    Beware of the EVO 9

im with chase on the sti bus. 300hp and 300lbs of trq AWD boosted from the factory... i love american muscle but u gotta respect them 4cyl. i really hate that comercial ford put out for their new mustang GT's. i dont know if you've seen it but they had a mustang gt lined up against an STI. and the stang rev's up on the sti and the subaru gets "scared" and turns off. i'm tellin u right now that sti would eat up that gt all day long. from the first jump at the line to the end of the track...untouchable stock for stock. Tells you how smart ford is...lol
  5. is lucas good stuff?? cuz i just put some in an empty tank and then filled up. ran it back down to empty, and plan on changing the filter then filling up again. is what i did enough?? or should i go ahead and use the seafoam in the engine bay as well??
  6. no the 652 is bigger than the 481 thats on my truck...
  7. well i planned on changin my fuel filter myself, but it looks like its a bigger headache then i thought it would be... i went to my local chevy house and requested a fuel filter for my ss truck. they gave me an ac delco part # GF652. well when i get under my truck back at home my filter says ac delco part # GF481. so i went to the acdelco website and the site says there is no GF481 part #. whats the deal??? (its sunday, so it will be tomorrow before i can get the right part anyhow)
  8. will do!! thanks for the help guys!!
  9. well at least im not the only one. i was kinda worried there. what about running the slick 50 for the quart i'm missing?? or should i just go ahead and put in another quart of mobil one??
  10. i searched around a bit and didnt find anything that REALLY answered the question that i have. i bought my truck a couple months back and just did its first oil change. i chose mobil 1 5w-30 full syn. combined with a mobil 1 filter. after install i let it idle for a while and then drove it around town. at idle the truck sits at 40lbs of pressure. and when i gave it wot it jumped (and maxed out) at 80lbs. btw this is in 32-40 deg. weather. after this i pulled over and checked my oil and realized it was quart low. (should have read the manual). could this be the issue?? or is there no issue at all? i never payed attention to the oil pressure gauge before. 1 MORE THING- since i am a quart low, would it be "GOOD" to use slick 50 to replace the quart, or just go ahead and use another quart of mobil 1? thanks guys!
  11. i'm in oklahoma, but i could get them down to you for a good price...how much u lookin to spend?? and where in houston are you located?? -jake

  13. i know i was actually working for a nissan dealership. and every salesman there said they could take my sss off the line and the whole way...wtf?? of course when i said lets line them up, no one would do it...i hate posers!! i wish i could have a chance at lining up against one. just to shut them up!!
  14. 2003 awd 6.0L ss. im in, just let me know when ur ready for my info and i'll send it ur way. im gettin mine fixed for the second time tomorrow!!! $100 a pop. ada, oklahoma 74820.
  15. thank u so much mister P. i'd really only save $30 if i did it all at once. so i think i'll do it step by step. like u said. i plan on doing the axles and fuel filter myself. i was just going to have the shop do the tranny (cuz they use a special machine), the coolant (cuz they dont just dump the radiator), and the powersteering (cuz i dont know how hard that is...i've never done it.) but i'll look for a how to on these. thanks again, jake
  16. well if i do the tranny, coolant, and ps at the same time it saves me like $30. im just tryin to figure out what is the most important things to do first. (that will fit in my budget) i just want this truck to last. so i gotta take care of it now. just dont know if i can shell out $400+ at one time...
  17. at first i thought they were hideous. but now they're growing on me.

    Headlights

do the silverstars not require upgraded ballast?? im straight dumb when it comes to electrical talk. my drivers side headlight went out and i thought about just upgrading when i replaced it. would this be my best bet?? or just go all in and get the HID kit?? like i said, i'm not to familiar with either setup. so plz elaborate when explaining the difference. thanks, jake
  19. bought my 03 silverado ss used about a month ago. it has 70k on the clock. my local shop said that it would do a tranny flush, coolant flush (including the block not just the radiator), and powersteering flush for $300. (good or bad?? ) i was thinking that i would also need to get the brake lines flushed and the axles as well as my fuel system. anything else that you can think of for a vehec. wilth 70k miles on it?? thanks, jake
  20. put me on the list as well my friend. and in return i can help you out with a discounted price on some wheels for your sss. if that interest you?? thanks, jake Good Luck To All!!!!
