  2. I dont want a large Farva, I wanna liter a cola! I need to get a life....lmao
  3. Just heard from him today, he has a batch of the polished ones that have the black inlay, hit him up before they are gone.
  4. littering and... littering and......
  5. They are unlawfull? I know radar jammers are, I'm guessing for FAA reasons and what not. Bummer about them not working. Personally I would rather have a small displace the showed the location of and LEO in my genral area, you know, incase I ever needed there help
  6. I've been meaning to try the Breslin on our 72 camaro. Using ARP now and have to tighten from time to time. Though I hear it can be lessend but using Earls gaskets, with the gasket material in a metal sandwitch, cant for the life of me rememeber the name.
  7. You really cant go wrong with stainless. This is even more true if you like a nice clean looking engine bay. They wont rust like the oxide will.

    06' SSS!

gotta be the belt. I already discoved that little qwert on my truck. Must be the age old "small block mouse" squeak lol
  9. We have the OC autoshow at my work and I have been checking out the new gen Silverados. I'm not impressed. Use of plastic is way up. Hell the friggin put a 395HP LS 2 in the dang Trailblaser SS. Yeah I'm miffed Damn soccer moms are gonna have more poneys than me dammit
  10. I was wondering if it was some sealing issue. I havnt noticed and major leaks when I wash it. I have noticed a little water on the metal by the sil plates and around the door, wasnt really sure if it was related or not.
  11. Just wondering how much wind noise is normal with our trucks? if any. I can hear some over 50, I havent realy had much of a chance to investagate. I was thinking maybe its just the wind going into the grive but I thaught I would ask people that have time under there belt with these trucks.
  12. Thanks Zick! Thats exactly what I needed!
  13. Maybe some one here can help me. I've decided to go with a Corsa system but I'm torn between the two models, sport and touring. I've heard the sport and several vids posted on the board but I couldnt find any vids of the touring. Could some one with the touring system post a vid for me? I just want to be able to make a fair call before I decide.
  14. Give me a little more info and pcm tuning. I think its fair to say that the dealer would not be to happy with me having one and would void my warrany? I think that I could keep my stock pcm for trips to the deal and outright buy a new controler, but thats gotta cost a small fortune. I would love to have some tuning done after I get an exhaust done since these trucks have so much more that one can get out of them, I just dont want to hang myself out to dry warrany wise when something dose break *aka the tranny lol*. Options fellas?
  15. I'll recheck the level in the moring and see were it settles down at after having beem drivin a little bit. If its a little high, easy enough to get extra out to avoid excess foaming.
  16. Whoohoo! Got my first chore with the truck done today. First oil change and changed the lube in the diff. Man this thing is so easy to work on compared to what im used to. Only supprise was the diff to about 3.5 quarts, that threw me a little. Made sure I did the figure 8's as advised, everything feels good. When I switch to syn at about 3000 I think I will have a tranny service done then also and refill with syn there to. I figure its like chicken soup, it cant hurt!
  17. Mine didnt come with syn either, I even called two diffrent places to make sure, But as soon as I get 2-3000 miles on it you can bet I'm switching over to a full synthetic.
  18. Thanks misterp, I cant wait to pop the service cherry on the truck! *dose happy dance*
  19. I'm getting ready to do the fluid change on the rear end since I'm close to 500 break in miles on the truck. I just looked the other day and the rear has a drain plug and fill plug * yay no mess!* Anyhow, Do I just fill until it trickles out the fill hole? I've done a few searches and its close is I can find it takes between 2-3 qts of fluid. I'm guessing that is how I would do it but I just want to make sure.
  20. I'm just going to come out and say it, this is my first new vehichle, ever. My wife and I have been driving our 72 camaro for the past 5 years and know how hard we can beat on it, granted its built faily stout, with a TCI trans, 30 spline Moser axles and a GMPP ZZ383. Now thats is a fairly bullet proof, ideot proof car. Now this truck on the other hand is a whole new world to both of us, with the tracktion control OD trans with a towing switch on the shifter. I really dont know how I should treat this truck, shifting it like the maro is just out, since it has no shift kit. I like how the tow botton holds the gear longer but I realy dont know if thats good for it in daily driving. Heck, I dont even know what I should exspect to pay when I take it in for its first oil change. I'm used to changing rear end fluid at 300 miles in and performance type ride, also wondering what the dealer will chager for that as I am at 299 miles now * whooohooo* I much rather do it myself being a gearhead at heart, but since I got the extended warranty I dont want to give them a loophole to shaft me later down the line if I do and maintance myself. Basically I'm proud as hell that I got an SS for my first new car buy, I just want to get the most out of it and treat it right, So any advice would be very welcome.
  21. hehe yeah, I'm a little old school. You can have any coor you want, as long as its black Exhaust wise though Corsa looks like the way to go from what I have read, maybe around income tax time tehehe. 2 days and counting with this truck and all I can say is I am in love! I just have to be carefull with mods, If I spend to much money on the SS, our camaro will get jealous lol.
  22. Thanks for the warm welcome! As far a mods go they will be very mild. I'm intertaining the idea of a better exhaust, possibly a cold air intake. I also want to quickin up the shifts, not make it shift harder, just make it more efficient. Just little things to make it more injoyable, that and I want to keep the smog nazis off my back in my wonderful *not* state.
  23. Hello everyone, Just wanted to get the noob stuff out of the way, being a new member here and a new SS owner. Little background info, I live in not always so pleasant souther california * OC baby! * and have wanted a Silverado SS since I first laid eyes on one. Well lastnight my wife and I picked up our new *never sold* 2006 black SS. Needless to say I'm excited! hell, I only got two hours of sleep lastnight lol. So this seems like the place to be as far as our trucks are concerned, very nice forum you all have here. That being said, this is my first new vehicle ( yay! finaly get to take our 72 camaro out of daily driver duty) purchace and I was wondering if you could give me any helpfull hints, tips for things I should look up, or info I should get from the dealer. What I would like to try to get, though I dont think they have them for new trucks, is some sort of build sheet. I'd really like to know exactly what I have in my truck, above and beyond what the windo stick lists lol or dosnt list. Once again, great place you have here, and I look forward to participating. plz for give any typos, total lack of sleep here lol
