Ok, so I want to get a really good alarm on my truck before I drop serious money on mods or stereo. What should I look at doing? Here is what I am thinking right now..... two batteries in separate locations Loud, distinct siren Well hidden alarm "brain" Kill switch Shock sensors on the windows Paging capabilities I don't want this thing to be easily disabled by a thief, and if someone does want my truck or something in it, it will be a huge pain in the ass or look to be time consuming for the thief. I fully realize if someone really wants the truck they will get it, but I want them to go through hell and back to get it. So, what do you think of what I listed and what should I add? What could I expect to pay for all that and whatever else, and does anyone know a good, quality, reputable installer in Austin TX?

Are the Magnaflows pretty loud? Aggressive sounding? Also, sizewise, would two of them fit side-by-side?

I have a 15 month old red nose Pit bull. He's been a great dog, he is good with all people, and other dogs. I hope that lasts. I just wish I had a yard for him!

I have 3 inch true dual exhaust, Pacesetter longtubes, hi-flo cats with dual 3 inch bullet mufflers, turn downs before the axle. The sound is not very clean, depending on RPM's, and is raspy. I was wondering what options I have to replace the bullets. The problem is not being loud, I just want a cleaner sound. I really like aggressive LS1 longtube-type sound. Anyone have any suggestions or soundclips?

No offense but I hate that "price to low to advertise" crap. Just an excuse to get people on the phone.

Deer Park Muffler. They are in Deer Park on Center Street, two miles south of 225 on the left side. I've had work done there twice, great work both times. They installed my pacesetter LT's, two hi-flo cats, fabbed up my 3 inch true dual exhaust with dual bullets and dumped, all for $400. Again, they installed everything, headers, fabbed up the whole exhaust from scratch, for $400. MTI wanted $400 just to put the headers on, no exhaust work whatso ever. I highly reccomend Deer Park Muffler.

So what kind of alternator should I look for? Brand? Price? Where should I look for one?

Well I do have a 1000 watt amp and two 12 inch subs, but I only have the bass on 30% of the time, if that. I get a tired of listening to it anymore than that. $135 for a battery? Ouch, hope that thing lasts a long time. EDIT: How can I tell for sure if it is the stock, original battery?

I have an '03 SSS, just wondering how long I should expect my alternator to last. I am around 63,000 miles. Getting colder, thats when these things seem to fail. Also, what about batteries? How often do they need replacement, and how much should one cost?

I am in Austin and want my '03 SSS tuned. I don't have a lap top or any knowledge of tuning, so i can't do it myself. I'll pay you and travel to you, just let me know.

I am looking to see if there are any good performance suspension kits for my 03 SS. I am not looking to really lower my truck much, but if say, new shocks lowered it an inch or two that would be fine. Are replacing the front sway bars and adding rear ones worth it? What else should I look at replacing? (truck as 62,000 miles now)

Do you have to be the original owner of the truck or have the letter?

Any heavily modded SSS roaming around? I briefly saw a black ss the other day, but other than that mine is the only one around here.

So, H-pipe or X-pipe?

How much? Also, how much should I expect to spend on parts and labor? And, are servos just "servos", there are no specifications or anything?

Alright, I want to go with a cam in the future, so I need to fortify the transmission. Current mods are: Pacesetter LT's, 3 inch true dual exhaust, hi flo cats and bullet mufflers, air raid intake. I've been reading around a bit, and seems I need to go with a shift kit/servos and tq converter. Any good brands or kits I should look for? I know next to nothing about transmissions, so please be specific, and help me out on parts that will complement each other. As for the cam, it won't be too wild, as the truck needs to remain a daily driver, reliable, and pass emissions. Thanks guys!!

I just moved here from Houston about a month ago, just wondering if any fellow SS owners are in the area. Could use a heads up if any tuners are around and good exhaust and tranny shops around town. Maybe an ATX SS meet?

Not re-routed, but the exhaust was built from scratch, looks like a good deal of fabing is needed to get an x-pipe onto my system.

So everything you need to use those comes witht he kit? Nothing else needed?

N00b question, what is the function of the x pipe, how does it effect performance and sound, and how much does it typically cost to fab one up?

I just heard a clip of the Corsa Sport, LOVED it, but is there a cheaper way to get a similar sound?

I like the volume, but I have mixed feelings on the actual sound. Its hard to explain, but I feel the sound is just too wild, like a wall of noise, too disorganized. Again, i love loud, but i wonder if I can get a better quality sound. Would adding tips alter the sound for the best? Or would I be better off with a catback? Open to all suggestions.
