  1. The reason I was asking is becuase I purchased a cordless impact driver for removing the lugs.  After spending a day at the track with a friend...watching him remove his rear wheels so he can put on the slicks was painful.

There's gotta be an easier way...............so I bought this:  http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US...84+3966&pos=n24

Is 850 in / lbs of torque enough?  He tried it on his truck and they wouldn't move, but he probably over torqued them when he put them back on.

    Hmm probably not. 850/12 = 70 ft-lbs. :shakehead:

You got a point, P. Maybe I'll return it and get one a little more heavy duty.

  3. I am going to have Pacsetter LT's, Corsa Sport, Zippy Shift Kit, and a TBTC installed in a month, :D  and want to know if I should get a pcm tune afterwards. I am planning on buying some other mods in the future, but it wont be the near future. Should I wait untill then, or just go ahead and get the tune after I get my recent mods installed?

Where are you getting this work done? You're in Miami, right?

  4. Yeah! Its pissin me off, I thought it was my lever to open the hood but its not. I've held it while goin over bumps but i can still hear it down there somewhere else. Is yours in that same area?

Not sure. I haven't tried hold it. I've moved my left foot around presssing it a box (not sure what it is) that seemed loose, but I still get the rattle. It drives me crazy too!

  5. i beleive the 2wd have a lower speed limiter than the awd ss. i think the awd is like 108 and the 2wd is right around 100, are you able to remove or reset your limiter to a higher speed with the handlheld doo hicky?

I'm still stock and hit 107 yesterday. Maybe it went up to 110 on the 07's???

  6. Pass...  it's the exact same engine you have now, except lower compression (9.5 instead of 10 to 1), ARP rod bolts (a good thing), and a street/strip cam.  You can do the same mods to the LQ9 you already have for a grand including tuning and because you have more compression you would have an even stronger motor.  A smart shopper can find a low-mileage LQ9 in a wrecking yard and do the same for a helluva lot less than 7-grand.

    Mr. P.

edit - if you're seriously considering something like this you need to PM zippy about his Comp Cam XER273 recipie.

Damn, you're good. And quick too.

  7. Thanks for that info.  So I should go with the Belltech 2/2 then?
Naaa you can drop the rear another inch over the front IMO, like a 1/2 drop, or a 2/3 drop, or a 3/4 drop - it will look a lot more leveled out but still have a 1" rake. This is all subjective, if you like that totally laid-out look then do a drop with a 2" stagger, like 1"/3" or a 2"/4" and the wheel well openings will be level (0" rake).

    Mr. P.

I understand completely what you said about keeping a little rake in your previous post, but I like it more leveled. Maybe the 2/4 is the way to go. I'm hoping to meet some of the So. Fla SSS guys so I can see what they have. I makes a big difference when you can actually SEE what you're looking for.

    Thanks again for the tips.

  8. Does anyone know when this option became available on the SSS. I've seen soome pics of some of your interiors, ande I don't see the TC button I have on mine.

It's supposed to prevent the rear tires from slipping. If I floor it with it on, it's tough to spin them.......but when I turn it off, I can loose the rear end......even from a complete stop.
