  1. After this post I tried figuring it out, I drive 4 miles per day to and from work, so 20 miles a week, I decided to go fill it up after driving those 20 miles and it took 4.1 gallons of gas, crazy huh? That's what about 5 mpg if I'm not mistaken
  2. You guys are lucky, my 06 2WD gets an average of 10.3 mpg. In L.A. you can't break 30 mph on the streets or 50 mph on the freeway the traffic is so bad...
  3. Here is what I use... http://www.meguiars.com/?clear-plastic-car...-Cleaner-Polish
  4. Mobil 1 10/30 - K&N HP Oil Filter, only has 1900 miles on oil, will change around 3000, also replaced diff. oil with Mobil 1 75/90 synthetic + 7oz. additive, I'll do synthetic trans. as well at first change probably around 12-15K...
  5. Sorry, I didn't see " no clones " at first. I originally posted a website, but it's for clones, again sorry...
  6. I was wondering about the Mercon VI trans oil. Is it a synthetic? It's a dealer only oil I have come to find out. What's so special about it? Aaron...
  7. So I just changed it, I used Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W/90W diff. oil. My 06 was different from the "How To" I got under there and there was a drainplug and a fill plug. I drained it all and filled it up with about 3.5 quarts, drove it, rechecked it and it's perfect. I bought the gasket but didn't need it because I didn't have to remove the diff. housing. Overall it worked out great... Thanks for all your help Mr. P !!!
  8. Actually I have one last question Mr. P, should I do the diff. oil change when my truck is warmed up or cold? Aaron...
  9. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Mr. P, my 06 SS has 2700 niles on it and I haven't changed the diff. oil yet. The reason why is because the scheduled maintanence in the owner's manual does not state to change it because it's factory sealed and filled with synthetic fluid. Does the synthetic fluid really need to be changed within 500 miles? What dou you think ?, I really respect your opinion from reading all of your posts. What effects will I notice if I don't change it right away and how often should it be changed on a regular basis? Any help I'd really appreciate. Thanks Aaron...
  11. The actual size is 2.75" OD. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...ndpost&p=314103
  12. Well, I went with the Pirelli Scorpions and love them. I had the Goodyear LS's on my old truck and they wore out quick and had poor dry traction. I have the LS2's on my SS and am considering changing them to Scorpions. After I put the Scorpions on my old truck the ride was smoother, better handling and better dry traction. As far as wet traction it seems about the same. Now the way I saved some money was by going to see if tire shops will match the on-line price. I tried "Pep-Boys" and they matched the Tirerack.com price and did not charge me for shipping which saved me probably $125.00 I think the charge is. Of course I just picked up the tires and took them to a real tire shop to install because the Pep-Boys service dept. can mess up putting gas in your truck. Good luck to you...
  13. I'm sorry to hear man - rest assured "what goes around comes around" with that thief he'll get his. I hope you find it, my neighbors truck was stolen recently and it was recovered in the same condition so good luck to you, so where in Glendale do you work ?, I live and work in Sherman Oaks...
  14. Yeah I have it but not by my choice, when I bought my SS the dealer pre-installed it.
  15. I have 50 series big block # 530513, it's a dual 3" inlet - single 3.5" outlet. I wouldn't go with the 524454 because the dual inlet is 2.25" on that one. The pipes are actually 2.75" coming from the headers going into a 3" dual entrance with one single 3.5" exit with 530513 by Flow. I have an 06 SS so I don't know if 03-05 is the same. Anyway, I love the sound - it's deep, aggressive and mean. There is some resonance in the cab, but not too much. It totally doesn't sound like the website sound clips either. Good luck...

    Need new tires

I have the Pirelli Scorpion's on my other truck - love them!
  17. I just installed a 50 series Big Block F-master Dual 3" inlet / Single 3.50" outlet. My muffler guy said it was a special kit for an 06 SS. My buddy with the same truck installed that Flo-Pro and it's just too noisy in the cab. My Flow sounds deap and mean with a quiet cab at the same time. I am real happy with it, here's the part # if your interested - Flowmaster # 530513
  18. So, I just bought an 06 SS and the factory says it has 345HP. Is this right? How many HP do you have with all of your mods?
  19. Hey, I live in Van Nuys and there is a car wash on Ventura Bl. and Van Nuys Bl. called "The Handy-J Car Wash" - yes that's the name and no sorry the detail doesn't come with one. I took my girlfriend's car in there and the paint was destroyed. I thought I picked it up from the paint shop instead of the detailer. They did a great job and charged me $150.00 for a small car. I think a truck is around $250-300. I hope this helps...
  20. Here is the part # 96181P I went through hell trying to find one. I tried E-Bay, customs shops, body shops, my dealer and on-line stores - everywhere. So after all this research and trial/error here are the facts. I purchased this emblem from Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge, CA. There is NOTHING special about the emblem. The trick is that you have to buy an "03-04 Full Size Silverado HD" emblem. This emblem will fit all 03-06 Chevy Silverado 1500 Grilles as well as 2500 HD and 3500 models. They only come from the dealer in "Billet Aluminum" It is an OEM part from GM. I hope this helps...
  21. The main key is to clean your tires first. I use "Westley's Bleech-White Blackwall Cleaner" Wet the tires well, spray it on really heavy and scrub with a bristle brush and then rinse. You see by cleaning the tires first you remove all the road grime and brake dust which clogs the pores in the rubber, thus making the rubber clean so the tire shine absorbs. Now as far as the product that absorbs the best, lasts longest and is the shiniest well, I've tried them all and belive it or not the "Extreme Tire Shine by Armor-All" has worked the best for me. The second key is to waiting at least 15-30 minutes before driving. I usually wait an hour at least. I know it's extra work but the payoff is worth it to me in the end.
