Depends on what you mean by "top out". My TBSS has been to 151 mph (GPS) in 3rd gear without hitting the limiter. It has 4.10s

I tried RP in my TBSS and found that on 1/4 mile runs, the lifters squished out and cost me 3 tenths. I went right back to Mobile 1.

I had a service manager served with papers naming him as the defendant in a claim on an engine that was under warranty. I went at his ass because it was his decision and GM said they were following his lead. Since a replacement was about $8,000. He folded like a cheap lawn chair. GM covered the warranty per his recommendation. I also made a very quiet and polite threat to catch his ass on the street sometime and give him some pain and suffering, but it never had to get to that point.

Sounds like you are looking at the JGCSRT8 as they are the only ones to have the 425hp 6.1L. $47K and 13.2 in the 1/4. Towing is not recommended as they come with a factory stall converter. Would be a fun ride tho.

You definitely want to take the units off the dash everytime you stop. Not fun, but they will shut down and you can kill them with heat. Lowrance fixed one of mine under warranty when I fried it.

There are tons of GPS units to fit your wants. I have had a Lowrance IWay 350c, and a 600c for four years now. I suggest sticking with Lowrance, Garmin, or if you have to stoop, Tom Tom. The left tire was spinning more on the burnout at first, but he got that lined out. His first few runs were squirelly, but the last few were dead straight. I hope I am in town when he comes back. I really would like to see him get in the 10s.

Curb weight is 4910. It has a 4.10 gear and a 6 speed auto. The transmission is what really helps it move.
