  1. In my opinion it's not that collecable. They made lots..... if

You have the COA that would add a little valve. Fact is Dales been dead a long time and now it's a 11 year old truck. You can probably get a small "premium " over a standard Silverado SS but maybe a thound or two tops. Yours would be collectible if it had like zero miles or really low like only a few thousand miles. At end of the day it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. The other thing working against you is the age. It will be hard for someone to finance an older vehicle so now your looking for a cash buyer.... and they don't grow on trees. If you want top dollar advertise in places that specialize it collector vehicles like Hemings etc. If your really adventurous try and sell it at an auction.....

This. If the truck was 10k miles or less, I could see using "collectible" as a description. It's a used truck that was a couple thousand more when new than any other SSS. I would say KBB is going to be fairly close on value.
  2. If you disconnect the front diff you're going to lose 40% power. I took off the front drive shaft for a few weeks because I had the same problem.

You lose more than that lol. It's not too difficult to hump the 149 t case. Just run it without the front prop shaft. Highly un-recommended. Buy a used np246 case, swap out the 149. You can run that without a front shaft without harming it.
  3. Nice score on the "Hoe". I always liked those Gibbs wheels.

With the mileage on her and knowing shes got trans and maybe T-case trouble, I wouldn't be spending major bucks on aftermarket brakes. (But that's just my tight assed opinion).

True, but a perfect time to upgrade trans and convert to 149 and t case!
  4. Oh shoot I didn't mean to post it three times. Can you tell I have no idea what I'm doing lol. My husbands "name"? On here it's riceeatter I think.

It is a glitch with the site, not you. It has a delay and will post multiple times. Hmm that name does sound familiar. Good luck on your search.

BTW there are some low miles trucks out there. It might be better to buy him a stock low mile truck and let him start with another blank canvas! That's the fun in it imo.

  5. Haven't purchased yet. But I'm looking for a '12-15, after they did the facelift but still with the 4.0 v6. I heard the new ones are weak on power and the trans is constantly searching. Plus I don't like the new front end they put on them.

Another positive side to the older 4.0 v6's is theres a company that's been making very competent, bolt-on, fully tuned blowers for them for years. :D

Yeah my dad has a face lift second gen, and he has the TRD blower. I just bought a new 2017 TRD PRO Tacoma and I'm really liking it. It's way faster than a second gen stock for stock, but no comparison with a supercharged 4.0 that's for sure. Looking at a new 4runner now for my wife, and guess what it has??? The 4.0 lol. The new front end looks good to me, but you need the TRD PRO grille.
