  1. I bought a Corsa touring system from a GM Accessory distributor. He had a ton of Corsa parts because GM changed to another supplier. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure he said Borla.
  2. In NY State is been a law for a while. I answered my phone and told them I'd call back later and hung up. When I turned the corner there was a road block. I was on the phone for a total of maybe 30 seconds. When I got to the trooper she said they had a spotter down the road that saw me with the phone up to my ear so she wrote me a ticket. It'll probably cost me $100 for the ticket.
  3. Has anyone hooked up a blue tooth hands free device to the Nav HU. I just got a ticket for talking on my cell phone and was thinking of buying a Motorola IHF1000 to stay out of trouble.
  4. I'm working Christmas Eve , Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. I work in the boiler room at New Venture Gear and we make all the transfer cases for the SSS's. To everyone on this board, thanks for all you support with my SSS and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
  5. I just did a Katrina flood SSS and everything is fine now. Mine was salt water and the interior looked ok, but when I got it back at the shop and tore it down it was a lot worse than I expected. I ended up buying a wrecked SSS for parts. The transfer case had salt water in it that turned into acid and disolved the magnesium. There was mud under the dash and console, nothing on the seats worked, and there was salt water in the engine. I replaced the entire interior and drive train. It's an 04 and I'm still into it for around $15000 including all the upgrades so I'm real happy and love the truck. Bottom line is be careful and make sure you know what you're getting into.
  6. Is the truck still for sale? Whats the best you can do on the price? I'll have to get it to NY somehow.
  7. I get 14-15 mpg all the time. I haven't made a highway milage run but I'm happy. It's a 4wd truck that runs like a bear. I know guys with Dodge 4wd trucks that get 10-12 mpg and they would think they died and went to heaven if they ever saw 15mpg.
  8. I took the IPC to a place that rebuilds them. They said it was ok and they are all programed the same whether it is an 01 up to 06. I have an IPC from an 03 SSS and tried that but the guage still works backwards. Zippy is sending me a PCM programed for an 03 so I'll try that before I go any further. If that doesn't work I'll have the BCM flashed for an 03. When I first put the truck on the road the dealer flashed it for an 04. The guy that rebuilds the IPC's said that when you program them you can't reprogram to an earlier year. If that's true I may have to buy a new BCM if need be. Has anyone heard of this before ? It's hard to know for sure w/o a wiring diagram, ohm meter, and prolly about 3-4 hours of dedicated time. ~OR~ A Scan Tool, and about 10 minutes of time. Reflashing the IPC module is one of the easier approaches to this situation, I think. Especially knowing how many changes GM makes to their software in just one year ... it's astounding ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. This is a link to what you need to convert to Sirius Radio. I have a NAV unit and it works great. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KTbUhmFl39b/c...gm1&i=607SIRGM1
  10. Thanks for the tip. Zippy had to use the 03 VIN on the PCM. I called the people that rebuilt the ICM and they said to bring it down and the would reprogram it for an 03. I had the truck at a dealer back when I first put it on the road and he was supposed to have flashed the BCM. That may be part of the problem too. I'll have both the ICM and BCM reprogramed and see what happens. Come to think of it, my son told me the fuel guage worked ok before we took it to get the PCM and BCM reprogramed at the dealer back in mayand they programed everything for an 04 with the 04 VIN. We'll see what happens when everything is set up for the 03 VIN. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted.
