The Race mesh looks very nice but $500 is pricey! I have the street scenes in black chrome, I like it but would recommend painting the stock grill black or something similar because you can see it behind it, that bugs me.

I have had a lot of trouble with the steering in my '03 SS. I had the ISS replaced twice under warranty, truck only has 47,000 miles. One year ago I bought the borgeson shaft and had it installed, it fixed 90% of the problem but I still noticed a faint rattlilng. It just keeps getting worse now it clunks, vibrates, and rattles. I had the tires rotated and balanced with no improvement. I also have the rotors and pads on the front replaced a year ago, rotor and pads on rear were done a few months ago. No changes. I got under the hood and inspected it, I noticed I can turn the steering linkage with my hand and I hear a knock that may be coming from the gear box but I am not sure. What should I do next to further pin point the problem or does anybody now with some certainty what this is.

I know this thread is old, but if you all haven't done this all ready I would like to be included. I had mine stock replaced once and the replacement has been greased once and is now starting to get slack again.

My truck is currently at the dealer getting it's front differential replaced under an extended warranty. So far my 2003 SS has 39,000 miles on it. How long can I expect this differential to last before this happens again or is it a hit and miss situation. I'm curious because I feel very fortunate that my extended warranty is covering this and I am considering purchasing another one when this one runs out. What would you do and what has the consensus been on the life expectancy of these front diffs?

Welcome aboard. But seriously, does it work? After you put it in Just kidding <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can tell an improvement in throttle response and it has improved feul economy by 1 mpg. I ran my truck down the strip at bristol motor speedway. I ran a 15.5 at my fastest. I never ran my truck before the install, so I can't compare times. I could tell a difference.

I only use 93 octane because that is what the owners manual calls for. I used 87 octane once and could tell a slight difference. Due to gas prices I bought a 96 geo tracker to ride to work.

I wouldn't consider putting anything but mobil 1 in my SS. That is what it has had put in it since I bought it. I bought the SS used with only 5,000 miles on it.

I have dual exhuast, window tint, hard tonneau cover (jason brand), the fram boost. I would like a nelson performance tune, and a STS turbo. That is A LOT of money that I'm just not willing to spend on that right now. I have other plans for that $. I have seen one other woman driving an ss in my area, and it's red like mine, but not as flashy. I'm pretty sure she has chrome wheels. She seems to be quite a bit older than me. In her late 30's to 40's.

Yes that is me, the first person to bring to my attention [" I was surprised how big it was, I didn't know what to expect"] was my mother. I couldn't believe I said that, then I thought "The guys will get a kick out of that." I can't believe that people across the country see me for a second or two in a commercia,l it's surreal. I can do simple mechanic work, I have helped my dad my entire life work on tractor and trailers, motorcycles, old cars, trucks, heavy equipment. Yes I live back in the woods, big time!
