  1. I've got those headers and I think they are fine. I haven't had any problems with them at all. If you gut/remove the cat's, do you still need long tubes for the real power?

yes sir. the real purpose of the long tubes is to scavange the exhaust gases from each cylinder the same to improve your engines VE(volumetric efficientcy). so you need the same length tube for each exahust port to do so which also creates a vaccum effect to help suck out the exhaust gases. so the faster you get the exhaust gases out the faster you can recharge your cylinders with fresh air which =power

  2. I've been looking at Vara-rams velocity stack they claim dyno proven 20 ft of tq. on a 5.3 which is what i have, i dunno how it works on any of you guys 6.0's, but any body got one. if so is it worth the 40 bucks?? thanks

well if you really think about it does exactly what it says it does-"velocity stacks", by reducing the diameter of the throttle body it increase the air speed(velocity) there for filling your cyclinders with air much faster.

  3. that thing is badass! do you race motocross? i'm assuming so because of the holshot mx's and the shocks/a-arms. have you had any engine problems? i heard the YFZ's are the fastest but have had reliability issues? i'm looking at a LTR450 right now, an '07. can you help me decide between the two?

so holty have you decided on which bike your gonna get yet? yamaha YFZ450 :fingersx: or LTR450?

  4. when i say several units, i mean different year trucks with different trans. the year and tranny model usually does just fine.... ive only had one valve not fit, which happened to be my truck. IMO its totally unneccesarry to change the boost valve. i have a stock boost valve, smaller sized bit vb spacerplate holes, one washer in the 1-2 accum, all springs with the hd-2, both sonnax servos w/ pin, and flipped billet accumulator pistons. my truck doesnt shift hard under 60% throttle, you cant really feel it at all. but at or near WOT, it chirps my 22's just fine and is quite breakneck firm into any gear. and dont read this and think i just raised line pressure.... this is at stock pressures; when i raised line pressures just a tad, i was going sideways after the 1-2 shift. shift times were usually about .25-.40 at most on the scanner. i did the same for several customers, and i like to use my own spring in the 1-2 accum to keep from that nasty banging into 2nd.

when you say raised line pressure, was that raised with your tune or just from the springs and boost valve?

  5. here is 2 quick vids, one is of my shee with the helmet cam, first time using it so it was pointed downward and the damn mic was out of the bag picking up windnoise....... This bike had some power behind it, I'm building another one as we speak but not much motor work yet, just PC and paint for the most part.

This is of my pred when trying to situated the low end. Besides the tires being shot and pulling me to the side each time it was a tq monster and kinda fun to ride but was just way to loud once in the higher RPM's

thats cool man. i gotta try that helmet cam thing :ughdance:

  6. Up above, he says it's a 350. If the badges are original, the crossed flags indicate it was a 348 c.i. from the factory. That engine was the basis of the 409. I had a black '59 Impala 2 door hardtop. Looked like the Batmobile! Another one of those that I would love to have back again. :chevy:

BINGO! yes sir you are right on the money
