  1. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/03/sema-20...or-wrangler-ye/ ZR2 It may not be an SS but it would be close.
  2. I recently received from GM a letter regarding the 2003 Silverado saying the instrument panel needles may stick flutter or become inoperative. GM is offering an extension to 7 years or 70,000 of the warranty covering this. I was driving the truck Friday nite, and I noticed all my gauges weren't working. Now this could be the fauult of my battery failing or the cold weather. I replaced the battery with a red top, but was wondering if anyone else has had the instrument cluster act this way? Included in the letter is a claim form in case work has been done to fix this issue before.
  3. I'll have to see how the cover fits under the cross member with my particular battery. I wish the owners manual had said to move the cross member support out of the way to remove the battery. Found that out on the net. I was looking at the instructions, and almost think the Group 65 Wing Adapter should be used to get the battery to sit in the tray properly so that it fits snug with the Group 78 Puck Adapter. When it warms up I'll fiddle with it and see.
  4. Okay, you said ask any questions, so here goes: I bought an Optima Red Top model 34-78 at Autoozone this morning. The zero weather here finally took a toll on the 4-5 year old AC-Delco stock battery. I had to change the battery in the cold. I used the GM clip provided by Optima, but it seemed not to lock down the battery. Does it lock down with this clip alone? Maybe I need to tighten it down some more, but because of the cold I just left it loose for now. I just want to know if the clip alone does the job and I needed to tighen it further, or am I missing something? BTW, online Autozone says the battery was one price and at the store it was 20 bucks more. Thanks for any help.

I am too old to have a myspace.
  6. I am not much of a beach person. Indoor activities suit me fine.
  7. By waiting long enough on zombo.com I got to the T shirt page.
  8. Can you get in trouble for posting child porn of yourself?
  9. I just remembered this. It's 6 pm here in St Chas. How long to get to Rockford from here, maybe an hour and a half? Got to look up where Rockford Hooters is. Maybe I'll see ya. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm guessing It's somewhere around an hr drive. I'm running late! I won't be there till 7:45. If your still thinking about coming... COME <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry I missed you. The girls there were super nice. They said come back. Enjoyed the drive on I90. I kind of screwed up. They all came out to have their picture taken, just as I was leaving. My truck at Hooters. I had a good time. Hopefully we can get organized in N. Illinois for some rides, etc.

  11. I'm might be going blind, I don't see a signature picture right now.
  12. The Omen is a remake of a series of movies from what, 20-30 years ago? Weird things happen around the born devil. Gee, only five days to go. I don't think it (666) has any effect on anyone.
  13. Thanks for the welcome. This is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. Like I said before driving is fun again. Already, I have a Century Evolution cargo cover and Bed Rug on order. Too bad the plastic tailgate protector/wing has to come off for the cargo cover. I sort of want to keep things as stock as possible.

    NEED NEW TIRES

I found the LSs (non LS 2s) still available on the web. The Michelin site does not have a 20 inch tire for the 2003 Silverado SS listed. I have 35000 miles on my SS and the tires hardly look used. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have the Eagle LSs. The Bridgestone Dueller H/Ps are 297.99 in my area.

  16. I do the same thing as with anything else and floor it. I must be the other people j/k <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess I'll wave if they wave.
  17. I'm glad I found this site to tell it. Thanks Aspentaylor if I remember right its: 6000 or so Black 2500 or so Red 1500 or so Blue in 2003... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the history. It's nice to know this stuff. That is what I call compulsive buying. I also think I have a touch of that. I have had my truck for over a year now, and every morning when I wake up, I still can't wait to drive it. Congrats <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I look forward to my commute now. It's county driving. It just seems to get better each day. I knew I was interested in the SS before, opportunity knocked and the cogs were in place to have this happen. What do you do when you see an SSS coming? Give them the low wave, or honk. Ususally they go by so fast I can't react.
  18. It loves gas, I know that. It's worth it because it is so responsive. Actually, the young man who owned it traded it for a Dodge diesel pickup on the Ford lot. Go figure. The Chevy dealer is right across the street, so I don't get it. I did a search and saw that the production run for the 2003 SSS was 1500. If thats true, is there any way to know which number (1 to 1500) we are? I look at this truck as a collectors item, but I also feel that it needs to used and not sitting in a garage.
  19. Brian, Thanks for posting the picture. Aw shucks, here I thought I was joining the dark side (more fun) side of the force. I knew I had left the dark ages as soon as I bought the SS and drove it home. ;)
  20. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, I figured out how to get an image into the garage. Day 2 and am finding myself finding any reason to go for a drive. I let my older brother drive it last nite, the smile on his face said it all. He wants one.
  21. Thanks all for the warm welcome. It seems I can't post pictures yet, and I have tried.
  22. that when I woke up this morning, I'd be driving home in a 2003 Silverado SS. Driving to my work, my Ford F150 check engine light came on. My Ford dealer was nearby and I had them check it out. To kill time, I walked around the lot, and I see the SS. What's that doing here? I go back to the waiting room, kill some more time. I see a salesman go by. I ask what's the deal on the SS. It took a while for the salesman to figure out the alarm. I get in, and go nice seats. I for go for a test ride. I know I want it. So I get it. It's a really really nice ride. It made me smile and that's all you need. All I need is a hard tonneau cover and a bed liner. I'm not ready for mods like you guys might do, yet. I still have a lot to learn about that. I think I'm going to have a few questions on some of the gizmos it already has, so bear with me.
