  1. :withstupid: I have never let the delaership touch my truck.

I'm going to be really careful now going to dealerships. The only one i trust is the dealership i bought my truck from, i have dealt with them alot, but they are 4 hours away so i could not go there for my repairs. I need to get some other warranty work done on my truck. Im going to get the rear window latch replaced on the passenger side because too much air is coming thru. I was going to get it fixed at the dealership that this happened at but now im actually going to drive 4 hours just to get the work done at the good dealership

  2. nice kill man! I hate those ugly things. Motor Trend has does lots of tests that seem a little fast. They say that and 03 ss will do a quarter in 14.8 but most trucks stock seem to run in the mid to low 15's so i dont always trust those times

  3. Thanks for all the support guys. I started a claim with my insurance company and its covered under comprehensive so i only have to pay 250. So its going to get fixed next week at a body shop. Im just going to let my insurance company battle it out with the dealership to try to get my money back.

But im going to tell as many people as i can about how the dealership screwed me over. living in a town of only 8k and managing a restaurant where i talk to a hundred people a day, So i think i might be able to make an impact on them. If i can get a few people to not buy a vehicle from the dealership because of the bad experiences i had then i feel like i accomplished something.

  4. Hey those a pretty cool man. Im about 3 hours from Portland. I would love to help you out, it would give me a change to get out of the town i live in but i prob would not be able to get away. Your best bet would be the one in Denver or Dallas because im not 100 percent sure but i may be like one of the only ss members in Oregon (at least ones who actually post on the site). so it may be hard finding someone in the Portland area

  5. To have a true viking funeral you need to gather up a whole bunch of your treasures and place them in the bed and also you need a attractive woman slave who is willing to sacrifice herself. Then you light it on fire, you do this because now all of your treasures and possessions and the attractive female slave will not accompany you to the halls of Valhalla, where you and your truck, your treasures and the attractive female will live forever until Ragnarök (fate of the gods) when you will fight with the God Odin and the rest of the Aesir (glorious dead) against the Frost Giants and the evil gods.

Im sorry i just had to say that, im such a nerd. I have always been interested in Mythology especially Norse Mythology :D

  6. A garage can never be too big thats what i say. Get the biggest one possible. My dad has a 2500 square foot garage (50X50) and its not big enuf. He always kicks himself for not building it at least 50X70 if not 70X70. Can you imagine a 4,900 square foot garage how cool would that have been

  7. Ok so last week my front passenger door would not open. It sounds like what might have happened was the wind caught the door and it tweaked the hinges and then my door would not open more than couple of inches. So i brought it down to the local chevy dealership and they said oh yeah we can fix it under warranty.

So Today i dropped off my truck and about and hour later they called me and said that they were not going to be able to to fix my truck that i needed to take it to a body shop because it was not going to be covered under warranty. So already im a little angry that they wont fix it and now i have to start a claim with my insurance and take it to another body shop.

So then my girlfriend took my truck down to the body shop for me. When she got down there the guy at the body shop went to look at my truck and noticed there was a huge dent in the front quarter panel, that was obviously caused by someone opening the door really hard.

So I took it back to the dealership and asked them where the hell the dent came from and then claim that it was there when i brought the truck in. Which is total Bull S@&T!!! :banghead: They claim that the guy who first looked at my truck noticed the dent right away and he immediately notified his supervisor and then he called me.

So basically this is just a case of my word against his. But im still really pissed :fume: So i called my insurance company and i will just have them go after the dealership. I just want my truck fixed

  8. So i just got done watching that show on speed channel called Pass Time, Im sure most have you guys have seen it. For those who ave not its a really sweet show. its a game show where 3 contestants compete by guessing how fast a vehicle will do a quarter mile. Its actually a really fun show because you can play along.

Anyway there was a guy on there with an 03 GMC sierra with the 4.8 with SS badges on the truck. I was so angry I wanted to jump through the tv and slap him. i mean come on putting fake SS badges on a Chevy is one thing but a GMC? And the guy on the show who is supposedly the car expert competing against the amateurs, he actually asked if it was a real SS

  9. my cats and O2's were repositioned after i installed my LT's, but they dont sit much farther from where they were stock. 3 inch mendrels from LT's back in to a 3in-3out X-pipe in to a flowmaster (soon to be changed) and out behind both rear tires at an angle.

Man I love that setup too. I wanted to do that to my last truck and i planned on doing it to the SS when i was looking for one but the one i found already had duals out the back and i have never changed it to your setup, i figured there is no point in changing it if the duals are still good

  10. Yeah i took my truck to the local chevy dealership this morning and luckily im still covered under factory warranty so its going to get fixed next week for free. I also get to make a list of a couple other things that are wrong so i can get those fixed before my warranty expires in June

  11. So my passenger door wont open on my truck. The last time it was opened the wind was blowing really hard and it blew open fast, it made a little creek noise but i did not think anything of it. but the next time my GF tried to open the door to get in it wont pen more than a couple of inches.

And the front part of the door is rubbing against the front quarter panel. I'm planning on taking it to the body shop as soon as i get a chance hopefully it will be covered in my extended warranty.

Has this happened to any of you guys before?

  12. yeah i dont use my cd player much either....aint it nice to be able to control your ipod from your deck??

Yeah it is. With my previous Alpine deck you could control the Ipod too but it was more difficult then this new unit. with my last deck lets say if you wanted to listen to an artist that started with the letter N, you would have to turn and turn and turn the scroll until you found that artist, then if you wanted to listen to another artist lets say that started with O, then you would have to start all the way at the beginning again and turn it and turn it.

But this new deck is so much easier it exactly like using the Ipod

  13. Alpine IDA-X001

I just installed this deck in my truck and I love it. Its such and awsome head unit. The only problem it does not have a CD player. This is not a big deal to me because i use my ipod so much and rarely ever listen to cd's anymore. This deck makes it so easy to navigate the thru the ipod and find the songs i want to listen too. One day a might get a changer so i can have the ability to listen to cd's I wanted to have my other deck installed under my new one but they said it was going to cost something like 300 plus an entire day to install so i said hell no on that

  14. no they do need to warm up but mine have lots of usable light at start up, no problems at all. BTW why do you use your high's? my low beams are all i need, they are way brighter than the highs. . . .

Yeah my dims are brighter then my brights but they dont seem to shine as far down the road as the brights and the brights cover much more area.

  15. So i noticed a problem that does not make me to happy about my HID lights. I have the lights in my dims and i love them as long as im driving around with my dims on. Well i was driving home on a long trip, and there was verry little traffic so my bright Lights were on for quite a long time. Then when a car came i turned off my brights and wow i could barely see. My Hid's were realy dark and it took a second for them to warm up. I nearly ran off the road because i could not see.

I was just wondering if it was common for HID light to take a few seconds to warm up or is it just my cheap chineese Ebay lights?

I was thinking about getting the kit that keeps the dims on when the brights are on. i had this in my las truck and loved it but i did not have HIDs then. My fear is that this may pull to much power especially if i get HIDs in the brights. and im afraid that having both the dims and the brights on at the same time will be too hot and start to melt my lenses or the wires.

    What do you guys think
