Several yrs ago I was having the same trouble here in Missouri. Getting tickets all the time. I found out here that you can get permits to have tint. My wife is blind as a bat so we (she) got a recommendation slip from here eye doctor to get tint. I tinted the windows the legal amount 35% and she took it to the Highway Patrol office they inspected it and she got a little permit sticker to put on the truck. Once thats was on I removed the tint and put darker tint on (20%). Didnt have any trouble from then on. I think are more relaxed about the tint in Missouri now. I moved away for a 1 1/2 (Colorado) and got the SS and put 5% on the back 3 window and the truck tint on the driver and pass. window already but I put 20% on them and we moved back to MO in JAN. 08 and have had any problem with my truck windows. But I guess I'm saying try to get so kind of a permit from a Doctor (eye problems, skin problems, or any thing that relates to sun problems!!!!

Hey Guys, I looking for a set of spindles for my 03 AWD which is the Bell Tech 2508. I did some searching and don't really know of all the places to buy parts now days as I've been out of the lowering scene for awhile. I found Summit has them for 240.00 and I was just wondering if any of you guys now where a person might catch them on sale know. If I have to pay 240 for I will but I was just looking for a deal. Do any of you guys have any for sale also. Help me out here fellows or if any body has some for sale let me know. Thanks TJ

I suggested cutting that bolt a few months ago and got beat up like a Red Headed Step Child!!!!! I think its the most pratical way to do, but others seem to think its easier to remove the gas.

Ok guys bare with me here. Our awd SS have a 4L60 or 65E right. Ok what trans does the 2 wd SS have and what other years of trucks had the same trans. I'm wanting to look in a salvage yards for a trans. (2 wd trans) and want to know what years I need to look for (2003-2008) 1/2 or 3/4 ton ???? I hope I'm not to confusing here. Thanks Guys

Sorry but 1 more question. What springs did you use. I found the cam in Summit # CCA-54-426-11*+ but I don't know what springs you used. I just learning this stuff on these modern vehicle, I have a 408 sbc in my 66 Nova and parts and interchangeable of them is easier for my. Again Thanks

Sounds good. Did you have to change the valve springs and push rods or you just replace the cam. Thanks

If you are wanting to lower it another inch you could remove the over-load spring and that will gain you about 3/4" if I remember correctly. Also consider if you are going to haul loads with you truck too. I did remove mine once to get the look i wanted and then used either air shocks or bags to level the load when I pulled my car trailer. Just a option for you.

That's funny as He**!!!

I talked to a guy today about rebuilding my front-end and I thought he was a little high. Put all new updated stuff in it bearing, seals, restrictors and he wants 881.00 for me to take it (front-end) to him or 1081.00 for it and he remove it out of the truck. He will also give me a 6 months warranty and on out second phone conversation he said he would honor things up to a year. I was going to pull it but the weather is looking bad for next week when I would possible be installing it so I'm thinking the extra 200.00 would be worth it.

Yes I am planning on coming. My buddy that built my 408 for my Nova has a couple his buddies that he built motors are going. I going to spectate only but would like to run my car just dont want to hurt my car.

Thanks SS bnoon SS. I was think for the time being to leave the torsion bars and the awd spindles. Surely some more of you guys have some ideas on this. Please help a fellow SS'er out here. Does anybody here have any 04 AWD front-ends they would possible like to sell. If I read correctly on here also the 04 front-ends are better right. Also want years of front-ends and vehicles will fit into my truck also. Thanks guys.

Ok guys dont beat me up about this. I like my truck and dont want to get rid of it. My front end is getting ready to need a rebuilt, my transfer case has got alot of slop in it, and my tranny sometime acts funny when shifting. My main concern right now is the front-end. Any-way to my question that i'm going to beat up about is: what about putting regular 4l60E tranny in it out of a 2 wheel dr. truck and removing all of the AWD stuff. If I was to do this I wouldn't have to worry about the transfer and front-end any more. Is this feazable to do and want about the speed sensor will it plug in to the 2 wheel dr. tranny. Oh yea have to get a drive shaft also. Does a 2 wheel dr. have a carrier bearing and will that cross member bolt up. I was thinking of getting a tranny and drive shaft from a wrecked vehicle and beefing up that tranny with the servo's and shift kit and etc. Thanks guys dont beat me up to bad about this. Like everbody else said they fit fine, but the one thing I would suggest that nobody else did but (zaxss) is doing is put a towel down in the seat under the car seat. The car seat (feet) bottom is hard on your seat if you pull it down tight as I had a couple of indentation in my seat one time I didnt put a towel under it and they take along to come out of the seat. Hope that makes sense.

Heres my favorite car. Its a 66 SS with a 408 sbc 420hp with some juice. It is also a 4 speed car. Heres a picture of the motor prior to the juice install.

What is all involved of replacing a seal on the front-end on the pass. side? Does the axle hub pop off of the axle once the half shaft is moved out of the way. Thanks

Heres what you should do. Look in your warranty book for the # for customer service and call them tell them what the service manager said and go from there.

Got the water pump off what a mess and going to install the new gaskets want to now the torque is of those water pump. Please hurry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it doesn't have a hose attached.

I finally found the petcock on the radiator on the radiator on the driver side. Know to my question is how do you open the petcock. Is there a special tool or can I insert a screwdriver and twist it to open the drain. Thanks

Ok this going to be a stupid question. I need to remove the fan to replace my water pump gaskets. If i'm standing in the front of the truck and have a wrench on the nut of the fan and the wrench is standing up (12oclock pos.) which way do i hit the wrench to loosen the nut to the driver side or pass. side. Thanks guys

Thanks ipyro 24 thats exactly what it is the water pump gasket between pump and block. I put some dye in the coolant and waited till it got dark out and put the black light to it and found the little stream of coolant coming from water pump gasket to the oil pan bolt. Know all i have to do is change the gasket. How much of a pain in the a** is going to be to change that gasket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again thanks ipyro 24.
