  1. there are a few different models. i know you can get just the recovery one and then you can add an alarm with it. most major cities and state police have cars equiped with lojack. if you ever notice a cruiser with 4 antennas in a square pattern, usually on the roof or the trunk lid, that is a lojack car. when you call lojack to report your car stolen, they trip the beacon in your car and it sends out a signal. the cops then can trace the signal. not sure how far the range is. it does work though. onstar also has a feature like that but instead of radio frequencies, the onstar is a gps unit and they can find where the car/truck is and send the coordinates to the police. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i hear ya. i might have to do the same thing. would be a nice xmas gift... from some stories on here ive heard onstar can be easily "disarmed" i gotta get a alarm very soon im about to get my indash dvd player put back in after someone F*cking stole it.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  2. A front plate is required in CA; It is especially enforced in areas with camera intersections, as they need pics of the front and back of the vehicle w/plates to nail you there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> same with Mass. unless you have the old white and green plates. they didn't issue a front plate. until i bought the SSS, i never used my front plate. i would keep it inbetween the console and passenger seat just incase.
  3. i was thinking the same thing. we use FMLA at my job too. you can't fire someone due to an illness. is it a local bank or a national bank? aside from all that, hopefully all works out with your mom. other then knowing the name, I'm not all that familiar with Lupus. hopefully she gets better.

  5. only took 8 days. didn't see that coming.
  6. that's what I do. work for Verizon just north of Boston
  7. i think i vaguely remember someone making a remote controlled SS before.
  8. can't take credit for that. alittle cut and paste from the lojack website...
  9. oh yea, I forgot. Nice truck man!! black is beautiful!
  10. how is this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm guessing that where it's a "northern" truck, the previous owner probably drove it in the winter. All the snow and salt on the bottom of your shoes, boots, whatever would rust the surface of the gas pedal.

    First official "kill"

What's this thing you speak of called sleep The only thing that I've done to my truck is a volant cai. It came with an aftermarket exhaust when I bought it. And yeah his truck is short, and it's crazy fast. But still not as fast as mine <{POST_SNAPBACK}> great kill. who better than friends and family. now you got bragging rights and what better time than around the holidays??
  12. if I wanted to put in a 1 10" thump, what would I need for an amp? I'm looking to keep the stock Bose system so would it be possible? and roughly what would I be looking at price-wise?
  13. where are you rubbing? the front bumper valance? or the frame?
  14. Wheels already sold for $350. Thanks for your offer though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> wish i found this earlier. gonna need a smaller tire for the winter.
  15. I'm guessing they know about drug activity in your neighborhood. They may suspect you're the drug dealer since you do have the nice vehicle, and using that to justify pulling you over and will continue to do so every time they see you. Fix the infractions, tint, front plate, loud exhaust. As long as you have items they can easily write citations for, they will, and you're making it easy for them to do it. You can always go back after things cool off. It's really not harrassment since you do have some vehicle compliance issues that need fixed. Now if you are in compliance and it continues, then you could pursue harrassment against the cop. Things you may want to consider: Fix the infractions Contact the Mayor's office Letter to the editor of the local paper Contact the investigative reporter at the local TV station Mount a video camera in your truck so you have video documentation as well I wouldn't think the mayor/city council would appreciate bad press about an over zealous rookie cop if he's abusing his police powers. Right now he's enforcing the law, but he may have enough of a hard-on for you, he may screw up when you have things in order, correct and proper ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very well put. I have a couple of relatives that are cops and I'm also friends with a few Boston cops. I'm not sure what your demeanor is when you get pulled over, but in addition to fixing the infractions, there are two short sentences that you need to remember, "Yes sir. No sir" You don't need to say anything else. It shows the respect that they think they need and if they are harrassing you, and they try to egg you on, as long as you stay focused on "Yes sir. No sir." they can't break you. But yes, you are making it easy for them. Who knows? They could be completely unrelated. I'm sure they aren't, but as long as you give them a reason, they're gonna keep it up. I'm sure your exhaust and tint weren't cheap, but removing them now is gonna be far cheaper than multiple infractions. You can always keep your pipes and put them on after everything cools down.
  16. those are exactly what I was looking for but can't swing that much this time of year.
  17. am i gonna have to go toy hunting tomorrow???

  22. The patented LoJack System includes a small radio frequency transceiver hidden in up to 20 places in a your vehicle. Each LoJack System has a unique code that is tied into the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). When a theft is reported to the police, a routine entry into the state police crime computer results in a match of the LoJack System's unique code against the state VIN database. This automatically activates the LoJack System in your car, which emits an inaudible signal. Law enforcement authorities who are equipped with LoJack vehicle tracking units - in their police cruisers and aviation units - are always listening for a LoJack signal. Police use the LoJack vehicle tracking units to track and recover your LoJack equipped vehicle.