  11. I'll have the IPC Module flashed. We have a United Radio near by that rebuilds them. I wonder if they can do it or do I need to take it to a dealer. I haven't had much luck with the dealers in this area. I have a Snap On Modus at the body shop and repair shop I own. I'll have my son take a look and see what happens. Either way, I'll have to take it someplace that has the software. Thanks
  12. GM may have changed the software in the PCM from '03 to '04. Did Zippy use a factory calibration for the PCM from '03 or '04? I would look at that first. It's possible the PCM software may look at the fuel level sender backwards between the 2 years? I would also look into reprogramming the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) module with an '03 calibration instead of '04. By the way, the dealer lied to you about programming the BCM. It can definitely be programmed. I would also try that. It may be good to also use '03 calibrations for as many computers on that truck as possible so that they all can communicate with each other correctly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The fuel tank and sending unit is also from the 03, everything including the wiring, computers, drive train, etc is from the 03. I believe Zippy put the 04 parameters in the PCM for the fuel guage when he programed it. He is an awesome guy and has been bending over backwards to figure this out. He is sending me a PCM with everythinf programed for an 03 and I'll try that first. The instrument cluster may be programed for an 04 so maybe that's the culprit. Would the BCM have anything to do with the botton two buttons on my steering wheel not working or do you think it may be just a wiring problem or maybe a bad ground? Thanks for the input. You guys have been a great help during this project. I hope I can repay the favor sometime.
  13. I have an 04 SSS from the Katrina Flood that I rebuilt with an 03 SSS. The drive train and all of the wiring harnesses and interior including the computers BCM, PCM, etc are from the 03. Everything works great and I love the truck but my fuel guage works backwards. Zippy programed a PCM for me and it still workes backwards. He's working on a fix but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I also have a problem with the 2 bottom switches on th steering wheel not working. The ones that change the personal settings and reset the fuel info. I asked the dealer to flash the BCM to see if that may help but he said it can't be done. I don't even know if that would help but I asked any way. I'll have to trace it out to see if the wiring and switches are good.
  14. I need a steering wheel, both door mirrors, and possibly the body control module.
  15. If no one has any door mirrors for sale i guess I'll have to buy new ones. I'll guess i'll have to go with gmpartsdirect if all else fails.
  16. I finished my 04 SSS from the Katrina flood and love it. It turns heads everywhere I go. Thanks to everyone on this site for the help. I'll be posting pictures soon.
  17. How much and what kind of shape is it in?
  18. Anyone have any door mirrors for sale?
  19. How much for the Roll Pan and will it fit an 04 SSS
  20. Oh Yea, I forgot to mention the 22" Rims and billet grill. I added them to my list on the original post.
  21. I'm looking for a NavLux system, Volant CAI, 6 disk cd changer if anyone has any of these let me know. Thanks
  22. I'm almost done with the 04 SSS I bought in April. A little paint and a few mods & I'll have an awesome ride. The truck was from the Katrina flood in Mississippi and the guys at my shop have changed the complete interior and drive train including wiring. I going with the following mods: Corsa Touring Exhaust ( I picked it up for $560 new) Gaylord Speedster Tonneau Cover Cowl Induction Hood with SS Stripes Navigation Lux System 6 Disk CD Changer Volant CAI PCM Tune 22" Chrome Factory Rims Billet Grille I'll be towing a car hauler from time to time so I may have to go with some tranny mods from Zippy. I just want to thank everyone for all the info on this site it's been a great help. If there's any mods I missed let me know. I'm more interested in reliability and efficiency than anything. Don't suggest superchargers and turbo's either. They'll have to wait til a later date.
  23. I've been to 2 dealers and a Delco repair facility and no one knows whats going on. I bought a Nav head 15229287 and a bose lux amp off ebay. I changed the amp wiring as per directions in these posts. According to the Delco repair facility the Nav head is for the UQ5 sound system and the nav head has to be reprogramed to be compatable with the bose lux but he cant do it because the head unit doesn't recognize my vin. He said I had to put it in a vehicle with the UQ% system and change the setting to the lux setting then it will work. The sound system in my 04 Silverado SS is a UQ7 with a bose amp 15054671. Does any of this make sense ? Is there a place I can send this unit to make it work with the lux, can I use the UQ7 amp in my truck, do I need to buy a different amp, or should I buy a diferent Nav head? Any help would keep me from jumping off a bridge. Thanks After spending quite some time searching and reading posts I found answers to all my questions. This site is a great source of information and I appreciate everyones input. Thanks
