i have posted a couple of new topics in regards to headers and exhaust, i know before anyone else says it i've just looked through 9 pages of old topics on the subject for the last 3 hours!. now i got almost no response to my post althought there were plenty of responses to other post.. i know it's a dead subject to all of you but it seems to me everyone just passed right by my post or would'nt respond trying to get there point accross?... so i looked and looked for hours and you would think the way everyone makes it seem like there would be some clear answer's to my questions?.... wrong what is clear is that everyones questions and concerns are a little different from each other and instantly flaming someone for asking i similiar question is not right, theres an old saying that goe's "there are no stupid questions only stupid answers" i don't think it's nice to ignore or flame someone for asking a question, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. also unless your positive the exact same question was asked before and answered, don't go and tell someone to do a search because there was no clear answer to my question anywhere as you all make it seem.
sorry for the rant but i'm a bit peeved that i joined this site hoping to find some help and nice poeple to converse with, what i have found is quite the contrary. being a newbie you would think everyone would be a little more welcoming and forthcoming with information to help me down the right track... thats what this site is for right?. doe's everyone in here not realize that these questions will be asked for years over and over again, because nobody is going to invent a new way to modify are trucks.. so at some point the only response's will be "do a search" because everything has been talked about already.. but again everyones questions and concerns are if nothing else even slightly different, then they deserve a slighly different and new reply!
thanks for the help and next time i'll just "do a search"

losing the sleep is horrible.. but like you said well worth it. it's an overwhelming feeling of resposibility, and knowing your life will never be the same.
but if your up to the challenge theres nothing more rewarding, congrats!.

thanks for the reply to my last post stork,
but a lot of my questions are'nt answered and you were the only person to reply. i need to know if i will lose bottom end torque with the duels and shorty headers?
i'm going to do the duels with flowmaster super 40's and 3" pipe (thats the stock single diameter) would it be better to go with a slightly smaller pipe to keep some back pressure?...
next if i put a set of shorty headers on will it not make a difference, everyone on here so far seems to talk about them as if there a waste?, RTstork said there better with a supercharger.. but i doubt i'll have the cash for that kind of upgrade for a long time. so for now how much of a difference in power would it realy make on a strictly bolt on type engine? ( i plan on eventualy putting every bolt on mod i can) i don't want anything else, i like my warranty
so please any help with my questions would be greatly appreciated.
come on everyone don't make me post this question again and resort to begging!

hi guys,
i'm still a newbie here so bare with me, i ordered a flowmaster super 40 for my truck but when i went to have it installed, i found out the exhaust system on my v-max is different then the 2005 5.3 i had before. when i got under my new truck i noticed that there are 2 pipes running all the way into the muffler and then 2 out Y'ed into 1 after a few inch's... so i was thinking i need to get one more super 40 and make a true duel system would that be ok?, would i gain hp and lose torque or would it help all the way around?, i read somewhere in here that 1 of the pipes is a resonator?... doe's that cause a problem? also whats wrong with the shorty headers?, i like the fact that they bolt in place of the stock manifolds.. do the long tubes make that big a difference?.. thanks in advance for your help guys...

zippy, thunder... thanks a lot.
p.s. i just ordered a flowmaster super 40 it should arrive in a few day's... i'm not sure if i want it to exit out the side like i had on my last silverado or in the stock location, doe's it make any performance difference? let me know what you guys think?...

whats up fellow LQ9 members!.
just wanted to say hi, i'm new to the group and found the site looking for a forum for the SS/v-max truck. i've read a lot of information here thats been very helpful alread, i know i will get a lot of useful help here in the future as well as help others out when i can.
a little about me, i'm married with two young children, 25 years old, have been a car guy my whole life! (as well as a huge superhero fan) i'm a huge fan of superman so every vehicle i've had or have get's "SUPERIZED" some way or another... lol.
you'll see once i get some pics up (on that note anyone know of a full 1-piece billet grill that will replace my grill?).
i plan on getting a volant intake soon, as well as some stainless headers (any recommendations?) and a re-tuned ecm, with a lower t-stat 180 or 160?.. any other suggestions?... from there i was thinking "SUPER"charger.. but that's going to have to wait for some serious saving :-( it already has 4.10 gears so i'm not going to mess with that. i do plan on lowering my truck but not sure how to go about it yet? (my 05 silverado's ride went to hell after i lowered the rear with 2" drop shackle's) this truck has duel ride control and i like that i want nothing to change but the height?...
but anyway if anyone cares to reply to this with any insight or just to chat feel free.
later.

i'm more then sure the entire group is'nt going to this event.
i've had plenty of people look but no one except rtstork reply, and there were plenty of response's to the "50 series flowmaster post" and the "installed pacesetter headers post" both similiar topics.
all i needed to know is if everyone else that done the duels already, lost any low end torque due to loss of back pressure?. and if i would be better off with small duels 2"-2-1/2"or keep the single exhaust?.
it's easy to complain on me "huffin" but to give an oppinion on what you have, well thats the attitude of the forum that upset me.
sorry if i offended anyone, i'm just trying to open up the groups eye's to realize they need to help and be a litttle more cooperative and helpfull.. thats what the site is for.
