Before i talk about this kill that happened last night, i need to explain something about the people in the town i live in. The only people in the town i live in that race are kids with ricers who think they are so bad ass, running around town trying to race everyone and hanging out in the mall parking lot. There are only a hand full of worthy people to race in my town, there are 3 other SS's and One Lightning and thats all when it comes to fast trucks (besides the people who think there titans are fast or the fake SS's). Im sick and tired of all these ricers who think there thousand dollar hatchbacks are the S@#T.
Anyway now that i got that off my chest. I was driving from work back to my house last night when i saw in my rear view mirror and little POS early 90's Civic Hatch Back. It was and ugly yellow with no hood ( I guess he was trying to show off his engine or something) he had at leas an intake and an inter cooler but no turbo and most likely and engine swap, headers and one of those exhausts that kind of sound like a high powered weed Whacker.
Anyway is saw him in my rear view whipping in and out of traffic like a dumb S@#t and he pulled up next to me and reved his weed whacker, sorry i mean his engine. so i revved back. I could tell he thought there was no way my 5K pound truck could beat his little 2K pound honda. As soon as the light turned green i let him know what my AWD Silverado SS was all about i just left him in my dust ( I only have a Catback and a CAI). when he pulled up next to me at the next light i could tell he was in shock but he tried it again. too bad i had to turn off and go to my house or i would have raced him again. I just hope that he now has a little respect for AWD SS's

P.S. The other things i hate are Tundras and Ricers who think ther little pos thousand dollar hondas are the brest

Its not going to work, not buying gas for one day will not lower the price of gas nor will it take money out of the pockets of the oil companies, even if everyone in America did that.
You’re talking to someone with a bachelor’s degree in economics I know what I am talking about.
Plus what about the ma and pa owned gas stations that are barely scraping by, a single person not buying gas for one day could potentially put a small ma and pa gas station out of business
Also the oil companies have already sold there oil to oil refiners so they have already made there money and your not taking money out of there pockets.
Plus there is not way you could get everyone in America to not buy gas for one day
I hate the high gas prices just like the next guy but really there is not much we can do about it

those times were almost identical to first times and i had 3/4 of a tank and i have a cat back flowmaster as well as a FIPK.

Get a tune and lose the passenger and you will be in good shape.
yah ill get a tune one of these days.............and yah next time ill drop the passenger, it was my girlfriend and she did not want to sit in the stands all by herself, you know how that can be

Well i finaly took my tuck to the track yesterday and i had alot of fun.
My Best time was 15.6 at 89.4 MPH
My truck is mostly stock i have a K&N FIPK and Cat back Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, i ran my truck with about 3/4 tank of gas with the tailgate up and a passanger, i dont think these times are too bad for my first time
It sucked tho i had to race the same truck twice and that truck was a Dodge 2500 diesel with lots of mods he ran a 12 flat so he smoked me but it was still fun i also had to race a 72 Nova and it only beat me by like a car length so that was sweet........I cant wait to do more mods and take it back out!!!

so if i was to get a tune how do i know what specifications i need, when i went to the PCM for less site they asked all these questions like:
Duration @ .05
Lift
I dont know what to do here i dont know enuf about my truck or the engine to know that to do

t-stat and intake (CAI i assume) should be easy... the rest... well... if you're not mechanically inclined.. i'd definitely take it to your local muffler shop. (for the exhaust). Just stick around and make sure they don't charge you for them being on a lunch break!

I already have a flowmaster exhaust, and a intake on the way, just have to order it . I probebly should do a 160 t-stat then next huh? They seem like they are not to difficult to to instal. I im not very mechanicaly inclinded and i have very little time, but it seems like i can do the t-stat by myself

If I was to get a tune, would it be smarter for me to get headers first, so they can tune to the headers. Same with a thermostat. Because i woul like to get heads too

i just recently purchased my 05 SS a couple of months ago and i would like to do a few performance modifications, just a few. I cant decide if i want to get a professional tune done or should i just get a handheld programmer.
Ive done some research and it seems like a tune is kind of a pain in the ass, because you cant go back to stock settings if you like.
What would you guys suggest i do? Would it be smarter to do other mods first like headers or intake?
I also plan in about a year to get a Whipple supercharger and when i get it i will have them tune my truck
So what should you suggest i do to get a little more power before i get the charger?

So funny story a couple of weeks ago i got in a wreck with my SS. Some guy pulled out in front of me and i had no chance of stoping and i plowed right into him. it was totally his fault and thats what all the witnesses said but of course he says its not his fault and his insurance company has not claimed fault yet, and its been almost 3 weeks.........which is making me very angry
anyway i got my insurance company to pay for it and hopefully i get my money back
But anyway so like a week after i get my truck back i hit a deer
Its crazy i cant believe this happened 2 accidents back to back..........this was my first accident invomving another car bu it is the seventh deer i have hit in my life
I thi8nk God does not want me to drive and SS
