  1. im just gettin the headers tho. i already have the cats. just need it connected. im not gettin their y pipe section. nothing annoys me more than an exhaust leak. my blazer i was replacing the doughnuts every few months cuz they never sealed!
  2. my uncle has a repair shop. the whole exhaust is welded up to the manifolds as it is. so might as well. by the time my trans goes hopefully.....my exhaust will need to be redone anyway. its two years old now and just reg steel pipe. i have a thing for exhausts cant keep it the same forever. so if its not rotted out by then. ill just have it redone, no biggy. i do all the reg work on my back. but for a tranny i would use my uncles lift. i did the trans in my fullsize blazer in a few hours. same tranny pretty much and yes i had to drop the y pipe. but its already welded there anyway. i just need the headers connected to the cats.
  3. haha i am the tranny guy lol. ok well i guess ill just have him weld it all up. hope i dont crack any pipes. they are almost 900 bucks. close to dynatechs. if there is interest i can see if he will do a group buy. let me know asap if anyone is interested. im calling next week!
  4. last question! my whole exhaust is welded. my exhaust guy says he will just weld the pipe between the cats and the headers. is that a good idea? will something crack from the flex from the torque of the motor? and thank you all for your help, much appreciated. dan ill pm you for some part numbers lol
  5. if i can reuse my stock gaskets. yeah when i order ill ask for just the headers and see what he can do. he seemed to want to haggle lol. 1 7/8 are badass. gotta go with them i think. lol
  6. ok i am going with the ARH should i go with 1 7/8 or 1 3/4 there is a 50 dollar dif. i think ill just get the 1 7/8. and prob the taylor wires. should i get stock gaskets? he says there graphite or carbon or whatever are the best you can buy?
  7. thats a good point...my whole exhaust is dual 3" so that would defeat the purpose going with 2.5 collector. the american racing i was looking at and talkin to steve about. but they are for 07+. on the other hand im pretty much stock so i dont really see a need for 1 7/8. just hate to expand the pipe from the collector to the cats. all 3" would be easier and prob make more sense. ok i just got off the phone with the guy from american racing. they make headers for the 03ss 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 both with 3" collectors. he guarantees they are the best you can buy hands down. (dont they all) but the guy was very helpful and we worked out a price. he recommended east coast supercharging as the dealer. also i was surprised to hear..he says no coating. he said unless its being shown. dont bother. he said they never had a problem with engine temps related to the headers. they actually make the headers for some big name engine builders. so american racing may be the way i go.
  8. anymore feedback? i am going to eat my previous words cuz i got the new blackberry 8530 with the motion pad. the phone is simple and does more than i need it to. but the texting is all weird. it wont open texts sometimes and various other problems. and my friends iphone is sick as hell! so i was thinkin of maybe trying the droid.
  9. ok i have been reading about headers on here forever! i think i have decided to go with the dynatechs. due to consensus of a great fit, quality, and overall product. does anyone have anything negative to say about them or a header that they would strongly recommend over these? i am only purchasing the headers and having my exhaust guy do the mid pipes. Does anyone know of a good ceramic coater in the NJ area? Also any recommendations on locking bolts or plug wires? thanks/

  15. first off chris does terrible work. his price was way too cheap and everything was done way to quick! :jester: hahah. Just kidding, chris did 3 remote starts for me and everything is perfect. he is right you will not even get close to the time and cost if you go to a shop to have these installed. +3 for a great guy and he knows his stuff!

  19. chris was right off the street. with alot of extra weight, and a bad 02 sensor cough cough! in traffic lol. but was pretty impressive! chris is a great guy! glad i got to go and see all of you! its been too long. i didnt see chis's run in the video?
