  1. *Update... I dropped it off tonight at the dealership...we shall see...I took a different service tech out since the last post. He drove and actually admitted to hearing "the growl".... so tonight I mentioned that my fellow brotherhood of SSS owners that have had simular noises have had everything from a rebuild to a complete replacement. He told me he could not find a service bulletin on that particular noise/problem with the AWD SSS . The most crazy thing at this Chevy dealership is the loaner they gave me...2007 Ford f150 .... Im gonna beat the balls off this thing :jester:

  2. yeah thats not even the issue your speaking of, thats the intermediate shaft which everyone will have to replace or relube eventually.

your problem , the front differential growl is not related at all and shoud be addressed. why did they hit you with a deductable ,are you on extended warranty? imo find another dealer.

yeah , its the extended warranty...i thought it was through GM but its not....it through GE 5 star?

  3. Is there a bulletin sent out regarding the noise that we hear with these AWD trucks?I took it in for the growling noise.. told the service department low speed turns the noise is present when making a turn such as into a parking spot,or a driveway.Got hit with a $100 deductable with the warranty. Here's the paperwork they gave me.HELP!

    thanks for the vent.......

  5. well i bought my truck used. found out that the guy before me was a old man and died. but this old man didnt take that much care of the apperance and rarely drove it. (has proballby 35000 miles on it) now dont get me wrong the truck is mint except for  the paint. its black so ofcourse you can see like the minor scratches from washing. but theres also a couple of noticable scratches on the bed. i dont know how to fix it. there do deep to buff out but not throught the primer.(there only about 1 or 3 inches long) now i have a new hood, roll pan and ss bumper coming in and that needs to be painted. so do you thinki should get the whole truck painted as well??? now the truck was prevesously clear coated by the old guy...gueese he got hit because they didnt remove the fender flares. so ther is a lip of paint were the fender flares meet the body. so thats another reason i was thinking about painting it....so do you guys know how much a decent black paint job will cost. or other ways to remove fine scatches..like polsihes or waxes??? any help would be great.(sorry about the long post) :driving: ~~kyle

New paint is expensive when its done right....like removing the door handles, bed, cladding, front and rear bumper covers(fascia), etc... mine was $7200. and it was at the shop for 35 days!but it looks awesome!Black is a easy color to match, and just detail out what you dont...good luck

  6. Anyone having any problems with the silverstars being too hot? The chrome looks like I guess the best way to describe it is when chrome headers turn blue near the manifold? These headlights and turn/driving lights are GM new (aug 06)
