  1. Last night I put my truck on the dyno and put down a disappointing 290 horse power with 16" wheels. Previously I had put down 325hp on 18"s before my cam and torque converter and swapping from a pcmforless cookie cutter tune to a blackbear performance. I believe that I am making considerably more horse power but it is not making it to the wheels. I had to swap the injectors to the 44lbers; the stock ones were running at 129% after the cam. Would the torque converter be robbing the horsepower? I have a yank truck thruster 3000

  2. I had an engine light come on the other day; I had a friend hook up his scanner. It had said that the B soleniod on the transmission had got stuck open. I had him clear the code and it has not popped up since. Any ideas why it would have stuck open? I have about 50,000 miles on the truck and the tranny was last serviced 10,000 miles ago with mobil one.

  3. I was just turning on to the highway and noticed a STI turning in front of me. I saw some younger guys in the car, I gave it some gas to see if they wanted to play. As I was going by I heard him get on it, I already had a big jump on him. I was just looking at him in my rear view mirror until 110mph when I caught up with the traffic. I went back to the 65mph speed limit and he slowly came up next to me. He was ready this time, he jumped really hard when he heard me hit the gas, put about two lenghts on me by 95. We pulled over and talked :cheers: ; he said he runs high 11's and that he cracked one turbo already. Now he wants to sell his car and get a truck to mod.

  4. Hows this cam treating you ? good hp gain ?

     

    I been having some minor issues, that should be fixed when I get my retuned pcm from Justin this week. The horsepower gain is really noticable; not a dog from a 40 punch anymore. It pulls really good to 6400rpms where I have the WOT shift set.

  5. I have to keep my throttle body cleaned frequently of mine will stall at idle especially during parking when turning the wheel or something. You might want to make sure the throttle plate is clean.

     

    I have had mine stall when I'm parking or switching from reverse to drive. How are you cleaning your throttle plate? I just received the scan cable from .justin. to retune; so it will run better.

  6. I have seen this happen with built tanny's on my silvy and Keiths they both short shifted us after they were installed.

     

    I haven't done anything to the tranny yet. I know it was shifting were it was suppose to for at a least a week; then the roads got icy and stayed that way for a while. So I haven't really been on it for a while. I haven't been able to check the 1-2 WOT shift point; I can't get the traction I need to stay on the road.

  7. hm I would think you would be making more than 330, but you do have the older engine, not sure what the difference is though. I have to take it back because right now from start up the engine revs but won't go faster than 20 mph for a bit then all of a sudden the power kicks in randomly and it moves. Any ideas?

     

    I made the 330hp with a mail order tune that should be around 400hp at the crank; I'll get to the dyno next summer can't wait to see the new numbers with the cam. Should be around 380hp now! Do you have a custom tune?
