well we just removed the wheels and looked at the rotors and pads and they are fine on the fronts. I guess I was just being paranoid because I hear a sound coming from somewhere but when I press the brakes the sound goes away. Rears are next just wanted to give an update. I torque the lugnuts to 140 right?

I had one in my S10 and it was by far the best battery I ever had. Not one problem starting it even on the coldest of days. Oh and I also had a nice aftermarket head unit, 12" MTX Sub and amp, and neons on the inside(yes neons it was a phase lol) and thing never gave me one issue.

Cars will naturally turn slower in cold weather. its just the way they are. Your battery should have an eye on the top of it if it is an original battery. Mine is still green but maybe just take a look at yours.

Well my brakes are starting to sing to me just while driving(not while braking though) so I need to replace them before winter hits! I wanna know is there anything I should know before taking a step into this project. Is there any tools I will need to rent from an auto store? Any special ways of putting the pistons back in or anything? I just want to know as its an SS and I don't have much experience doing brakes but I will have help. Also when I was looking on autozone they mentioned something about a spindle locking nut or something? Is this an issue? Also Is there any thing wrong with using Duralast products? I dont wanna tear into this thing and mess something up so if there is any advise please pass it on to me I will be doing both Pads and Rotors and Front and Rear! Thanks Guys.

Maybe try taking it to a dealership and have them reset the pcm back to factory. Maybe the truck isn't liking the handheld and its trying to tell you that.

Well I'm am looking to buy a Laptop and they are coming out with the New Windows 7 Laptops this week and was wondering if any of you computer guru guys here can help me decide on a computer. Wanting to spend under 1k and favor HP and Dell but will consider others as well. It will mostly be used for maybe some very minor music (Have a Desktop for that) Internet and email. Will not be used for gaming as I am a console player. I just want to get a good reliable computer and don't want to get hammered by some damn salesman who is trying to push sales out the door. Also I will need a router. Wanting to go wireless but this will be my first wireless router setup. The things that will be running off of it will be the desktop, Laptop, A WII, XBOX360, PS3, and IPOD Touches. Obviously these all wont be running at once but these are the things I want to get connected. I have heard that I would need a Wireless N+ Router but don't know where or what to buy. I have looked on bestbuys website but there are mixed reviews and I know some of you guys use wireless routers or maybe even most of you. Sorry for all the questions I just don't wanna get burned by some dumbass who has no idea what hes talking about. Thanks.

More than likely the dealership probably used general oil nothing special but who knows he may have used sythetic its hard to say. Switching at 70k shouldn't be a problem. If you are concerned about it maybe try a synthetic blend on the next one and then switch to full synthetic. Im sure some of the more mechanical knowledged people will chime in. If you want the best oil Amsoil is the way to go but most here will say Amsoil, Mobil1, RoyalPurple, Valvoline not in any specific order just some of the more commonly used ones by us.

I'm going to autozone this weekend im gonna look for myself because I was actually wondering the same thing myself the other day but never posted about it. I don't know about you guys but my all time favorite so far for a air freshner is black ice. I love the stuff. It doesn't smell like a fruit or perfume in your truck. Kinda manly smell to it lol.

Gas C Cups or D Cups?

Welcome to SSS forum and the Arrival Blue Clan. There seem to be more and more Blue SSS popping up. It doesn't look like the suspension has been messed with to me and the intake is GMPP that is not stock. Don't worry about driving your SS in the winter. Half of us on the site drive ours in the winter as well but make sure you put some good wax on the truck to protect it (Look into Zaino, or Adams Polishes. They both make really good stuff). When you are towing just keep an eye on your trans temp gauge and some guys here will tell you they put theres in 3 instead of D because I guess the 4th tranny clutch bands or something are not very strong. If you will be towing often it may benifit you to look into a Trans Cooler. If you want to wake the truck up get yourself a PCM tune, I'm not talking a superchips or any handheld I'm talking a Actual tune by BlackBear, Wheatley, or Zippy to name a few. Being this is your XX vehicle I'm sure you understand the importance of using the proper gas, 91 or higher is what you should put in it period, lower gas isnt worth the cost of your engine. Not saying you don't know im just pointing out alot of the commonly asked questions by new owners. Oh and one of our trucks sweet spots is a 25 cruise to WOT (Alot of fun to surprise and scare people Also if you want to get an idea of somethings people do to trucks for exhaust or whatever hit up youtube and just search silverado ss you will come up with all kinds of videos. Oh and search for silveradoss.com on youtube for a few compilation videos of trucks on the forum.

Exactly! My old neighbors complained about mine but it is 100% legal so they can't do a thing about it. Though I did tell them I can try to be quiet when coming home and leaving (They had a 2 yr old son) but I am not changing my exhaust and they seemed happy with that.

sounds to me like they may have messed with the pcm and it didn't like it. Try the relearn procedure and go from there.

wow were not that cold yet but gettin there. its gettin down in the 30's at night and they are calling for our first flurries of the year this weekend. This shit sux. I was hoping for one more nice weekend before winter to really clean up the truck and throw a couple fresh coats of wax on before it hit but it looks like thats out.
