  1. Kelly preformance hmmm,I got to check it out.I need a new mod shop for a cam install. How much did you end up spending on your tranny?I want to do mine, just a zippy shift kit on mine.

I didn't figure out how much just the tranny stuff was cause I had some other stuff done as well. Just send him a PM and he'll send you a quote. I'm thinking of a cam too.

  2. I think I know what it is. I had the same problem and it would drive me crazy. It's just some plastic pieces under the dash that are moving around. I took a peice of foam and wedged in between a couple of items down there and it's all gone. I'll try to post some pics of what I did later.

  3. no im not 100% its the tranny, i couldnt pinpoint the origin of it. i did just install a short ram. could that be it? i just figured it was the trans because it only happens when its trying to shift.

But are you at high RPM's when you hear the whistle? I have the same whistle and it's coming from the Volant and BBK throttle body combo.

  4. i'm in miami as well...how much were you asking for it?

I'm not sure it will fit a short box. I was told the SS has a standard box.

does it have the electric option to open it??? is it pace edwards??

    It's a Roll-n-Lock, without the electric option.

  5. the dynatechs come with magnaflow highflow cats, and all piping to connect to any cat-back system. the nice thing about them is that they are truely bolt on, no welding or anything. however, they are pricey.... the corsa sport will be signifigantly louder than it is now, you might be happy with it. the flow isnt all that bad on a LT and corsa set-up, i had checked the back pressure on my touring and dynatechs..... it was no issue even with my setup.

i would go with a cam next; you will loose some low end torque with a really free flowing exhuast and LTs. IMO, id stick with stock manifolds with a radix. you will loose boost and torque with too large of an exhuast, period.

btw........................ that maggie price is severely on the high side; i think i know where you can get a GREAT deal on a new kit with a used blower

I'm waiting on you buddy. Make me an offer I can't refuse :D

  6. My vote is no for pacesetters...you are building your truck for longevity. The main draw for Pacesetters is that is cheap. It is a header with a great bang for the buck ratio. First you should ask if you are keeping cats. Since its a pain in the ass to get a proper fitting cat.

My vote for headers? Belanger or Dynatech.

OK. So lets assume that I go with the Dynatech's. Do I go with the complete setup, or should I just get the headers and use the Magnaflow Hi-flow cats?

I guess while I'm at it, I should change my muffler setup, as the Corsa may not be the best catback for this setup. I'm sure there are hundreds of scenarios.

  7. Now that I have the tranny work out of the way, I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do next. I'm considering the following:

    1. New cam. Probably a Lingenfelter GT2 or something similar. I figure between cam, install and re-tune it will run me around $1000-1500.

    2. Dynatech Long tubes, X-pipe, High flow cats, new mufflers (maybe magnaflow), and cutoms piping. taking a wild guess, something like this may run me about the same as above...$1000-1500.

    3. Or do I go directly into the Radix? Intalled it may run me about $6500 -$7000.

My $$$ may be off, so feel free to correct me. Looking for opinions.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. how's this.. taken from my camera phone..

Nice. I was just at the Harley dealer looking at a used 02 Fatboy. Lot's of custom parts, seat, ape hangers, rims w/ matching rotors, ect. They were asking $9,995. It has 7100 miles on it. Was a trade in. I thought the price was too good to be true.

  9. Gotcha, so, theoretically, the warranty should not be affected? Might other dealerships get heartburn over this, or is this not of concern to you? Just curious, seems as if beefing the trans is never a bad idea- unless it might alter the dealer's/GM's responsibility to repair under warranty.

In my case, I don't have an issue. Not sure how other dealerships feel about such mods. I do know that there are very few dealerships that would even attempt to mod a vehicle as I've done to mine.....and even less dealerships that have a dyno!

Once again, I'm very fortunate to have met kelleyperformance.

  10. All in all, how much time do you gather you've spent on the tranny beef-up? Is it more of a "stealth" shift-kit, so as to avoid the curious and angry stares of your local dealership, or did you say heck with it and do what you wanted? Sounds like you have a nicely running truck; congratulations!

Every single one of my mods have been dealer installed. My dealer has a "performance division", and they work on mostly corvettes. I was surprised to hear that vehicles come from all over the place to have these guys work on them.

They do great work and really know what they're doing.

  11. NICE! Big difference huh!? Over the summer I may drive up to Orlando I heard they have a all wheel drive Dyno over there that can fit the SS. So man....how does it drive now?

Oh and start skippin some meals for the "super fund". Adding the pennies as you go man ;)

It drives great. It pulls nice and chirps second  The throttle response is great at speed.
