  1. i notice that im quite a bit younger than most of the members on this site. (im 21) but i'll see if i can make it out to hooters saturday. which location? the one off of i-40?
  2. i try searching on this forum and i quess my comp. is slow. cuz it takes "FOREVER" to load the results (if it loads them at all). everything else loads at normal speed. this isnt my first forum. and i have never had this problem before. so i'm left with asking questions and hoping for a response...
  3. i know this is an older thread, but im just tryin to help. i've had energy suspension on 2 of my cars. they are def. stiffer. ur vehecile will have light vibrations durring startup and idle. but they wont tear as easy and they keep ur motor pretty damn still.
  4. btw i forgot to mention. there is some kind of "clunking" in the steering column. u cant really hear it, but u can "feel" it. any suggestions on what this can be??
  5. just bought this pickup used with 70k miles on the clock. '03 ss sivlerado. ok just got back from chevy dealership. (got too curious) they said that these pickups have a timing chain that does not need to be replaced until it breaks... and that i should do the following: flush tranny $120 fuel induction flush $120 fuel filter $51 (this one im sure i can do since its not in the fuel tank right? havent got under there yet.) also what kind of fuel do you guys run in ur ss? just got it and have had to fill up once and used 89 (plus). its hard to find 93 in our state so i cant use that. 91 (super) is readily available. but im just curious. and what about oil? im a big castrol fan. but in my last high performance veh. i ran mobil-1 full synthetic. do u guys use regular, syntec blend, or full syn?? any other opinions/suggestions would be appreciated. this is my second chevy truck and my first high performance truck. thanks to all that respond.

  7. ^^^lol about the horn... i am mechanically inclined to an extent. alot of stuff i "attempt" to do myself. i'll def take a look at the belt. (my last car had a timing chain that had to be replaced every 250k miles...that was nice) all in all, these seem like pretty well built pickups.
  8. hi all!! new to the ss scene and i have to say after trolling around for a few days i feel comfortable making an introduction. my name is jake and i live in ada oklahoma. bought my ss used with 70k miles on the clock. came with exhaust and spray in bedliner, and a tune of some sort? (not to familiar with the last one) thats about it. plan on doin some upgrades as money permits. i talked to the original owner and he said that it never had the tranny flushed. besides that are there any other maintance requirements that should be addressed a.s.a.p? timing belt maybe? most of my other veheciles were hondas, that didnt require much maintance. i bought this truck and had a 40k mile warranty tacked on for whatever may happen. a lil blanket until i reach 110k... anyhow, thanks to all that respond in advance. and i look forward to being an active member to this site!
  9. whats up! i'm new to the ss scene as well. i live in Ada, O.K. just bought this awesome truck. it makes my second truck. the first being an '03 swb with the larger v8. i'm only 21 so i havent got to do to much with it yet. (that and the fact that i havent even made my 1st payment yet.) i've had a couple of cars in my life, most of them foreign (dont be too harsh) but i have come back to my roots and bought another good ole chevy. and i have to say i do luv it! anyhow this is my first post and i just wanted to say hi, to fellow ss'ers that reside in oklahoma.
