Someone needs this
-
I used some 1/4" diamond plate steel. Folded it diamond plate down and made a tab and just welded it onto the back of the stock member. Have me about 3 extra inches then just measured out and drilled the two holes in it. Ended up working great without hacking up the stock cross member imo.Where did you crossmenber from? I haven't done a whole bunch of research on it yet.

VERY COOL!!Finally someone with A legit headlight retrofit. I would've gone mini d2s instead of mini h1 for ability to use a factory oem bulb that hadn't been debased. But sweet none the less! Good luck with the sale. Wish I had a truck I could use em on.
-
Nah, that stock trans is junk lol. After my 80e swap, the truck literally felt so much more solid. I didn't cringe on the 1-2 shift ever again haha.
-
Take it easy and it probably will. I'd have a nice converter spec'd and built for your setup at the same time as the 80e swap.
-
I actually think you can buy just the clips.....
Yep, the only bad thing on swapping them is that you almost always break the tabs on the handle bezel. I can see the handle itself breaking though from normal use.
-
Nice. Better start thinking about the trans really soon. My 60e barely lasted 500 miles on my 450 awhp magnacharged single cab. With more weight, and more power I can only imagine lol.

This sucks, more and more SS' coming up missing weekly it seems like. When my brother flipped the truck I was building, his no name insurance offered us just under $13K or about $10K and a half if we wanted to keep the truck (which I obviously did to sell the drivetrain I had put into it.) The truck was a 2006 LS single cab short bed z71 with 92,XXX miles on it. I'm surprised they are only offering you barely more than half of what my truck brought. They're definitely cheating out. You should get 10-12 no problem imo even with 150K miles.
-
You? Needing SS parts? You're the SS part-out guy lol. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Just my opinion on this, I am by no means an expert, but I would figure your G80 took a crap on you. It really isn't the best piece of the puzzle in the rear end. Id look into a set of OEM gears for it if the gears got chewed up and a TrueTrac or Eaton Posi LSD. I have used Richmond and Motive gears in a couple of past builds, the Richmond whined like crazy, Motive werent bad. Might consider doing a TA girdle with the stud kit. Should be good as gold with those parts. I am also in the same boat as EXGM and do not trust myself to do gear installs so Ive always used the same local shop.
Yep! Sounds like the typical death of the G80. Go with a trutrac, and motive gears (I believe they make the oem ones.) Like red03 suggested look into a girdle and arp main cap studs. Most of the hurdles are made by the same company like Moser and ta, so just go with the better deal. Unless you can set up a gear set, you'll need to have it professionally done. You're probably looking around a grand or so all said and done if you can find some deals online for parts.

I believe the exhaust is spoken for. Still haven't gotten it from my buddies shop, but if it falls through I will let you know. How about the headers?
BUMP for the blower. It's tax time and I know someone wants to go fast!

We haven't stepped up to Facebook status around here yet you need to use another site called Tapatalk if you wanna post pictures nobody since I've been on here can explain why we have to do that but that's how it is
It's easy to upload pics, but they have to be pretty small files, and each screen name is only allowed so much space, so after a few pics it tells you that you don't have anymore available space. I used to just delete old ones to upload new, but photobucket mobile is so much easier lol. Anuwaus, back to the topic, sorry to crash the thread.....

Hahahaha I know man. He talks that turd up like you'd really think it was something, and leaves the out the only slightly cool part about it lol.The amazing thing is he doesn't mention the turbo AT ALL in the ad. NOT AT ALL. You'd have to look at the pics blown up full size and notice the STS tubing in the engine bay. Yep, rear mount turbo.
By the way; you don't wanna throw any boost or nitrous at those Eagle RS-A's. Could get sketchy.

I see it has a blow off valve and a boost gauge, but I'm not seeing a turbo. Am I missing it??
You'd have to look under the back to see it rear mounted. That truck is retarded though lol.
-
Lol, I know what you mean. I'm hoping with it being tax time that someone will decide to go faster!

I am selling the blower off my truck. It's the radix 112. It has the HD tensioner upgrade, and I have added some other performance parts to it. 90mm j tube, FIC injectors ( can't remember which ones, I'll have to check the reciepts. They were close to $500) x-link, 4bolt throttle body 87mm from a tbss and an extra pulley. Coming off my 2006 with everything you need for install except tuning and fuel pump. I may be able to throw in my oem flex fuel pump. Blower has nearly 25k miles on it. I want $3500 for it with all the extra parts. I can possibly ship at the buyers expense, or pick up in DFW. I might can sell it for less with some of the original parts it came with in place of upgraded parts.
On an LQ9, from what I've read, it should be good for an easy 125 rwhp bolt on.
Only photo I have of it right now (excuse the filthy engine bay):

Pretty cool! It does suck seeing how slow this site is becoming. GM needs to bring back the SSS in the K2XX platform.
-
I don't think you'll be happy with the light output. If it were me and you like those lights, I would buy them, cut them open and put in some legit bi-xenon projectors with an OEM HID bulb (d2s) and run the 4-hi mod.
-
That's not too high of miles imo, if the truck is in good shape. I have a complete blower kit with many upgrades for about half the price you mentioned. I'll be selling soon, I'm down in DFW.

Pm Atomic on the other site and gell get you fixed up. He knows the conversion well, he's the one who builds the brackets everyone is using.
-
Not sure what OP used, but I went with DS301. I think it's the most popular shock for guys wanting to be lowered. What qa1s did you use?

Lol wish I had more of em to sell!
TealTank: both part numbers are in the first post man. I'd grab em both while you're at it.

I have the updated intermediate steering shaft (part #19153614) and the green bushing (part #88963617) which were both updated versions GM put out to correct the steering clunk and slop. I bought these for my 2006 ss clone I was building, but no longer need them. Both parts are brand new uninstalled in factory packaging. Only taken out for the photos. The cheapest I can find them online with free shipping is $69 for the iss, and $32 for the bushing. These are OEM parts from GM.
I am asking $75 shipped and insured to your door. Paypal accepted as gift or add fees.

I have the new d2s morimoto 4.0 bixenon projectors, and osram CBI bulbs for my new truck. Can't wait to see that cut off flicker that the new 4.0s produce!
He's right man. Cancel on the headlights or send them back. Those mh1 projectors are NO JOKE. Absolutely blow factory light output out of the water.OP: do you also have a Lincoln or mercury that you did a retrofit on? I remember coming across your truck and seeing those headlights online a long time ago if so haha.
