground. Glad she doesn't come on here or i'd get an ass kickin for that comment. Looks great, nicely done.
  13. Looks Awesome :tear: :tear: :tear: :tear:
  14. The circus continues with insurance. They are now passing it on to the total loss claims section that will supposedly get this hammered out with me in the next 2 days. Meanwhile, the truck is in my garage. I would sleep in it but it stinks like smoke and wet carpet. I am in the process of looking at 3 different SS's. Just waiting on insurance to see how far i can go. As i think i said earlier, the engine, drivetrain, wheels, tails and bed cover are pretty much spoken for. As for the rest of it, when i officially get it back (provided they don't rape me on a salvage price), i will begin to part it out. Should be lots of things people can use. I won't screw anyone, but need to recoup what i can to make up for the loss of mods. I'll sell on convenience first, that is, local pickup first, then i'll ship if no local sale. Don't plan to do a lot to a newly purchased SS, but it will be very difficult not to go supercharged. You sure get used to that power in a hurry. Again, thanks for encouragement from everyone. It is just a truck. There WILL be another one...unless i can talk the wife into a Camaro SS. And that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. I'll keep updates on here and start a for sale thread if i get the truck with what is for sale.
  15. Here they are....Getting things worked out. Wiring from firewall to battery running past the two stainless steel lines coming out of the brake master cylinder somehow arced long enough with one of the brake lines and cut into it. The result is this. No idea how wires got exposed and arced at that point. I'll get a pic up tomorrow of the actual brake line. Should know tomorrow as well how it all pans out.
  16. Gettin police/fire reports this am. Already been warned from insurance company not to remove anything. Don't want to get shitty with them just yet. When i hear what their settlement is, i'll go from there. If they lowball me, i'll demand the option to strip the thing, slap back on junk stock parts and move on. If they want to much for salvage, i'll fight that too. I know this is far from over. I agree with the lawyer thing. Never hurts to have that in your back pocket. The only thing i worry about is the fact that it was so heavily modded. They could come back on me pretty hard as blaming aftermarket parts. At the same time, i'd think they would have to prove it was an aftermarket part problem before denying a claim or inadequate claim payment. Who the hell knows. Had a good talk with Steve P about a few things. Interesting to hear all of your comments....helps ALOT.
  17. Dang is right. Thanks again for all the replies. Couldn't get to the truck yesterday, but will for sure today. Kind of feels like i'm going to a funeral and looking at the body for the first time. Sick i know, but true...even if it is just a truck. Adjuster looked at it yesterday. Asked all the basic info about the truck in terms of options. Didn't ask much about aftermarket accessories. Not sure if i should make a fuss about all the extras or not. Don't know how it works. Will they try to adjust my reimbursement for the SS upward slightly because of extras, or will they just try to stick it to me that much more when i try to buy it back as salvage. The thing is obviously never gonna drive again. I just want parts. Again, any input is appreciated. Until then...picks tonight.
  18. Thanks for all the encouragement. And the advice. So far things are moving ahead with insurance, but won't rest til i get the check and agree with the amount. As for salvage of parts, if it works out and i can buy it back, i will be posting up with a list of goodies. Already have a short line of people with requests. And Brian, good to hear from you. The truck was a champ the day i picked it up from you right til the end. Can't wait to hear more on the Corvette. I'll keep you guys updated. Get the fire report today. Don't imagine it'll say much about a cause. Pics hopefully later tonight.
  19. Exactly !! I haven't been upset once since it happened. Keep running over and over in my mind what would've happened if she couldn't get one of them out. Sad about the truck....yes. Angry...NO. That's exactly what i was thinking as i was looking at the SS and looking back at my family. It's only a truck. But DAMN, it was a REAL NICE TRUCK. I don't think you really every know what you're gonna get from insurance until you get the check, but i think they'll be fair. I bought the truck for a fair price with the mods and i did it knowing that if it ever got totalled, i was out the mods. I'm ok with that. The difficult part is that it was done SO WELL ! To have that again probably won't happen, cuz i don't have the time or know-how and certainly won't put that much money into it. Tons of respect for those that can and do. Especially for those that put everything into this particular SS.
  20. The wife went to gas up the SSS for me last week and took the kids. Stopped at a light and noticed it seemed smokey. Then it got hot. She hit the gas to go through the light and it went in reverse first...messed with the shifter and got through the light. Stopped at an empty lot after intersection and got out. Flames under the engine bay! She got the kids out and within 1-2 minutes, flames everywhere. Someone had called 911 and fire dept got there FAST but it was to late. She called me worried i was gonna go POSTAL. I got there about 10 minutes after it happened. Thank GOD the family was OK. walked over to the truck and the thing is fuking gone. Dash and headliner took a hit. Looked like electrical around the battery or the battery itself. Not sure how bad the fire will hit the engine bay parts. Fire Marshall couldn't really tell origin. For those that have seen this truck, you know what i'm feeling. For those that don't, SEARCH MOOG5050 for "AWD 03 Silverado SS" or check it out here for more recent pics with different wheels and a 2/4 drop http://s711.photobucket.com/albums/ww112/sleepingcrna/ . I'll have pics posted up tomorrow night. I just had them load it up and take it to a garage. I could'nt stand to look at it, so i'll snap some tomorrow. My insurance is supposed to look at it tomorrow or Tuesday to let me know what i can buy it back for on salvage. If any of you have been down this road or have any input for me before dealing with my insurance, i'd appreciate any comments. I know everyone's SS is special and original, but this SS was truly an original to me. Mike
  21. Hate to suggest to much, but she's begging for a 3/4 drop.
