  1. yea there is, thats where i got the thought from. just wanted to see how it looked on a red sss. i really like how it looks on the black, but alot of things that look good on black vehicles dont carry over to other colors.
  2. i think its a "cool start," it was installed at a local audio/video/alarm shop where i've had other vehicles done w/ no problems at all.
  3. if no pics can someone photoshop it? i tried, but i suck at photo shop stuff
  4. any one have pics of a red sss w/ a shopman1 bowtie painted red w/ ss left in silver?? thought it might look good
  5. well the magic number isnt 40 F for my truck. the last couple of mornings that i've used the remote start the temp gauge on the mirror read "46" and "45," and my heated seats were on at the highest setting.
  6. you could make your 4.8 into a 6.0, but you'd have to bore and probably stroke the motor, which would require you to pull it and have it machined, then buy alot of new internals, (pistons, connecting rods...), then put it all back together. not practical unless you have another vehicle or motor to use, time, and money to spend.
  7. yea, just turn the knob to the left and the light located there will light up orange, which means that the lights are off. when you turn it all the way to the left the knob wont stay there, but it will kill your lights. pull up close to your garage so you can see the reflection when you mess w/ them so you can figure it out. i do this all the time to turn off the daytime running lights, that way you dont have to mess w/ your dash lights.
  8. mine turns on at the highest setting. it will be interesting to see if it does it i warmer weather
  9. thats crazy, i cant believe that it's so common. i figured i'd be the only one and that my remote start was wired wrong or something. thanks for the feedback everyone!
  10. i had my remote start installed about a month ago and have noticed that sometimes when i use the it to start my truck the heated seats are on when i get in the truck. it doesnt really bother me b/c its nice to have them warmed up when i get in cuz the winters are f-ing cold here in kansas. just wondering if anyone else has ran into this
  11. do you have any pics of them? would like to see how much better the wider tires look
  12. didnt mean to be unclear. i was referring to the ls1 tune available from pcmforless.com or getting a custom tune from pcmforless.
  13. anyone know what the differences are between these two tunes. i'm guessing that it depends on what mods you have. in my case i'm not going to do too much, just my current mods plus a shift kit and tbtc. any suggestions?
  14. that's what i will probably end up doing. i was going to do a zippy tune, zippy shift kit w/ tbtc, but zippy hasnt replied to any of my emails.
  15. in the pic i was only going a few miles. when i had it delivered the battery was dead, so i had to trailer it to my house. what is a canyon dancer though, for next time i need to haul it? thanks for the ideas on mods, i'll be def going w/ a power commander, and the 520 chain conversion, and steel braided brake lines. i want to upgrade to the full yoshimura exhaust system but i cant figure out if i can just buy the few parts that i need instead of the whole thing.
  16. My 2004 Yamaha YZF-R1. Have had it for just about a year now, but just figured out how to post pics. Thought i'd see what everyone thought. Only mods are Yoshimura slipon carbon fiber exhaust, seat cowl, flush mount led front turn signals, and integrated turnsignals in taillight. Next mod will be a power commander.
  17. I'm planning on buying an extra pcm to send in for my tune so i can keep the stock one in case of any problems. My question is: do i need a stock 6.0L pcm from another SSS or will the 5.3L pcm from a reg silverado work? i assume that i need the 6L one, but thought i'd make sure. also, any ideas on where to find one? wanted to see if there were any easy fixes instead of hunting through the local salvage yards. looked on ebay w/o much luck.
  18. Maybe i'm not understanding what you are saying, but can't you just turn the tuning knob on the radio? from 100.1, 100.3, 100.5, 100.7....etc
  19. looks much better dropped with the wheels. i really like those wheels. what are they?
  20. are those the led taillights? if so how do you like them? i've been considering them but havent got a chance to see them in person.
  21. my kit came with 2 round flimsy foam gaskets that mount where you said, so i think your's are missing i'd call volant and complain. and there directions do suck ass! but there actual product is realy nice once you get it installed you will be happy with it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yea i got in touch w/ volant today, and i'd have to say that they have great customer service. just told them i was short the two gaskets and w/ no questions asked they're sending me some. just sucks when you get all excited to put on a new mod and you cant cuz all the stuff isnt there
  22. ok, i feel stupid asking for help on this but i've searched the site and the web and have found nothing. i'm not helpless, my dad and i both worked on it and he's a total motorhead... the diagram shows the stock mass air flow sensor, then an ADAPTER GASKET, then the volant filter bo, than another ADAPTER GASKET, then the volant filter box adapter, then the air filter. my kit did not come w/ any type of extra round adapter gaskets. am i the only one who this has happened to? or should i just blow them off and screw in the mass air sensor directly to the box? i'm comfused, thought i'd ask here before i called volant tech support.
