  1. I'm sorry for not being clear at first, so allow me to rephrase....The question is what is your favorite artist/song that sounds the best with your setup. For example mine is Lil Jon-Da Blow....Im just curious what songs or artists people listen to in terms of what sounds good with subs. My idea for this poll came up when me and a couple of my buddies started talking about what song hits the hardest in our trucks/cars. And of course we all had different answers such as Outkast, 2pac, Lil Jon, etc.

  3. For all you guys with subwoofers I wanted to start a little poll.....What is the song you think sounds the best with your system????

Im trying to put in a center console from ebay in my truck. I currently have a jumpseat, but i got a good deal on a center console, so all i need is the lower dash piece that it connects to. its for a 99 to 2002. the piece I need includes the glove compartment and extends left and stops underneath the heat and a/c controls
  6. hey i just obtained a center console through ebay. where can i get the piece that connects it to the dash?
  7. I have an 04 silverado. not an ss though, its a 2wd v6.....(i know pathedic). however i bought the truck with 19k miles, and ive noticed since i bought. dealership said to just seperate it at the steering shaft and stroke for lubrication....said they no longer offer grease kit....no wonder why import auto companies are taking over
  8. no, bone stock...the only thing I can think of is maybe u joint....but im no mechanic
  9. Driving in any gear I hear a nasty sound coming from the rear. It is like a very distinct vibration noise, and it has me very concerned. I only hear it between 1100 - 1300 rpms. The vibration seems consistent with the rpms of the rear differential. I really have no idea where to start looking....so i appreciate any help
  10. I have the alpine 9857, and I love it. It looks very clean looking when installed IMO b/c the colors of the buttons blend very well with the rest of the interior lights. It reads mp3 cds very quick, and has many useful features to fine tune the audio coming from your speakers. Some ppl I have talked to though says it is very hard to get alpine cd decks to sound good, but im very satisfied.
  11. I installed and alpine cd player 1 month ago. In a week im getting a remote start installed installed. when i bought the cd player i didnt buy or install the adapter to keep the door chimes ringing. i was told it wouldnt be a problem without it, but im unsure if it will be ok to not have the part when getting the remote start installed.....thank you ahead of time
  12. Now i have heard and seen from a couple forums an odd myth about the subthump boxes. and from what ive gathered is that with the subthump boxes, a single box is louder than a double box. now two is usuallly louder than one, but many testimonials have said other. I have done a little bit of research with no answers to this myth. Now between me and a buddy of mine we have only one theory. from what i can tell, subthump boxes fire down, and ventilate toward the rear of the truck. i do not personally own a subthump box yet, but this is heavily weighing my decision. Now with it ventilate toward the rear, allof the air flow must rise up behind the seat. not with only a single box, the air flow can pass next to the box under the seat, allowing a quicker and easier route for the air to travel. now i might have no frickin clue as to what im talking about, but many ppl agree with this.....what do you think???

  14. Ive have 3 other cars with subs in them. but with my truck i want a more powerful set up. I wanna run 1 2000 watt earthquake amp with with two 12's. Im really scared to install this without sufficient power. so i want to buy a bigger alternator. i have no idea how big or where to buy from for a good price. please let me know what you all have, and possibly how amps should the new alternator have???
  15. I also have the alpine 9857. I still have stock speakers, but have the exact same problem. im supposed to stop by a local car audio shop with a great reputation tomorrow to seek some advice. I kinda think it might have something to do with that BBE (bass engine). No too sure though, but ill let u know
  16. The ultra deep subthump box can handle a 10" or 12" sub, with up to a 7" top mounting depth.....
  17. no, it wasnt for an amp kit. Best buy told me it was another harness that had to be connected with the radio, or otherwise i would fail emissions. I installed my alpine without it, and everything is working fine.
  18. does it happen right after u turn the car off??? if it does, this happened to me as well when i ran a hi-lo converter.....
  19. I prefer Kicker or JL. From my experience, i usually stick with sealed boxes, not ported. I find that sealed boxes sound much better if you listen good with all kinds of music, including rock and rap. my advice would be kicker comps or jlw3's, not too expensive or overdramatic
  20. I'll keep this short. I have an 04 silverado (not ss). It is pretty bare minimum, no bose speakers, no steering wheel controls, and no onstar. I wanted to put the Alpine 9857 mp3 cd player in, and bought it at best buy. BUT they tried telling me that I needed a $150 harness in addition to the gm harness. They said that my alpine would work without it, but I would fail emissions testing. Has anybody heard of such a thing????? I have installed many cd players in many different cars, and this sounds like BS to me
